  1. They're not going to rock up to these, tell us who they're wanting to sign, the tactics they're going to play, how we're going to go about beating other teams etc. I thought they said what they could, but without a doubt the players gave up at the end of last season.
  2. Thought it was a decent watch, Ralph looks full of passion I thought, but you could tell he's not happy with current situation. Too much crap about the womens football for me though. Could have gone on for 3 or 4 hours that.
  3. I don;t understand this stuff with Adams at all. It's bonkers. It would be one of the most idiotiv things to do in the history of Saints to loan out our best striker.
  4. Hoping for a full recovery in prep for the weekend....
  5. Or maybe someone a bit more attacking...
  6. Bet they're hoping that gets done before the weekend, given KWP's injury...
  7. Looks like Macca is playing too.
  8. Maybe they thought they saw some raw attributes in him, and expected him to be able to adapt slightly. Not like we're suddenly playing long ball football and crossing it in for him. Ings didn't struggle, but he also was miles better than Adam Armstrong. Fact is he's nowhere near good enough in this league.
  9. Ridiculous if true. That’s peanuts in this league. Someone would be getting a bargain.
  10. Because Moyes wants him to be able to defend too, and he cannot.
  11. Yeah, some people were asking for stewards, we went and stood up in the shade as the concourse was carnage too.
  12. The whole CB situation is a bit of a mess lets be honest. The flip flop between 2 and 3 CB's, the change in partnerships, and the change in front of them, is tough. In a 4222 we lack protection for the CB's, but 3atb we look all over the place, and cannot get up the pitch to give the defence an opportunity to step up. We also don't need 7 CB's. Problem is you can make a case for all of them to start, but not one of them would be first team on the teamsheet. Stephens - Poor player, if we're relying on him after more than 5 years of him being in and around the first team we are struggling big time. He wouldn't get in any other premier league side, and if he's in there it says very little for our recruitment Bednarek - Consistently proven to not be good enough to play in this league. Makes too many mistakes, loses his man, not great on the ball Salisu - Immense the first half of last season, had a bit of a shocker since about March when the whole team went down hill. Clearly has the talent, but needs a strong partner. Bella-Kotchap - Fans clamouring for him - lets be honest we have no idea whether he's good enough, but surely he's better then the others or we wouldn't have bought him. Seems to be very highly rated? Valery - Has come a long a lot in the last 12 months as a CB, but still nowhere near good enough for this league. Lyanco - I like him, I think I'd have him starting in a 3, but he is rash and needs to learn when to get involved and when to not. Simeu - Loan I'd expect - was he bought in last season to encourage Broja and Tino to join, ala Bleidelis?
  13. Unless something has changed in the last few weeks, that’s incorrect.
  14. Forgot all about Vokins. Guessing he hasn’t progressed as expected. Looks like he’s playing left wing as number 11. Or maybe LWB. 😂
  15. It seemed to be more of a weird 3-3-2-1-1. Lavia was deeper than JWP and Romeu on Saturday, sitting in front of the back 3, and Aribo playing off the anonymous Armstrong. ------------Armstrong----------- --------------Aribo--------------- -------Romeu-------JWP------- Djenepo------Lavia-----------KWP ------Salisu-Bednarek-Valery----- --------------Bazunu-------------
  16. Yup, my concern is that too, with Redmond S Armstrong and Tella as alternative options... I think we need to keep Che and go all out for a "goalscorer".
  17. Although I agree with you, regardless of how much of a goalscorer he is, you still need more than one striker, even if we're only planning on playing 1 up front. I'd much rather try and get riid of Armstrong, bring in someone that can play alongside Adams or picked ahead of him, rather than losing him. He offers a lot outside of scoring goals, and helps us get up the pitch. When he doesn't play, we just cannot get our foot on th eball and get up the pitch into a more "comfortable" position. We know that when we are under the cosh we will concede, because the defence is so poor. I think he's been pretty decent signing, and is now an experienced striker in this league. I think getting rid of him is extremely shortsighted, unless we have someone lined up who is going to come in and be first choice from the off, but that would require changing transfer strategy which I dont see happening.
  18. Not sure what Ralphs system is right now.
  19. But in fairness, it was our first or second season in the premier league, and our second season we brought in Osvaldo. We've had 10 years to build a proper premier league squad, and we find ourselves with one of the worst strikers in recent history, being first choice, in a role that he cannot play. It's a bit ridiciulous that we seem to have a weaker squad now than we did in our first season back in the premier league.
  20. I do rate Dyche, but I'd say the bigger issue is that the styles of football would completely counter everything that Ralph / the club have put in place over the last few years. Now there is definitely an arguement as to whether it's right or not, becuase the first team is failing, but I can't see the club ripping something up which has taken so long to put in place, for a manager like Dyche.
  21. Not going but It will be incredibly annoying if questions are asked about the stadium expansion, the ladies team, the kit, the catering etc. The most important thing is the first team players, system, setup, manager...and it is a bit of a mess atm. I've no idea how it all works, but hopefully it will be more value than usual...
  22. Would be absolutely bonkers to sell Che, unless it's for stupid money, i.e. £30m odd. I will judge at the end of the window, but losing our two best strikers from last season will leave us in all sorts of problems. Even if we bring in a player much better than Broja and Adams, which is incredibly unlikely, it will take some time for them to settle, and we'll be stuck watching A Armstrong jog about mishitting everything he touches. My only thought is that if we can be neutral bringing Broja back and selling Adams, would you do the deal? Possibly, but we still would need 1 more striker in.
  23. You can certainly see why Shane Long was being picked ahead of him last season. He offers nothing.
  24. Wow. Would be a hell of a coup if they do get him, cracking talent
