Anyone else think that if we had this squad at the start of last season we wouldn't have been relegated?

Surely an ideal chance to give lallana a run out up front with lambert? Is mill's/holmes fit yet?

Firstly to get to 0 points! I think we should work on short term targets this season and stay in the league with any thing else a bonus, and try and build a squad which is going to be going for the title next year.

There were certainly positives to be taken from the game, but also a bit of an eye opener. I think we've just got to hope that we can get some decent wide players. Mills and Holmes could be like new signings for us. I think Lallana could be huge for us this season, but he needs to be given a position and stick to it and work to it. If this is left midfield then he needs to play as a left midfielder, or be good enough to make the difference to come inside and be influential enough to make a difference i.e. Modric for Spurs (although obviously not as good as him) The massive positive from what I saw today was the fact we were so much stronger. I haven't seen us play yet this season apart from Millwall on Sky...but I honestly think we are a better team now than we were last season. One thing i didn't mention in my other post was about how deep we were playing after we scored, we started playing ridiculously deep and just invited them onto us, and being a Saints fan...we just knew it was going to happen once we failed to score a second. G

Just got back from the game, decent game, absolutely devastated we didn't pick up the 3 points. Totally controlled the game and from we could see the referee totally bottled it at the end. The Stockport fans only made noise when they were having a go at the ref...all in all a pretty **** poor atmosphere I have to say. I thought Mellis looked alright, and Lallana looks decent.......but neither of them are wide players. We totally lacked any width and were leaving it up to Harding and Thomas to get forward as much as possible. Lambert looks very decent, but would look 10x the player if he had crosses being whipped into the box, you saw this when he hit the bar. Thomas really should have scored when he hit the bar, but you can't really expect him to, he's a CB !! Thought Hammond looks like a good signing and will grow in our team, hopefully beginning to control the game a lot more, he went missing a bit today I thought. My MOM definitely Trotman, the guy looks absolute class and exactly what we've been missing. Saganowski doesn't really look very interested in my opinion. I think he could have had a few goals today, but he just didnt gamble enough today. He doesn't seem to read the game very well and just didnt seem to link together with the rest of the team. Paterson looked lively when he came on and definitely looked like he wanted to be here. Will stand with what i said at the start of the season...Davis is the best keeper outside the PL. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day, gutted about not getting the win, but seems a lot more positive than other games, and seem to be heading in the right direction!! UTS G

3 games in....still building and adding to the squad...IMO, staying up this season is expected, but anything more than that is a bonus with starting -10! Let's just get behind the team, give it til Xmas, and then if we're still in a terrible position then maybe look at it then....PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE !

Why does it matter, if he's telling the truth then so be it, if he's not then it just gives everyone something to talk about.At the end of the day, it's up to you whether you believe the guy or not, but it doesnt really matter whether he's ITK or not ! If he is then he's doing all of us a favour by letting us know the details, Rumours are rumours at the end of the day, it's exciting times for all us Saints fans at the moment, lets just be happy that we've got someone who clearly does know atleast a little more than the majority of people on here !!! I go to uni in sheffield, and all the club's around here have cheap tickets. The most expensive it is for a game is 12 quid. Sheff utd also have loads of games which are a fiver to go to. I think saints are cutting the target market, wouldn't you rather see the stadium full?

No idea, but I've seen a lot of Lancashire and I don't think he's up to the job at the moment...maybe given a year's experience playing every game, then maybe he might be ok, but at the moment he's just not up to it. I wouldn't say DMG is better than Blackstock or Earnshaw, I saw forest 5/6 times last season as i have a friend who goes to watch them a lot, and I would rate them way above DMG, just my opinion though !

I dont think DMG will play constantly for Forest, they've got Blackstock, Earnshaw, Adebola, Garner And Lancashire is just a dreadful dreadful player, I quite liked the look of him when he first started, but we definitely are going to need a new cb before next weekend !!

Holmes is Left footed, and could be awesome in League one IF he can get fit and stay fit...lets not forget how many people were saying how much of an impact he made at the start of last season.
