Just sitting in the car park...traffic is horrendous! Thought we played well today, although think we gave them too much respect in the first half! Were pretty solid, but didn't try and attack enough. Thought we played the long ball into the corners too often to connolly and he hardly got the ball, although he looked comfortable in front of the back four. I'm happy with a 1.0 loss though, because we more than matched them. We can't be massively downhearted by the performance! Lets hope we make it out of this car park soon!

Had a small covering last night in Sheffield, but all gone pretty much by now, It's going to be cold but i'm confident the game will go ahead !

In sheffield they only just count themselves as northern. Get called northern when home, yet up here i'm southern! I know a lot of people from derby/nottingham and they consider themselves as midlanders.

Delap? Jakobsson? Bernard? Kanchelskis? Arias? Tahar? Just a few very recent 1s?

I think the main thing is is that He's seen where we've needed to improve, and done it, and getting the best out of the talent we already had. I'm very impressed with pards! Long may it continue!

At the game. Brilliant performance so far. Totally outclassed them. Noone realised the free kick went in. Very satisfied. Need to keep attacking, let them back in the game after we scored a second. Defence is a rock so far. Papa need's to get in the game more. Ricky's song catching on!

Firstly to get to 0 points! I think we should work on short term targets this season and stay in the league with any thing else a bonus, and try and build a squad which is going to be going for the title next year.

There were certainly positives to be taken from the game, but also a bit of an eye opener. I think we've just got to hope that we can get some decent wide players. Mills and Holmes could be like new signings for us. I think Lallana could be huge for us this season, but he needs to be given a position and stick to it and work to it. If this is left midfield then he needs to play as a left midfielder, or be good enough to make the difference to come inside and be influential enough to make a difference i.e. Modric for Spurs (although obviously not as good as him) The massive positive from what I saw today was the fact we were so much stronger. I haven't seen us play yet this season apart from Millwall on Sky...but I honestly think we are a better team now than we were last season. One thing i didn't mention in my other post was about how deep we were playing after we scored, we started playing ridiculously deep and just invited them onto us, and being a Saints fan...we just knew it was going to happen once we failed to score a second.
