Which generation had it hardest? Part 1 Baby boomers
Gemmel replied to revolution saint's topic in The Lounge
I'm not sure what to do. I agree with delldays (He is actully bang on the money). I have re read the forum rules and nothing comes close to explaining what one should do in these situations. -
The rise of this type of entity is just the result of the other parties pussy footing around imigration discussions and paranoid about the racist card being played. Whether it is delibarate or not, all the main political parties seem happy to allow myth to reign over fact. Half educated people understand the positive impact that alot (Not all) of immigrants and muslims bring to this Country. There aren't huge amounts of half educated people anymore.

Insurance requirements, bought is career with Saints to an end. He was offered the operation, but didn't want it. Whilst most Saints fans loved Ronnie, I think you would have needed to be a player in his team to understand what he really bought to the party. Such a shame, it could have been so different.

It might be worth pointing out that copry boy has logged in and read this every week bar two since it began..... He just got brave this weeK.

Barny, I think everyone respects the fact that Duncan stood up for what he believed, even if their views on the actual strike are polar to his own. But your response to Jackanorys thoughts on the strike are bizarre. It was one of the most ridculous strikes in history, had very little or no public support and for what they got out of it, will do more harm than good to the unions, in the long run.

Sorry mate I can't agree with that. With less than ten clicks of a mouse they can email the entire database, which may act as a timely reminder for some, an oh fook, forgot all about it for others and a gentle nudge in the right direction for a few. The window is very short..... with holidays and such like coming up, it will be easy for a few to forget or miss.

It will need to be something pretty severe to encourage him away from 35k a week for ten minutes work every fortnight :)

No confusion at all Saint Si. .... The club got their hopes up , but he quashed the rumours straight away... He's there for the duration of his contract. Club given him permission for a weeks delay in training for heart tests.
-
Retired from International football..... He certainly isn't retiring from his 35k a week contract. Lets just hope his heart tests, don't double up as an age test as well.

Pre season starts on Friday. Kanu, Lawerson, hierdesson and ben haim have been given an extra week off. So with the two new signings there will still only be 7 players start. Should keep the food costs down at the training ground

Pure quality as usual Rallyboy. The three posts above are all correct. The russians have come in with some cash...no doubt. Perhaps not enough to buy chinny out completely or get the habourdrome built in the next six months, but they are putting togther a fairly decent squad.....albeit an expensive one. There are still a couple of issues outside of their control, as in the tax case and forensic investigation. If Storrie is found guilty the FL will have to address that one straight away, the forensic one can linger around for as long as necessary. If pompey are showing any signs of playoff or automatic in the business end of the season, expect the PL to start whispering in a few ears. Additionallly the CVA needs to be paid towards the end of the season next year and then there is TBH wages to consider and the half a million to Sprus for the goalie. There's plently left in the melting pot.

He really isn't Alipine
-
I was about to say it must be in that grey area (Farehamish) between Southampton and pompey. Skills competition or not, a pompey shirt in a central Southampton school, simply wouldn't be tolerated.... and that would just be the teachers.

For the first time this thread has been found wanting - Where were are legal experts?? I take full responsibility for duff reporting, I am happy to report however, the case is not closed and remains ongoing. http://www.thelawpages.com/court-hearings-lists/Southwark-crown-court.php

Sometimes when you come on here, you end up questioning yourself as to whether you know anything about football at all, based on some of the comments. Then you read some of the posts above and can be reassured you know enough and that actually any idiot can access the internet and as proved, very often do.

As long as it is within the stipulated guidelines of "Notice Given"

We have been linked to a number of quality players, most of which will have significant transfer fees. If we go out and spend 20 million (Not that I think we will) then the expectation levels will quite rightly be higher than if we take on the Championship with the current squad minus Oxo. We know Cortese is very ambious and that he has restated his position regarding funding - Of course funding a League one promoton, is very different from funding a Championship one, but let's just wait and see. Whether investment happens or not, we are in a very different position than we have almost ever been. With perhaps the exception of the last two seasons, we have known that some of our best players were likely to leave and that every now and then we would pull off a great signing, with a string of mediocre ones to boot. It might stay the same, but that is not in line with Corteses ambition or statements..... It is just a case of sitting back and waiting. For what it is worth the current squad will not get close to promotion, but if thats what we start with it's fine by me.
-
I think I'll wait to see what the squad looks like before gauging what would or wouldn't be a successful season.

Bloody Hell Bollards, this might be "The Lounge", but who do you think are coming out with sensible, reasoned and balanced posts like that? The mods will be all over you like a rash.
-
Err and nothing, I was just trying to balance the debate with the fact they do alot of work outside school hours and actually during the holidays themselves. You say you do excess of 80 hrs a week as it is part of the job.... Welll so is the 10 + weeks holiday for teachers - Part of their job.
-
I am not a teacher but my Mum was and she spent alot of her holidays marking or prepping for the next term / year. When she got home on a school night she would always have a couple of hours work minimum, left to do.
-
May be they could combine them with their "Striking Days"

In the good old days of this forum the name branfoot was deleted out by the swear filter and quite rightly so. Please correct this oversight.

No I don't think so, case closed seems pretty cut and dry.
