Well, Oldnick was right after all. Storries court case looks as if it has been kicked out. The court listing is "Trial Part heard" - "Case closed". That was one avenue, where some modicum of fair play could have been applied. There will be no justice.

And lets not lose sight of this. For 90% of fans on both sides, Saints have been the top South Coast Team for 55 out of the last 59 years. The last 4 years have proven to be false, but the scales have been balanced in super quick time. What is they say about houses built on sand?

Biggest Flop Signing & Low Expectation That Came Good
Gemmel replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
The same divy who tried to bring hoddle back -
Being linked to so many players, with what are fairly significant fees, I was wondering which players came with the higest expectation and just flopped and visa versa who came with low expectation and won us all over. For me some of the biggest flops that joined us with big hype would be; David Hurst Delgardo Kanchelskis And the other side, low key or low expectation that came good....very good would be; Pahars Marsden Eckland

If it was slightly over and first time, they would be given the option of paying the duty on the things that were over. Second offence and significantly over, destroyed and fine (Plus prosecution)

Complete myth. omerods assist stats were as poor as his goals stats.....basically he was just very poor

Well I am no lawyer or tax expert and I think we all know that these sort of cases can be complicated....but 4 weeks??????? There's a lot of cost associated to this for both parties. I hope HMRC have spent it wisely.

You might well be right and I can't find the article I was looking for, but this one goes some way to explaining the polices changing attitudes towards us. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/features/newsreview/8169169.Rise_in_violence_at_Saints_matches/

I will wait to be corrected, but I think Saints are the same risk catergory as millwall, leeds, pompey cardiff etc.

Posh Owner says Saints' Mackail-Smith bid "Worst he's ever seen"

Not sure you should be posting private conversations...which it is if you have to request to follow him..... That said, yes it is interesting. -
They didn't?? They couldn't?? I assume there is no connection to the club..... http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/jun/16/southsea-bank-declared-insolvent

Championship fixtures released - Leeds at home first
Gemmel replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
If there is anything to be had for us in terms of playoffs or automatic, then our run in is fantastic. I had a dream about a month ago, that we sent pompey down at fratton park and the demons from our last visit were exorcised. -
No worries.... The sands of time wearing out the old grey matter at this end !!

And Peter Shilton

Paul Jones was a fantastic keeper, he got into the game late, ( I think he used to milk cows!) and Dave Jones bought him and Lee Todd with him from Stockport and stuck them both straight into the first team (Kinda tough on Maik Taylor at the time). Todd was a disaster and Jones was excellent and glad he got to play in the FA Cup final for us. He did indeed go to Liverpool as an emergency loan and made some sort of worldee save, which is why i think they hold in high regard. It was a perfect end to his career..... he was a lifelong Liverpool fan.

Former Pompey owner Balram Chainrai has revealed he will be getting his money back in instalments from new owner Convers Sports Initiatives. The Hong Kong-based businessman sold his stake in the club, plus that of partner Levi Kushnir and brother Deepak to CSI a fortnight ago. His tenure of the club had been controversial to say the least, having acquired a controilling interest in Februray 2010 when then owner Ali Al Faraj defaulted on a loan payment. Within weeks Chainrai put the club into administration with debts of more than £100m. He then bought the club out of administration, along with Kushnir and Deepak, in the autumn, having shed a significant proportion of those debts. But in an interview in the South China Post he revealed he wasn't getting the reported £17 million he was asking for up front. 'In the beginning I was put in a very awkward situation,' he said. 'Now I'll get my money back in increments, and most probably won't get all the money back that I have put in. But to have to put no more cash in - and eventually get back over a period of time most of what I invested - is a relief.' And he hinted the new owners have money to invest. 'People with bigger pockets have taken over so it's a win-win situation for everyone,' he added. 'I took over the club because I had no other option. I was thrown into a situation which was totally unexpected. Suddenly I was in charge of a Premier League football club. Nothing can prepare you for that, but it turned out to be a tremendous experience. The last thing I could even dream of was the club getting to an FA Cup final. Chainrai's main regret is not winning that final in 2010, when Pompey lost 1-0 at Wembley to Chelsea. "When you get to an FA Cup final and nearly win it, it's hard not to feel a pang of regret. If [Kevin-Prince] Boateng had scored that penalty we'd have taken the lead, and I believe we would have won. 'I'd have held the FA Cup as the owner of the winning club. I still find it hard to believe I spent two hours in the Royal Box sitting next to Prince William. Doesn't read as one of the most orchastrated, pre planned, manged aquisition, administration, repurchase and sale ....does it.

Myprotein Sponsor Looks Promising about Sports Science
Gemmel replied to sammysaint's topic in The Saints
Just as little tit bit on the nutrion side, I went to Chelseas training ground a couple of years ago as they were finishing their new players building, which cost 30 million (Which is more than St Marys !!) and as well as swimming pools with xray machines built into the side, they told us how the drinks machine there is based on the blood test and other tests data and the player punches in his own code and the machine dispenses a drink specially made up of the right nutrients / vitamins etc. for that individual player..... Can we have one of those at Staplewood please -
http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/blues_allay_fears_of_transfer_embargo_1_2770273 . He rubbished those claims and promised Steve Cotterill can bring in players to boost his squad as normal. Midfielder David Norris is close to being announced as a Pompey signing after his release from Ipswich Doh. Well if I am honest, I havent got a ******* clue what is going on down there and what the russians are or arent up to. What I do know is that someone has to find an additional 5 million quid on top of their budget, for Ben Haim alone. There is no embargo in place, yet they cant get the Norris deal over the line. The have 8 players and the manager can sign players as normal....... but they still only have 8 players. The sports mad russians, couldnt make it to the FL conference and have chosen the same PR man as the three previous owners, to break the news, that there is no press conference. On paper this thread was coming to end, in reality this latest takeover has the potential to see us all off with laughter. I haven't met any russian comics before, but these lot are winning me over big time.
-
It's amazing. Within a week of the takeover being completed, out of the woodwork comes; 1) Ben Haim - Owed 1.4 plus potentially another 3.7 million for the remainder of his contract. 2) Season ticket numbers that don't add up 3) Potential transfer embargo looming 4) A done deal with Norris, just waiting and waiting and waiting for the FL to ratify it. Old chinny is no fool
-
Taken from the dark side ; I'm a disabled season ticket holder and rather Reluctantly renewed, just because I don't want to lose my place. Anyway, I've just had a call from my bank to tell me that Zebra Finance are to take 4 lots of £155 out tomorrow! I don't know who they are, but I just googled them and it says they do season tickets applications. Can somebody verify that they do Pompey's? I am very p!ssed off, I think its pompey as I think the disabled ticket is £150 + £5 Sh!tty admin fee Surely chinny didn't inflate the season ticket numbers by putting applications through more than once. I'm sure it is just one of those querky admin errors, that seem to happen a lot down there. Note to russians That's three less season tickets off the total, I wonder how many more will be waking up to multiple payments.
-
Actuallly if the poster who said that he still had two years left on his contract was right, that's 1.4 in back pay and another 3.7 in wages over two years. If the russians were led to believe this wasnt owed and there was a breach of contract, that meant they didn't have to pay him, that is a delta of over 5 million....on just one player. Three cheers for Peter
-
I wouldn't mind betting the embargo is already in place. You don't wait six months before complaining about not being paid. The news last week said on three separate occassions that the norris deal was done and was just waiting for the league to ratify it...... that takes about half a second and they can get through a couple of hundred a day, not quite sure why it's taken over a week and still not resolved....unless there is an embargo of course..

Interesting quote from CSI. "We plan to continue the good work and progress made under previous owners Oh dear oh dear oh dear
