  1. May be we could give them a player in exchange for the Lallana buy out clause......................Anyone got Guly's number
  2. http://edition.cnn.com/2014/04/29/world/asia/malaysia-airlines-plane/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 So basically they don't think it is the plane at all
  3. Go and have a play on their forums........ Certainly not all want him, but I would be happy with him
  4. I have of course been a plank with Cole. As for Terry, its more like England doesn't do Terry anymore and of course Clyne won't be going. That wasn't the thread ..... The thread is what is your Squad and with the exception of Coleman that was mine.
  5. Hart Foster Forster Johnson Coleman Terry Jagielka Dawson Cahill Cole Baines Gerrard Cork Lallana Sterling Henderson Milner Chamberlain Carrick Rooney Sturridge Lambert Welbeck (Didn't want to include him, but does well for England)
  6. Agreed and I doubt the OP thinks we will either - This is who he would choose
  7. Actually I think it has some mileage and to a certain extent I agree...... I also think you could include "politics" (Perhaps not quite as much) as an example.
  8. "I'm rather hoping we don't get any more examples like we had with Jay Rodriguez. He damaged his cruciate ligament in a game where I was actually watching from the stands. You hope that's not going to happen again. I ma reading too much into this to think he is suggesting that Jay Rod was going? Full story http://www1.skysports.com/FIFA-World-Cup-2014/news/12016/9289022/roy-hodgson-gives-clearest-indication-he-knows-his-england-world-cup-squad
  9. If you are talking about the Milk Cup (Mid week match) goal that got us a replay (Which we subsequently lost) then indeed it was. I have tried so hard to find footage of the goal, but it seems it doesn't exist. If anyone knows if there is anything out there, I would be very grateful.
  10. Pretty much as I see it. With regard to the story (Which was funny) I'm guessing it might be a tad embellished based on the 35 pound sandwich You would struggle to pay that at the Ritz, not least a hotel he cites as costing 79 pounds for the night.
  11. Didn't realise I had offered one, but if it helps..... your are very welcome
  12. That one has been satisfied in full. A new one was taken out in the summer. Whether it has anything to do with amounts or not (I don't know) but the second one needed league approval - The first one didn't.
  13. What does it mean for us and what sort of season has it been, are two different questions; With regard to the season itself, it has been terrific and one of my favourites ever (I started going in 1977). We have improved our league positioning by more than anyone else in the league (Possibly with the exception of Liverpool - we will see) and on course for our highest ever points tally in the Premier (I know I know). It hasn't just been the results, it's been the performances and the football we have played that has made it so enjoyable (One of my favourite games was the 2 -1 defeat to Everton) and as the media drawl over us - we have done it with young English blood, that will see two maybe three of our players head out to the World cup and two of them in the PFA team of the year. The balancing act between the demand for success, expectation and integrating young, home grown, inexperienced players, should not be under estimated and for that alone MP, has done an incredible job and deserves huge amounts of respect. The FA cup did leave a sour taste, but when you take a step back and look at the two chances that Stevie Wonder would have scored (Rickie, Lallana), then on any other day it would have been soon forgotten. For those that genuinely haven't enjoyed it, I suggest you try a new sport or a different club...... It won't get much better than this one for Saints. As for what it means for us, well that's the down side (Probably) We have shown the rest of the footballing world what we've got and the vultures are circling. Starting at the very top with our manager, (which would seem to be the lynch pin with regard to players staying) he has played some of the most entertaining football in the league, with the youngsters and got results. Outside of the top 5, I doubt there is a club in the country that hasn't called their manager and academy directors into a meeting and asked them "If he can do it why can't you?". He has for ma proved himself the absolute real deal and keeping hold of him will be very difficult. I don't buy into this lets see at the end of the season and in many ways most if not all of us would do the same, he is waiting to see what is offered from others and the likelihood is one of them will make a play for him. Pretty much the same with the players . I once posted on here that if Lallana could effect matches in the Premier league, the same way as he did in League one and the Championship, then you would be looking at a 25 million pound England International .....Me and my big mouth. There is no point in listing all the other players, we know who they are and I'm afraid that there are a lot of delusional people on here that believe loyalty will overcome multi million pound pay days.................... it won't. If Luke Shaw IS offered 100k a week in a 30 million pound deal, both club and player will accept, Lallana probably less (Given his age) but the same thing counts. Replacing two or three players with a wedge of cash in your pocket, isn't overly difficult, replacing a manger and two or three players, is harder but not impossible. However I think we have grown to understand that a significant part of our success in the last few years is how tight, these guys are together. The absolutely play for their manager and teammates. I've never seen a group of players as tight and the worry is of course that goes, the instant the manager or a significant player / s leaves. People also need to look past "billionaire" Katrina. This is a business. The group company she runs is an investment vehicle. Buying and selling companies, shares and investing in business opportunities............. To make money. So far to date (Up until the last accounts anyway) SFC has cost the estate 55 million pounds. We owe 27 million in outstanding transfer fees and have a an unspecified loan to a BVI loan company, that has a charge on everything - including the players. At some point last year she was required to provide an additional 2 million and I suspect (Based on the liquidation of the old company) has recently parted with another four million to Aviva. The reality is that our "stock" is high- Probably as high as it will go, so from a business perspective, it would make perfect sense to cash in on a couple of players, which would also certainly then see the manage go as well. Obviously a lot of that is conjecture, but I think people need a reality check as to what the summer will bring. In many ways this great season, could make us victims of our own success, then of course it might not, but one thing I am convinced of and that is the close season will be a defining period in Saints history..... bad or good.
  14. Not sure how old this one is
  15. And the best thing is.....It's all true. Great stuff
  16. Wow. That win doesn't even register 10% on the impact of 84.

    Teddy Lambert

Ha ha That would be about right.....I'm normally a couple of years behind. He obviously doesn't quite "Sit in the hole" like Sheringham, but the similarities are there and as already posted, can only be good for the younger players around him.
  18. I thought Lambert was excellent yesterday and in front of Hodgson, would gamble he probably did enough to see himself on the plane. He showed vision with his passing, more than a couple of times had twinkle feet, held the ball up when required and inches off perfect execution with his free kick. We have all seen him play deeper this season, but yesterday he reminded me of a certain Teddy Sheringham. Assuming that most of you will know what I mean by "The Teddy Sheringham" role or position, is this now Lamberts position for us next season?
  19. See Targett has made the bench
  20. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27158586 A very loosely connected article (Based on the sentiment of the OP)
  21. According to the last set of accounts (If I understand them correctly - So don't take this as guaranteed); The club have outstanding transfer fees of 27 million. In addition to that, at the latter part of last season the Liebherr estate had to provide an additional 2 million pounds in cash In addition to the addition, we have a unspecified BVI loan against every asset (Including players) the company own. In addition to the addition, to the addition, The old company was recently liquidated (Long story wont bore you) which potentially means the last payment to Aviva (Due to two years ago) has only just been satisfied, which suggests that KL might have just had to stump up another 4 million quid. It's not as rosy as everyone thought
  22. The reassuring thing is, that whenever a "nutjob" or the "thread" itself is mocked by one of it's own........ something always turns up to relight the embers. 30% ownership by the end of the summer :lol:
  23. Why are you on goldfingers ranch........... join the mentalist line.
