Ok, which idiots emailed Saints to tell them that £10 was acceptable?
-
Surely we can move on from this game and make the Charlton build-up a sticky now, it's Thursday evening now?
-
On 60 out of the 92 at the moment, should reach 70 by the end of the season, plus Cup draws. Probably giving the Withdean a miss (not a proper football ground anyway), will wait until we visit their new ground which is being built at the moment. Hartlepool should be a belter, looking forward to a good turn-out there.
-
Would hope that sales will pick up with the news on Papa, although I think people have got a bit bored with this trip after doing it so many times in the last 10 years or so. Is the Antigallian the meeting place then, it gets pretty full pretty early?
-
Good draw. Home and £5, big crowd and progress to the next round. Wembley here we come...
-
FFS, both Brighton fixtures have been screwed up now, the Withdean game by Brighton (Sussex Police?) moving forward to the Thursday, and now this one at St Mary's by Sky! Really annoying, as this latest move to Sunday will hit what would probably have been one of the best attendances of the season.

Subject to work permits etc, I'm happy with the plans that AP seems to be putting into place. He appears to have identified our (obvious) deficiencies, and has been busy addressing them. I'd expect continuous improvement across the next month or so, and would like to see a winning (or very tough to beat) team by the end of September. (Ok, wouldn't mind beating Colchester, but you know what I mean)
-
That's pretty decent, at least we'll be over 10k. Can't see many of the other CC fixtures beating that. Shame there's a clash with the Rose Bowl tonight.
-
The Stratton Bank (and side stand fans) were remarkably patient, even when they were running out of patience in the 2nd half they kept an element of humour to the chants and substitution gestures! AP should realise that although Saints fans are a patient bunch generally, we do have some (limited) expectations and we won't tolerate this rubbish for much longer, albeit we accept that it's hard to change a losing mindset overnight, we expect some improvement.

Message to club - Any DANGER of signing a CB or two
Neil replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Went to the game and can confirm that your analysis is spot on. Lancashire is a complete disaster area and I'm not sure he'll ever recover. Wasn't surprised by Huddersfield winning 7-1, that could easily have been the score against us. -
Is there any (non-restricted) parking off the Queen's Drive into Swindon?
-
The postives from yesterday afternoon: Theakston's Smooth £1.80 Town Terrier £1.90 That's pretty much it. Hopelessly outplayed from start to finish, with only Kelvin really earning his money. It looked like Huddersfield has 12 or 13 players at times. Fitness concerns highlighted in stark fashion yet again. That said it's one of the tougher games out of the way, and I'm still confident AP will sort this out. Need to pull one out of the bag at Swindon on Tuesday.

Most cars are great on petrol, some are better on diesel though. Is that within 30 minutes drive or walk of Salisbury? If it's driving time (all roads lead to Salisbury) that covers quite a big area so you may wish to narrow it down a bit. But without Rule 1 it's irrelevant anyway...
-
Surely we can sell out the Stratton Bank, as well as that section in the side stand can't we? Local pride at stake here. Would imagine a fair few fans still to get tickets at the last minute. Damn good value at £16 and just up the road...
-
Let's get to zero as quick as we can, and then set the next target. No point really talking about finishing position at the moment. Huddersfield is another good benchmark game. Need at least one win from the Huddersfield and Swindon games.
-
Can't do too much fitness work this week or next with the midweek games, but would be great to get a win tomorrow to boost the confidence. I wouldn't change the team much for tomorrow, barring Perry if he's too old to play twice a week! Take Lambert off early if need be (assuming he starts), to make sure he's fresh as a daisy for Huddersfield.
-
Gonna stay up in Newcastle for a few nights before, then stay in Hartlepool after the game and drive back on the Wednesday. Conveniently, Sedgefield races are on the Tuesday afternoon (12.50 - 3.20), which should get the drinking off to a good start pre-match.
-
Cheaper New grounds to visit - terracing New towns/cities to drink in (and some good old ones) Carlisle trip Hartlepool on a freezing wet Tuesday in late-November 'Proper' fans visiting St Mary's (ok maybe a few day-trippers as well)
-
Well done to the 11,000! Are we now a clear (albeit distant) second behind Norwich in the ST ranks? Think we're ahead of Leeds now but not sure about Charlton. Hopefully for STHs and non-STHs alike, people can get back in the habit of SMS and enjoying a few beers on matchdays again...
-
It looks as if Saints may have had two giant off-the-field slices of luck in the last 15 years, although we may not necessarily have realised it at the time, believing it to be catastrophic: 1 Stoneham falling through 2 Pinnacle falling through
-
Played Greenwood / Dibden / Muni / Chilworth / Stoneham of the local courses. Are S Winch and Romsey (Nursling!) worth a blast? Sounds like Wellow is not rated a lot.
-
I would imagine the fact that no-one actually knows (outside of the PFC ticket office, that pressure-cooker working environment) how many STs they've sold gives us some indication, it must be pretty humiliating. For us to pretty much hit 10k in only a few weeks is pretty damn good in my opinion. Hearts result and performance will help and pay day for some fans coming up...

The days in the 90s when it was "little ol Southampton punching above their weight in the Premiership" were very enjoyable for me, especially as they contained MLT in his pomp. Those days were always going to end with A) Relegation or B) A new bigger stadium. As it turned out the new stadium was not the answer that many fans thought it would be. However with the stadium now, support base and one wealthy owner with no divided board, the aspirations should at least be that we are a decent-sized one-club city with a chance of Premiership football if well run.
-
Lord's, no-brainer. Are they showing the Hants-Sussex game in one of the suites or the Kingsland Bar? Surely they could make some money by doing this to get punters in before and after the Hearts game.

As soon as this contract with Carlsberg/Tetley is up it should be cancelled. Get in some decent beer from a local brewer - Bowmans or Itchen Valley, something like that. Then you may actually get people in the ground to drink and spend money earlier. http://www.bowman-ales.com/home.html http://www.itchenvalley.com/
