I'm not really bothered about Divsion 2 or Division 3, it doesn't make a big difference to me, it would be just nice to have a team next season to support.
-
Looks like a very good model for us next season, they've also got a lot of seats to fill up so can be a bit more reasonable with pricing.
-
Ironic that Askham has put in £1,000? And wants it to be known that he has...
-
Just a thought - Hampshire Senior Cup Final is Thursday 30 April at SMS - VT (Sholing based) v Fleet Town. Could Saints boost the crowd and income for this with a bit of marketing, and sell tickets in advance to get a bit of cashflow? Imagine there are Hampshire FA regs on min/max ticket prices etc, but could be worth exploring as every bit helps, and as there is a game scheduled we may as well make the most of it.

Poll: Who Do You Hold Most Responsible For Our Situation?
Neil replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
Guy Askham is ultimately the single most responsible person for the situation we're now in, if you're taking a holistic view of Saints history. Of course Lowe (the man Askham let in) should shoulder a lot of the blame for dividing the fanbase, and Wilde for allowing Whisky George to **** up £7m and commit us to ridiculous wages. -
I won't be attending a match at SMS until Begbies Traynor have been removed, I will stick to my guns on this one and maintain a principled approach...

Channon often seems to hit the crossbar in these major races, or the horse goes lame on the eve of the race (Queen's Logic in the '02 1000 Guineas). Maybe he's got that curse that afflicts people who've stayed in Southampton too long!

I'm going with 5 others on Saturday, I don't think any of those 5 have been to more than one other home game this season. I'll be there for the last two home games and will try to get as many as possible along to spend cash within the stadium as well. The fans will return, although it may take a bit longer than the Charlton game, but they'd better not wait too long!
-
I wonder if Guy Askham is sleeping well at the moment?

War Of Attrition is out of the race, a good result for the bookies. Niche Market looks like no. 44 after the 5-day decs, so would need four more to pull out, think there are four reserves but not sure? Would guess he's unlikely to run but keep your ear to the ground.

Anyone backing (Mick Channon's) Youmzain in the Dubai Sheema Classic at Nad Al Sheba - 4.40? Form is 2/52132- Runner-up in the last two Arcs, 5th in this last year although went out earlier this time to prepare. Tissue price was c.9/2.

One for the future? In keeping with Rupert's policy of playing youngsters... Who's this Boyle, anyone know anything about him?

The Dell v SMS factor is massively over-rated by people who don't really get to the crux of the matter (and I'm speaking as someone who loved the Dell). The atmosphere at the Carling Cup game v Skates or Cup QF v Wolves were louder than anything I heard at the Dell, albeit I only started going to Dell in mid-to-late 80s. (When Pahars headed us into the lead v Charlton for the first SMS win the roar was massive) With the right people running the club and enough people united behind the club I think we'd have won a lot more at SMS, and the perception of the Dell factor would have been a bit different.

The 11-stone rule has probably been the single most important factor over recent years. (although noted above that Hedgehunter just broke the rule in '05, when carrying 11-1) Bit early, but here are the 88 entries (40 to race): http://horses.sportinglife.com/Racecards/0,12495,294298,00.html

This is basically official confirmation that the new stadium will never happen, as widely predicted on this forum for many years! Hilarious given the boasts of a few deluded skates! And once you start talking about 'stages' as Pompey always do with any new ground developments you're always in trouble, as the latter (if any) stages never seem to happen. So I suspect they may do the first one to 25k and then leave it at that!
-
Alresford according to the Echo! SO postcode, so that will do for me, plus she's more than passable. Surely the Saints Web Forum favourite, unless she turns out to be really annoying and jumped-up...
-
That would be a very good Cheltenham for a lot of punters!

Great work setting up this forum, cheers to the Mods/Admins!

I know we've had this before, but can someone remind me what the obligation is for number of away tickets in the CCC? Think Premiership was smaller of 3,000 or 10% capacity, but don't know for CCC. We'd sell 4,500 for Forest easily if we get them!
-
If Lowe & Wilde are gone, and prices are reasonable (c£345), I would get a season ticket for the CCC or League One next season.
-
I don't think we've got a cat in hell's chance of predicting the other results this week, or saying who's got an easy or hard game. (the last few weeks have made a mockery of a lot of form / predictions) We must beat Derby, and probably QPR as well.
-
10 wins will definitely keep us up! (although wouldn't want to leave it until Forest game) Bad day at the office, need two home wins now just to keep in touch and then a "must win" at Blackpool.
-
Price has been trimmed again after yesterday evening's late capitulation. Top price 12/5 with Betdaq. 7/4 with Coral/Ladbrokes/W Hill. Stan James offer just 5/4!
-
I'm away for the Preston game anyway but would support anything like this, will join in anything for future home games.

Don't think we were 7th when Nichol was sacked, we finished a lot lower the following season and got spanked 6-2 at relegated Derby which was the final straw for Askham & co. Take your point though, the previous (fantastic) season when we were 7th probably raised expectations which couldn't be met the following season. Although if we'd known B******t was lined up we'd all have been happy to keep Nichol!
