Two new big LED screens at St Mary's for 2012/13
Neil replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Surely the ST sales will be a lot more than 14,000 by the start of the coming season, would be hoping for around 20k? Better hope that all 180,000+ don't turn up at the same game, not sure that bridge over the railway line will be able to cope... -
To be honest, whilst Bruce is a bit of a gimp, he's by no means the worst of all the managers. I just hope that some of the PL managers next season are also underestimating us.
-
Don't think so, I think they've been blue for about 100 years, and were "chocolate and amber" before that. A few questions over the amount of "investment", and how much of the loans would be converted to equity... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/football-news/2012/06/14/tan-91466-31185062/ Stadium to increase to 35k, although no timescale, can ony imagine that will be if/when they get to Prem, but Malaysians may bail out before that ever happens.

Anyone know how the first week of renewals have gone, hopefully looking at a very high uptake of renewals with only a few exceptions?
-
Please can everyone renew. Every renewal is one extra seat which can't be taken by a Premier League JCL. Of course the Championship JCLs are already in the house (waves Hartlepool away ticket in the air), but better a Championship JCL than a Premier League JCL...

Great news for us that Liverpool, Swansea and Norwich are already screwed for next season. Our chances of finishing above Swansea and Norwich have increased, and we've got a reasonable chance of taking points off Liverpool. Can only hope that Martinez (even if he stays) has disrupted Wigan by hawking himself around.

Maxwell registered for T20! Some 19-ball 50s would be good! And his off-spin could be handy. http://www.ageasbowl.com/news/hampshire-register-glenn-maxwell-for-friends-life-t20

Talking of footballers behaving badly, Ched Evans 'released' by Sheffield United today, along with 10 other players including Beattie. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18264057 He could be paroled after 2.5 years, which clubs will be queuing up to buy him?
-
I think they also have planning permission for a 38k capacity (and wealthy prospective new owners), so no time to waste and even more reason to maximise season ticket sales 100%.
-
If Reading have already announced ST prices, and their window for new business is earlier than ours, we could potentially lose a few ST holders from the Basingstoke area to them. If they are just floating fans who want to watch Premiership football. I'm not suggesting this is likely to be a very large number, and we could argue that these are the kind of 'fans' we could do without in the stadium, but it's all extra £££ potentially lost!
-
Arsenal and Wigan as they are the only Prem grounds I've not seen Saints play at. Newcastle / Sunderland for the weekenders if fixture computer delivers, would be staying in Toon for either.
-
Why are we so slow at announcing ticket prices (inc season ticket prices)?

I wish they would get the STs on sale a bit quicker, or at least give the supporters some expectation of when they will need to have the money available so that they can budget accordingly, however much it is. It smacks of just seeing the fans as cash cows who will just pay up as and when they are told to. To be fair for this coming season they will see us as cash cows even more, but they shouldn't be too complacent. -
No.

If we can still be in the Premier at the end of the 5YP (i.e. 2014), and have a capacity of 40,000, I'd be very happy with that. Europa League would be a bonus. In fact I'd be happy just to still be in the Premier in another two years.

Cricket at Rose Bowl and Test v SA at Oval. London 7s at Twickenham. Golf. Beer Festivals. Beggars Fayre. A stag do. Olympics and Euro 12 although not very excited about those.

Doesn't a pendulum normally swing on a regular basis? I think that Mr Husband didn't want to offend anyone (i.e. pompey fans) with this article, hence it was pretty dull and pointless. I notice he mentioned building blocks but didn't mention Saints average crowds in League 1...

Anyone in the queue at SMS is at a distinct advantage to me, as sooner or later they'll get to the front of the queue! Currently can't even get into any queue on phone, and internet sales is stuffed.
-
Can't get through on phone on t'internet.

Taken a punt on a Saturday night in Boro in the end what with the late match finish and can't be arsed to travel anywhere else. Any tips for pubs / clubs / curry houses would be appreciated...

A rough translation of Hammers calling us "Lambert FC" is "West Ham's strikers are ****e". Long may it continue, although I believe we only needed a centre back's goals to take 4 points off Hammers this season!
-
Will have a trawl through the Saints History books this week, the historians and more experienced fans may be able to confirm, but I can't imagine there has ever been a bigger Saints-Pompey game than this one, the implications for both sides are potentially huge. There are so many reasons for wanting to win this game, never will 3 points have tasted sweeter!
-
Wall of noise. Remember the skate team have **** themselves at the Dell and SMS before, and some of their current players I reckon could **** themselves on Saturday.
-
Thanks, but for clarity I wasn't suggesting that selling Oxo was the trigger to go ahead and start rebuilding Staplewood. Just wondering if the fee would conveniently enough cover the cost, which with add-ons etc even at the quoted £15m it may be close to.
-
Will the Oxo Chambo fee cover Staplewood rebuild cost?

The whole away stand has a restricted view anyway, as it's a complete ****hole. Seats bolted onto terracing, would have been better left as terracing! Still should be carnage and a great atmosphere, don't expect to sit/stand exactly where your seat is, people generally just stand anywhere they fancy and there won't be stewards around to enforce it.
