  1. Just heard the tail end of his spiel ! Full of sh#t, no substance, what a **** !!
  2. Having spent a lot of time in China, I would recommend Mandarin ! The spoken word is actually not as difficult as you may imagine but the writing is almost impossible to decipher, which makes learning more challenging ! I only speak it a little but it's great fun when you get going !
  3. Surely you should have turned into a Skate then ??
  4. Wtfiln
  5. I note that some of you will be in the George on the Strand on Friday ! I am ending a pubcrawl of the City about 15.30 in that area, will you still be there then ? Warning in advance - I may be a bit p!ssed but I'm always well behaved (just tend to slur a bit!).
  6. I feel sure that Chinney's lawyers will try to prove (from the off) that it is a property developer that is buying Fatpipes and the land, therefore it is not a PST bid at all ! (This must be the reason for non disclosure of the confirmed pledges so far!). As Trev has been playing up the 'Trust or Bust' card, surely competent lawyers should be able to attack that argument with ease ?? Once they have achieved this, the whole situation changes and the threat of liquidating the plucky bestest is no longer a heart-wrenching decision for the judge, it simply becomes a contest between one reptile and another !
  7. I did mine online and it said that my 'season card' would be updated to include this match ! Cost me £1.50 on top of the £25 ticket !
  8. Sadly there are still many people who base their judgement on solely on the last result ! It is almost impossible to rise from div 3 to the top league in consecutive seasons and continue to win consistently ! We all had opinions on which players were able to make the step up and which were not, but in reality you only know for sure when this is tried and tested ! Likewise tactics and substitutions, everyone is an expert and views differ enormously ! Sensible thinkers will take a longer term view and be confident that stability will bring rewards, those who call for the guillotine after a run of say 4 or 5 defeats, are nothing more than kneejerk reactionaries who should reflect more on the genuine efforts of those who strive for success on behalf of us all !!
  9. Classic ! I loved the bit where he asked about why they changed interviewers
  10. The problem here is that 'belief' is all in the mind and it is often only a short step from brainwashing/indoctrination ! The interpretation of bibles and scriptures can vary wildly and the 'qualified' people you refer to are able to emphasise their own bias should they choose ! Personally I don't want any of my family to be subjected to this ! Schools are for education and rightly is compulsory ! Religion is for churches and should be through choice !
  11. I was around in those days and fairly young children were considered to be safe on the streets, therefore were given much more freedom than today and the opportunity for exploitation was tangible ! Another big downside was that 'authority' was the exclusive preserve of adults and if there was any abuse, the child would be extremely reluctant (ashamed even) to report it ! With the benefit of hindsight, the main offenders were often figures of power (ie. the Catholic church, scout leaders, celebrities, politicians, local dignitaries etc..) and in the previous generation the aristocracy took advantage of their minions and got away with it ! Yes times have changed, but respect for your fellow man (and particularly child !) should have no boundaries ! There is a lot of political correctness around these days which makes some people feel all-knowing and superior but paedophilia and racism still exist so who knows whether morality is better or worse than in former times ??
  12. It's a bloody long way to Uruguay and back in a couple of days ! Hope he's not knackered come Saturday, even if he makes it back at all ??
  13. I was extremely saddened by the demise of the pound note, just not the same wiping your arse with a coin, would be a bit dodgy if it got lodged up there
  14. Only 32 ? Bl**dy plastic !
  15. Interesting that both Reading and WHU are so much higher than us having spent the same time in the same leagues over the period analyzed ! I'm delighted to see these figures as I totally object to any of my ticket money going to these leeches ! The players should pay a fee to their agents as they work on their behalf ! I see no reason why the clubs should pay them at all !!

  17. This ..
  18. Mmmm.... I may be in a minority of one, but I reckon that he is ever so slightly better than Gazza, Kelv and Fatboy put together !!!
  19. Yeah, but at the same time Sunderland will lose and give us another team to close in on ..........
  20. Even as Skate 'legends' go, this could be the shortest yet !! You couldn't make it up
  21. In the (very) old days I used to go around the world first class with PanAm for £1499 (2 or 3 times a year) ! Any amount of stops but you couldn't go back on yourself and I even got airmiles which gave me loads of personal travel on top ! Flight PanAm 1 went around eastwards and PanAm 2 went westwards with plenty of stopping points ! The only slight problem was that most PanAm staff were old and useless! Mostly we went shopping in USA and then on to Asia for proper business, a bit tiring at times especially as I once did it in 10 days ! Better stop now as I'm beginning to sound like Dubai_Phil
  22. Tbf, I heard the discussion on the radio and thought that MLT was pretty restrained in his comments and not looking for a dig at Cortese ! He was calm, even- handed and only mentioned that some (others) had suggested there might be issues behind the scenes, he did not stir the sh#t at all, so some of the responses here areva bit over the top IMHO !!
  23. After yesterdays result, I think they are going to have to get the cheque book out and spend big time (just to be competitive, you understand)! At least with the bestest new owners about to come in, there won't be anything to hold them back
  24. So Exeter agreed a CVA of £350k on a debt of £4.5 mil and the Skates agreed (???) a CVA of £800k on debts of £160 mil !! Exeter has 2,500 trust contributors, Skates have (maybe!) 1,800 ! Conclusion = Pompey is a much bigger club ! Logic, innit
  25. For the first time in my adult life I did not vote ! Reason - I did not receive one single piece of information regarding any candidate (I still don't even know who the candidates actually are) ! I guess that I was expected to surf the net and do my own legwork but TBH I couldn't be bothered and now expect to have some loony who I've never heard of fighting my corner for justice if I ever have a problem ! The whole thing has been an expensive fiasco ! Hey ho and off we go !!
