  1. Where's the match thread?
  2. I doubt that any of our Premier League competitors would consider us to be either arrogant or sanctimonious ! Only the Skates believe this because, by your own admission, they are 'unimaginative' (thick!), 'underclass' (pikeys!), 'fan numbers not especially loyal' (the few!), 'evoke strong opinions' (cheating b#stards!) - TBF though, you can be quite noisy but the corrugated roofs may well be the cause of this !!
  3. Is he related to David Nixon the magician ?? If so, this would explain a lot
  4. Put me down for the Potless Supporters Trust
  5. Glad you cleared that up, and there was me thinking that Andy Andronikou's granny may have been somehow involved with this company (now dissolved and never having shown any accounts, ever...?). There are fishy smells and fishy smells, but this one still smells fishy to me
  6. For : "We have always stated that the only way forward for any club is to keep the stadium and the club under common ownership" ! Please read : "It's my f#cking stadium and I'm keeping it" !
  7. With you all the way ! Pleased that I will be in the stadium and not here on the match day thread which is full of some incredibly fickle and negative prats !! COYS
  8. I watched the programme and was also very impressed with Neville's articulate explanation of our defensive display v Arsenal ! His points were logical and valid but not actually that easy to correct ! Ie. if our shape was in completely in order, there is not much more you can do on the training ground to better it. It seems that the system is ok but that the quality of our players perhaps is not !! TBF, he also said that Arsenal were awesome on the day, so hopefully we won't get crucified in the same way by other (lesser?) teams !!
  9. TBF Art, I think that the gap between the rich and poor has widened dramatically since we were last in the top league and these shock results are less and less prevalent ! We are in a league of about 12 and do need to perform in those matches ! I accept that Wigan was a big let down but hopefully we have learned from it and can find a way to win against this sort of opposition !
  10. A superbly worded alternative to "a bunch of thick Skates" !
  11. Best examples : Man Utd Arsenal Everton Stoke Wigan Worst examples : Teams that change their manager every year or so (too many to list)! You can exclude Man City and Chelsea as they throw silly money away, but generally speaking there is no advantage whatsoever in having a medium/long term plan and then changing manager after a run of bad results IMO ! Look at Wolves last year, they were in a relegation dogfight, sacked McCarthy and things went from bad to worse ! The football world today is full of idiots who think that the solution to every short term problem is to sack the manager. It may serve to appease the mob but does nothing to achieve longer term stability for the club ! All IMHO of course !
  12. If I could catch the little barsteward that keeps digging up my lawn, I'd shoot it myself ! (Have to admit though that I don't actually have a gun:))
  13. Nobody is 'blaming' the fixture list but rational, sensible football people would accept that we were faced with a pretty awesome start to this Premier league campaign ! Even Big Sam on the Sky 'Goals on Sunday' programme this morning conceded that we had been unfortunate with our early opponents and said that a hammering from one of the top clubs was inevitable now and then during the season ! As for the Villa and Everton matches, no point in prejudging anything IMO although it seems that you have already decided that we will lose both !!
  14. Spot on, on both points made !!
  15. I think that Nigel has been overly sentimental on this issue, sure Kelvin's dedication and loyalty deserves some reward but not at the price of losing matches on a regular basis ! Goals conceded at the the near post (in 3 games so far!), clearance kicks straight to the opposition, no command of the box at set pieces, these problems are very clear to see ! Each match so far, I have had texts and calls from (non Saints supporting!) mates saying that he is our weakest link, this cannot be a coincidence ! I am the last person to condemn any of our players but do feel strongly that we have to act sooner rather than later to sort this out ! (ps. no hindsight on my part, as I started a thread about this at the end of last season!)
  16. Who is responsible for the fixture list ? At the moment that seems a more appropriate question than anything else ! Let's calm down and see how things pan out, eh ? With the start that we were faced with, there was always going to be a 'moanfest' from the perennial 'bedwetters' and sure as hell, out they came ! After two consecutive promotions and a couple of encouraging performances against the top sides, I (for one!) am more than willing to give both the team and management a chance to settle and am happy to support whatever they do in an extremely difficult league ! COYS
  17. Yeah, just a pity that he only visited Farton Krap and not the Emirates today !!
  18. Not quite, that'll fix the fat in the pipes but the clock will still not be working !!!
  19. In business and in life "it's all about timing"! Approximately 8 months after administration, with 2 unacceptable bids on the table, (abbracadabra...) an anonymous bid from the middle east arrives on Trevor's desk ! "Manna from Heaven" declare the deluded few, up pops the ice cream salesman and yet again, everything in the garden is rosy !! You couldn't make it up, you really couldn't.........
  20. I had a (small) bill from the garage which I wasn't billed for but subsequently got 2 other bigger bills from later dates which I paid promptly ! I wondered if they'd forgotten or were just incompetent, until 4 months later a bill arrived in the post, seems that the mechanic who did that job is subcontracted and useless with paperwork so they took time to catch up ! Things happen, but the onus is on the trader to issue a payment notice, the customer only has to react when invoiced, makes sense to me !!
  21. Use simple common sense and any form of logic and the answer is 'yes' ! It is only because the Skates are involved that any doubt appears !
  22. He's probably down here looking to buy a horse or visiting stables etc... 2+2 does not always add up to 5 !!
  23. Yeah but can he play on the right at the same time ??
  24. A friend of mine had that problem, he just left it hoping that it would fix itself ! Eventually it blew up, causing extensive damage to the utility area and part of the kitchen (I kid you not !), they were bloody lucky that the whole place didn't explode ! I strongly suggest that you get a man in to look at it, cos if you don't you never know what will happen !!
