Are you sure of that Steve, it just doesn't make sense to me as surely "non contract" must work both ways ?? I understand your point about registration but can't see that the Skates are in any position to hold these guys to ransom ? Even cr@ppy players like these must have agents who study the rules before committing them to a totally one-sided contract (or 'non' as the case may be!).

I know that it is a bit of a nonsense but that is what the Skates said at the time and if this is correct then the players were free agents at the point of the transfer deadline ! Nigel was roundly praised for his substitutions at Man City with Lambert and Davis coming on, both scoring and immediately changing the game ! The fact is that he must live or die by his own decisions, that is his job and he is not afraid to make important calls ! FWIW I thought he got it badly wrong yesterday but I also think that he is big enough to both realise it and learn from it ! I guess also that many of us were surprised by the original lineup but that seemed to work amazingly well !!

I had 3 separate taxts from different non Saints supporting mates after the City and Utd games which they watched live on Sky and all 3 (without prompting!) reckoned that our keeper looked a bit suspect/dodgy ! The trust intend to settle with the former players at £2 million so if Chinny were to amend his offer to, say, £3million then surely that is a better deal for the creditors ? It would also be in keeping with his style of 'profit by opportunity' ! Having said that, the offer of paying the players £8.5 million over 4 years is probably a better bet for him as he wouldn't think twice over defaulting on the deal (I'm sure his mate AA has a number of cunning solutions up his sleeve, ready and waiting!).
