The strong implication was that our 'relegation rivals' had already ditched their managers and that we should consider that Pardew has until Xmas otherwise he will be out ! I have a question for those who think that 10 games is enough time to be successful and not be sacked for lack of results : When you appoint a quality new manager to replace the outgoing one, what length of contract would you offer him ???

Simples it is not ! Take Hammond as an example last night - he worked like a Trojan, he had a good game, he was no doubt battered and bruised at the end of it ! Yes, we lost the match but what does he have to apologise for ? The only realistic response to that defeat is to roll up your sleeves, bond with your mates and get on with it and that is pretty much what he said !
