  1. Bloody lottery now !
  2. Sounds like we are missing Trotski and Jaidi big time !
  3. Looks like 4-4-2 is the best option then ??
  4. I have a question for those who think that 10 games is enough time to be successful and not be sacked for lack of results : When you appoint a quality new manager to replace the outgoing one, what length of contract would you offer him ???
  5. Simples it is not ! Take Hammond as an example last night - he worked like a Trojan, he had a good game, he was no doubt battered and bruised at the end of it ! Yes, we lost the match but what does he have to apologise for ? The only realistic response to that defeat is to roll up your sleeves, bond with your mates and get on with it and that is pretty much what he said ! Pray tell me what you would have said in his position ?????
  6. Then their only option is to say nothing and only comment when we win ! What's the betting that they'd get slagged off for that too ??
  7. He should have used his nozzle !!
  8. I think it's probably best that you don't visit the OS then because it's highly unlikely that they'll say " things can only get worse because we are pretty sh#t and can't really be arsed " ! In any unit you have to believe and to get others to join with you. Nobody ever achieved anything through negativity !
  9. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1812494,00.html See 46th Min - Lambert. Also on Solent last night after the game they said that the ref had confirmed it !
  10. Disagree, it was right in front of me and you could clearly see Hammond's shirt was almost ripped off his back !
  11. Just for the record, he did not score a goal !The ball had clearly crossed the line from where I was sitting in the Kingsland and(more importantly) the ref confirmed after the game that he awarded the goal before Papa tapped it in !!! Ps. IMO he showed potential and a few glimpses of possible class, but still too early to assess properly !
  12. I agree with you Chris, the negative aftermath of a defeat, particularly after being ahead twice and losing to an injury time winner is understandable ! In the wider context I refuse to believe that we will be relegated, as this squad of players will pull us through even if only by a limited margin ! A five year plan, constructed by intelligent people, will not be destroyed after 2 months because of knee jerk and emotive reactions in the wake of disappointing results ! It is hard for all of us to endure this ongoing period of frustration but there is no other way at this moment in time, sacking the manager would take us right back to square one, so what is the point ???
  13. There is a very fine line between success and failure in any game these days ! In the 94th min we had a strong penalty claim denied (against Hammond) and 30 secs later we are 3-2 down and the game is lost ! Schneiderlin and lallana both had excellent chances to put us 2 goals up at one stage in the 2nd half but both were scorned ! After the match on this forum there are 5 different threads about the manager, his performance and his future ! I realise that today's culture is all about immediate results but I cannot abide opinions which castigate one man to the exclusion of all else ! From what I can see he is working hard, with solid principles and pretty good judgement, sure, time will tell if he can achieve success but all this overkill after 10 games is a joke ! All IMHO of course.
  14. You wot ?? You've obviously spent a long time out there !
  15. I reckon that we owe them one for that horrendous cup defeat on the telly last year ! COYS
  16. Personally I do have a bit of sympathy for him! He is used as a utility player and is normally the one to switch position in order to accomodate subs and/or change of system during a match! My main concern when he plays at RB though, is that he is very slow to turn and has very little pace to recover when the forward gets goalside of him ! If I were the opposition manager I would exploit this weakness and get my winger to skin him whenever possible ! If Murty/Thomas are going to be out for a while then (as someone has already suggested!) I think we need a loan to cover this position !! Ps. he is a steady CM in my opinion !
  17. We are now pretty settled and are playing at home therefore it is one that I would expect us to win, even if only by a narrow margin ! 'Must win', 'six pointer' etc, etc.. is just a way of saying that the time has come for us to stand up and be counted in this league ! If we draw or lose it's not the end of the world, but it will surely hinder our development in the short term at least ! 1 - 0 Saints (Lambert)
  18. That takes practise and requires us to score more goals too ! Now that would be worth celebrating !!
  19. Tommy will be on the bench for tomorrow night, that's my Forecast anyway !!
  20. Surely if Le Tiss had been suspended it would have come out in the press ! He's probably just on holiday !
  21. Is that the Harding who won player of the month last month ??
  22. Give him a break Alps, surely living with you is punishment enough ???
