I think it's important to look at each club situation in isolation. Whatever team performance problems Charlton and Norwich had were not exacerbated by severe boardroom discord and subsequent administration, leading to the edge of oblivion ! SFC has had to rebuild from scratch, it has had to reassure employees who were paid late for 2 months and feared for their jobs, it has totally revamped the coaching and scouting structure as well as the management and the players ! Sure , a lot of teams have had upheaval but ours has been exceptional from top to bottom and (without making excuses for poor results) IMHO what has been achieved in 2 short months has been nothing short of remarkable ! In all leagues you can compare one team to another but individual circumstances tend to impact in different ways, perhaps we will slump to a lower trough and then hit a higher peak, who knows ? Only time will tell, but in terms of sensible, rational planning and recruitment I consider that they are doing a great job ! The next step (clearly) is to put all the pieces together and create a winning mentality, thus ensuring that ability and motivation go hand in hand ! I can see it coming, I really can !!

Don't know if it's a relevant comparison but in league 2 (4th div) Sol Campbell is on £2mil per year for 5 years = £10mil which is roughly double what you just quoted for our whole team ! I have to say that I'm pleased we got the sensible businessman and they didn't !!!

Thread title : "Only one person to blame - Pardew" ! I realise that a 'blame culture' exists in this country today, but is it really necessary to always react in this way ? Surely a 'support culture' would reap more benefits ? Within the last 2 months the club has been turned upside down and inside out, therefore everyone should be pulling together to get things right ! If AP were to read this thread, do you really think that he would be motivated by it ? Surely we want him to feel good, not depressed ! Maybe I should start another thread with the title : "One person badly needs our support - Pardew" !

As they went before ML took over, this income would undoubtedly have paid the existing bills and partly the creditors ! Any deals since then have (apart from rasiak) been incoming, so I feel sure that he has footed the total bill !

The way he runs reminds me of Anders Svennson ! I thought he played well in the Brentford game and expect that he will become a real lynchpin in our midfield. He has all-round qualities, keeps his head up whilst running which is a great asset when making 'killer' passes !
