Wotton does not need to be made a scapegoat, he does not need to be booed but he does need to be DROPPED ! We are still a poor team and he is the weakest link (IMHO). Mellis James Schneiderlin Holmes Lallana Lambert Mellis has pace and (I think) can play wide right. James could sit tight in the middle and keep it simple. Schneiderlin can spray it about. Holmes is a natural left winger. Lallana can play just behind the striker. Lambert is the spearhead. I am assuming that Raz and Saga will be on their bikes and that we will not have new signings by Tuesday night ! TBF I am struggling to get an ideal formation but given what we have at the moment maybe this setup might work ???? Please feel free to tear me to shreds !

I disagree with your comment re. MLT but at the same time my expectations are low, so bang goes another of your presumptions ! I have a question for you "do you seriously think that MLT had any intention of harming the club at any time" ?My assertion is that he made a mistake by backing the wrong horse but that his intentions were at all times honourable !!

I wonder if you have ever seen either play ?? Whatever one thinks of their respective abilities, they are chalk and cheese in respect of their style and I think that is the main point being made ie. he would gel better with Schneiderlin !

For a pleasant change I agree with you 19c except that I don't think that MLT has been tarnished. The vast majority of Saints fans realise that he only ever acted in the best interests of saving the club therefore should not be chastised for it !

I've mentioned on other threads that his skills are limited even for this league ! He needs to be replaced by someone with vision who will slot in alongside Schneiderlin to dominate play in the centre of midfield !
