19C, you could cause a fight in an empty house ! This thread was about the meeting of kindred spirits in an unexpected place and all of a sudden you are having a verbal punch up about social inequality (I think!). No wonder you are infamous !!

Not too high really, I reckon he is no better than Jaidi and we are after him !

Have done corporate at a number of clubs (mainly London) but never at SMS ! Main reason is that I am happy beside my cronies in my regular ST seat ! I will give it a go sometime though, just to compare !

Just one short of a full team there ! (Did the other one get sent off then ?) BTW, I agree with you !

FWIW I think that he is an ok player (not great!) but would be far more effective than Wotton alongside Schneiderlin because he doesn't sit deep all the time, he moves around ! PW and MS together both sit deep and consequently you lose forward momentum ! As MS can spray accurate long passes and Wotton cannot, therefore I would keep MS as the deep player with Gillet as a more advanced playmaker !

It is 4-4-2 and everybody seems to know what they are required to do ! (Nb. this is the first time in a very long time that you have heard this from me) ! So far it has not exactly been flowing football but equally neither has it been kick and rush! The attitude seems right and I get the impression that the players realise there is no room for slackers (even Rasiak) ! I reckon that it will take some more time before we can define the actual 'style' but I do sense positive progress in the overall approach to competitive games !!

Let me be the third person to back these changes ! I know that we were ok last night but remember it was only a poor Northampton side ! IMHO Lancs and Wotto do not have the quality and Pato is not yet at Razza's standard ! (Nb. this could all change if we get 1 or 2 signings this week as I expect!).

If your name is Danielle and you were to post a nice saucy pic then I feel sure that you will have a queue of takers ! In the meantime wait for a slow trickle of interest ............

Just logged in now and the AP interview is (as has been pointed out) like a chicken constantly f@rting ! Some of you seem to have had it rectified but not me yet !!

It is indeed a funny old game, eh ? Good post BTW !

Oh well, not very sure what his exact position was as a player but I sincerely hope that he becomes a manager with 'striking' success !!!!

Some t0sser who can't score goals ??

Davis Murty Thomas Perry Harding Thomson Gillet Schneiderlin Mills (if fit) Lambert Rasiak (if fit)

Or an 'attack minded' defender !!

1 game v the Scousers does not prove that he was not a defender! Does anybody on here have direct contact to him to actually ask him ??

I saw him play many times for CP against Saints and he never ventured over the halfway line so I must be right, no ????

http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=6101 On here it says defender ! Of the first 3 posts on this thread we have mention of defender, attacker and midfielder ! Either he was very versatile or nobody knows anything !!!!

Have had an argument with my son who reckons that Pardew was a forward player in his day but I reckon that he was always a defender !! Can anybody provide some proof that I am right (as always!) and he is wrong ???? Tks !

Apart from a few arseholes on here, I would say YES the famous spirit has returned ! Onwards and upwards ! COYS

You what ?? I don't remember Jake getting his head to any ball in his short time on as a sub !!

100% Spot on ! So far nobody has identified exactly where he could be most effective and for sure (after yesterday) wide left of midfield is not the place ! He has ability, but it needs to be channeled in the right direction to get the best out of him and the team ! With a bit of luck AP will find a niche for him and then we'll reap the benefits, until then he will still frustrate the hell out of us !!!!

Strange thing is that I can't remember a really good ball either !!!!

I blame Alright_Dave for making a 6 hour drive, time for a couple of pints and then straight to the stadium to apply his jinx on the team ! He will be at the Northampton cup game as well so please don't waste your money and bet on us to win !!!! (Despite hundreds of pounds and tens of hours travelling, he has not seen us win for more than 3 years !!). Sad but true!

Schneiderlin plays deep and specialises in accurate long passes ! Wotton plays deep and specialises in not a lot ! It is not a good, natural central midfield pairing, particularly as James and Lallana do not provide pace or width ! IMO the midfield was the weakness yesterday and did little to protect the defence or support the attack ! Mills and/or Holmes will definitely give us better shape and I still reckon that Gillet is a better bet than Wotton alongside Schneiderlin but then again I am not the manager ! I'm sure that AP has been able to assess his players better after their first competitive game and let's hope that he can fill the gaps pretty quickly !
