I must say that it was also my impression that SFC suppliers would be paid but the big boys (Aviva and Barclays) would lose out ! The reason for this being that the FL would not impose further sanctions if football debts were settled (some sort of CVA or equivalent) ???

I look forward to the following : 1) Goals going in at my end of the stadium (Chapel end) ! 2) Winning home games ! 3) The wife not saying "I told you they would lose" ! If those 3 things come to pass then we might just make the play-offs !

Forget the 'Sky' curse and the 'opening day' curse ! My son is coming over from Belgium and he normally brings his own curse (hasn't seen them win for about 3 years!). If we lose I will be cursing as usual, but that's a slightly different type of curse .............

I guess that he was being a bit flippant, but if you consider that both Surman and Skacel were listed on the OS as midfielders then the point is that we have not really had a consistent 'specialist' left back for a long while now ! Ps. sometimes our subs in that position have been starnge as well, I remember Jake Thomson being forced to play there late last season !

Having spent many, many thousands of pounds over a number of years following the Saints (even had 2 ST's when I lived abroad!) I do not consider that I should feel shame over missing a meaningless pre-season friendly ! If there was a message to be sent out, then the welcome party for the new owner was last week, the first game of the new season is in 2 weeks time but in between there are just warm-up games ! Your suggestion that 4,500 care and that the rest do not is nothing less than an insult to a great number of genuine Saints supporters !

How damaging do you think the Pinnacle fiasco will be..?
eurosaint replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Thanks FF, not being ITK in any way, I tend to rely on official statements and in the case of the £500k it was only ever reported that Pinnacle paid for exclusivity ! LC has indeed done his bit as a 'true Saint' and I do have the utmost respect for him and thank God that he actually had the money to squander ! I hope that he is in a position to sue the barstewards who stitched him up, but then again he might just put it down to experience and move on supporting his beloved club !! -

I know DD, I'm trembling in anticipation of the inevitable backlash !!!! -

No offence taken FF but please note that I did not present anything as a FACT ! I used the wording "if, as reported" and "perhaps" mainly because nobody has officially said that LC paid the £500k on behalf of Pinnacle ! Playing devil's advocate, however - if LC did pay the money then he (at the very least) gave tacit approval to their bid and I wonder why he is to be judged as a hero and they as the villians when they played a combined part in the delay of the sale to ML ??? -
No idea but I guess now that the Dutch have gone he will not be contacted ! I'm sure that AP can come up with a few alternatives at CB for this level ! Brick sh#thouses should not be that hard to find ??

Clearly the Pinnacle bid held things up by a few weeks but (if, as reported) they were the only ones willing to put up the £500k deposit which paid the May wages then perhaps they actually saved us ! In any case it's history, just like Rupert, just like Branfoot, just like World War 2 ! Perhaps we should reflect on the fact that further damage could be done to the club by dredging up subjects like this as they could affect supporter unity and cause ongoing embarrassment to one of our greatest legends !! -
Too true, God knows what will happen if we lose the first couple of games ? Some people seem to think that you can wave a magic wand and everything will be wonderful, I'm not sure if it's naiveity or just plain thick !

Is he better than Olly Lancashire, I ask myself ??

Fabulous, Fascinating Stuff ??????????????
-
Let me think now, we had an incredibly young squad already (also refusing to play the few older heads for cost reasons) so we went into the market and got - Forecast, Pulis, Gasmi, Robertson, Pekhart, Smith etc... Beats me why they got 'slaughtered', it really does ????
-
Sorry St Richmond, it WAS a strategy ! A very, very crap one, but it was a strategy !

There are none so blind as those who will not see !
-
You can be sure of that ! We could no doubt even name names in advance !
-
Good summary (beat me to it!). I thought that both Brazil and the Skate were very supportive and realistic as well !!
-
Spot on ! There will never be a system which pleases everybody, but this season in particular has been exceptional because of time constraints etc.. Personally I think the ticket office has done a good job in difficult circumstances !
-
Bl**dy hell, sign him up sharpish !!
-
Particularly like the Murrayfield picture, that truly is a great football stadium, a bit like Lords really !!!
-
Wash yer mouth out son, I just got my shirt printed with 'PULIS 21' today !!! How cool is that ??
-
The OP says that only the Itchen and Kingsland are open so you must be lying ?????
-
I reckon that is exactly what he is doing and then checking out if they are available on a Bosman, if not, then I imagine he will plug the gaps by paying transfer fees ! TBH I would do the same with my own money as basically you can always make mistakes with players whether they are cheap or astronomically expensive !!! Ps. Trousers, you are my favourite poster and I don't like to see you in a mood so please don't put me on your list of bogeymen !!
