That is tantamount to an admission of being the Skate that we always suspected !

I am sure that we are all delighted to get a good away win under our belts ! Scooby, many thanks for your pathetic little attempt at humour/wind-up ! It brings an added smile to my face on this sunny Saturday afternoon ! Ps. Once a w@nker, always a w@nker !!

On the bright side - undefeated in last 3 league games ! On the other hand - must start winning at home ! For all the doom and gloom we are out of the relegation places! Let's keep some perspective and hope for the best !

Only compare or aspire to the best, never cheap imitations ! Ps. I meant youngsters on this board not the nippers in our team (maybe they should take a look as well evn if it's almost 50 years ago !).

I managed 133 replies on a very simple thread ! I reckon that I should try another similar one soon ! Watch this space !

I reckon I will, don't ask me why, I just will !!

My father-in-law was in the same regiment at the same time! Sadly (or perhaps fortunately) he is not around to read the crass and insulting remarks that you make regarding the city where he was born and lived all his life! To compare human behaviour in war times to attendance at a football match is, to say the least, frivolous and at worst contemptible ! I think that the old boy would be happy that I am supporting his beloved Saints and that would be enough for him! He saw plenty of ups and downs in watching his team over the years but never, ever talked about or made comparisons to his wartime experiences! Next time GM please try to make your point without resorting to red top tabloid sensationalism !

That'l take some beating ! LOL

Bl**dy women !!!

I am not arguing with you Mom, honest I'm not ! I think that we basically agree that whatever we do it ain't gonna be perfect cos we just ain't got the tools for the job! No it doesn't look good, it sure doesn't ! Ps. Mom is always right !

No wonder you are unpopular !

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/home/?page_id=8719 We have 29 players in the 1st team squad. 3 x GK (all fit) 9 x defenders (1 unfit) 10 x midfielders (3 unfit) 7 x attackers (all fit) I really don't see why we have to have wholesale changes game after game !
-
My point is not that there will never be a need to alternate players for whatever reason. What I am advocating is that we have a settled formation, in order that when other players come in they have some idea as to what they will be required to do and have some idea of whom they are likely to be alongside !
-
Put another way - CM is injured : New CB comes in, old CB moves to CM, RB comes back as RM, CF is replaced by RM. Defence disrupted, Midfield disrupted, Attack disrupted ! I realise that I am perhaps oversimplifying the issue but the point is - why does one enforced change have to result in a complete re-hash of all parts of the team ?
-
Pass me the razor blades when you are finished !
-
I do not dispute the fact that you will get injuries/suspensions but wholesale positional and formation changes are disruptive and means that each player has to adjust not only to a different task but to having different colleagues alongside him ! I do not believe that the quality of players that we currently have are able to adapt in this way and particularly not game by game! I feel that I am being constructive here as I have offered a solution to the problem and have certainly not been personal nor destructive (I did not suggest bringing JP to task as you mention)!
-
Agreed, when they can pay us £12mil for a sixteen year old I think that the difference becomes fairly obvious !
-
No successful team in history changes it's system/formation game after game nor do the players play in different positions week by week !!! A few examples from the last 3 matches by SFC : James RB/CM Wotton CB/CM Surman LB/CM/LM Cork RB/CB McG CF/LM/RM BWP RW/LM Dyer RM/LM I accept that when things are going wrong you have to reassess but what is happening at the moment is more a case of 'total confusion' than 'total football' !! My view is that we we need a settled formation, that each player has a nominated position and when injured or suspended another comes in to fill that position ! It may be a slightly old fashioned opinion but I strongly feel that ongoing disruption is killing us ! Rant over !

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10636 I'm not sure that this is a good idea. What I would prefer is that we stick with the present system but stop fiddling about with who plays where ! ie. James RB is injured so we move Cork from CB to RB, Wotton from CM to CB and bring in Mills (a debutant) at LB (the whole back line has to start again getting used to each other!). Surman moved from LB to CM, McGoldrick moved from striker to RM, BWP brought in as LM so the whole midfield is newly formed ! All of this resulted because we had 2 injuries to James & Holmes! Surely we have a replacement in each position even if it is just a young lad ? IMO all we had to do on Sat was replace James and Holmes (like for like) and the system continues to develop! Shades of Burleyesque tampering here and I'm getting a bit concerned about it !!

I'll start you all off : 1) INEXPERIENCED 2) INEFFECTUAL 3) FRAGILE

When the pub is half empty half an hour before the game you can easily judge what the gate will be. I guessed at 14,830 and was only 6 out !!!
-
I am happy to see us play well, develop and improve but overall we must hold our own in this league and that means getting enough points to (comfortably) stave off relegation which would be a disaster! I can live with lost points at this stage but only if I perceive progress is being made !
