Our former manager seems to be repeating some of his strange behaviour in his new job: a) Played a right sider on the left wing ! b) Played one up front in a 'must win' home game! c) Played his most creative player as lone striker with his back permanently to the play! d) Took off his best player (having played out of position) after 65mins ! e) Has now upset a striker with negative comments behind his back, causing him to walk out! Not just you Ringo, I thought that he started very slowly and (just in front of where I sit in the Kingsland) he was skinned alive by Croft. TBF he did improve later just as he did against Barnsley ! Don't agree about James though, he was good last night IMHO !

The foul for the pen was right in front of me and was deffo in the box ! Lallana was clever in that he swerved into the Skate as he went past him so I would say that, although it was a bit soft, it was the correct decision ! I have no idea why the red card came out but presume that it was something he said ! (he no doubt picked up a few choice words from his time in Skatesville, so we can hardly be shocked about it !!).

I have no real idea how he did because I only heard it on the radio but (as long as he wasn't too cr@p) I would keep him in and persist with the partnership with Wotton otherwise we will get back to the chopping and changing every game which cannot be good in the longer term !

My father-in-law was in the same regiment at the same time! Sadly (or perhaps fortunately) he is not around to read the crass and insulting remarks that you make regarding the city where he was born and lived all his life! To compare human behaviour in war times to attendance at a football match is, to say the least, frivolous and at worst contemptible ! I think that the old boy would be happy that I am supporting his beloved Saints and that would be enough for him! He saw plenty of ups and downs in watching his team over the years but never, ever talked about or made comparisons to his wartime experiences! My point is not that there will never be a need to alternate players for whatever reason. What I am advocating is that we have a settled formation, in order that when other players come in they have some idea as to what they will be required to do and have some idea of whom they are likely to be alongside !

Put another way - CM is injured : New CB comes in, old CB moves to CM, RB comes back as RM, CF is replaced by RM. Defence disrupted, Midfield disrupted, Attack disrupted ! I realise that I am perhaps oversimplifying the issue but the point is - why does one enforced change have to result in a complete re-hash of all parts of the team ?
