The ITV coverage this morning certainly gave a wider audience to the protest and there is no doubt that Rupsey and his cohorts will be well aware of the consequences of further action in the future. Should we continue to underperform at home then I am sure that things will escalate and an ongoing Branfoot type of situation will unfold !!!
-
They really covered the protest march pretty well, leaving nobody watching in any doubt that Rupert is 'public enemy no.1 down here! Both Crouch and David Armstrong had their say and made it clear to the world that we are run as a 'mickey mouse' football club! Wotte though, made one supportive statement of Rupert saying that he was not here last year when we struggled till the last game of the season and I don't think the way he said it will endear him to the rank and file ! Match highlights were shown from a funny angle (as someone previously predicted) and only showed the goals but fair do's we got a bit more coverage than usual !

Seconded !

Bullocks to you too, Art !

How interesting ! I don't know what I expected but there appears to be nothing new to say or report except that RL nor MW bothered to turn up and support the new coaching team ! Same old, same old !

What time is it ? Is it on the radio ?

Wotte's appointment : a) It's good, things will improve. b) It's bad, we will go down. c) There was no alternative.

David Armstrong called for a boycott by the fans last night
eurosaint replied to derry's topic in The Saints
You are absolutely correct, I also listened to the programme after the game and that is exactly how his comments came about ! It has obviously been easy to twist this into a 'he called for a boycott' thread but does not accurately reflect the facts ! Don't get me wrong, I would support an all out boycott (say, the Sheff U game on 3rd Feb) but do feel it's important to be fair to a respected former player of the club! -
Only in the middle of the park though ! In both penalty areas we are pretty dire, as our goal stats (for and against) prove !
-
Roeder thought that it would be a 'piece of cake' but was left with 'egg on his face' while Delia has been quoted as saying that 'the proof of the pudding was in the eating' !

Brill, we still have a chance of staying up then ! I just knew that something good would happen if I just kept the faith !!!!!!!!!!

Personally I do not see that he is out of line at all ! The club gave him the contract in the first place and after a difficult start he had a good spell under Pearson and (seemingly reluctantly) when given an outing under Poortvliet he has been ok and has brought some much needed experience when given the oppotunity ! What he is saying is, if the manager does not think that I am better than Gillett, Gobern, Thomson, Smith, Patterson, McLaggon etc.. then do me a deal or pay up my contract and I'm offski ! If we are contractually committed to pay him (which we are) then why the hell do we not try and and get the best out of him ? It strikes me that Rupesy is cutting his nose off to spite his face, no less!!!!

David McGoldrick - one of the top 50 rising stars?
eurosaint replied to SaintDonkey's topic in The Saints
McG has good technical ability (he can trap a ball, he can turn, he looks up before releasing the ball, he takes up good positions etc..) and I do believe that he can make a higher grade than the CCC ! He does appear to lack confidence at times and (perhaps because of his natural gait) sometimes looks like he is not really trying nor is interested ! Right now he is playing in an ever changing and unsuccessful, young team which surely cannot help him progress as quickly as if he were playing with a top side ! Accepting (as I do) that he is underachieving at the moment, I am still not surprised to see him touted as one of the up and coming talents of the future and reckon that we should not underestimate his potential ! IMHO he might well become better than Blackstock, Best, Davies and even Jones but I suppose that only time will tell in the end !!
