PRE-SEASON: Southampton vs Beşiktaş - (17:30 BST)

This thread has exposed a few myths already : 1) Alpine_saint is a real human being ! 2) He is able to smile and clap ! 3) He has actually seen saints play live ! :) -
I am becoming very worried over this issue, not particularly about the blatant vote catching political message but the fact that "I AGREE WITH ALPINE_SAINT" !
-
The highlighted sentence sums it all up in a nutshell !! (Ps. a mate of mine went to Lidl to buy some fresh fruit and came out with a rubber dinghy )

It was a bit like that I guess, but it also sounded like the moronic pikeys from down the road, noisy, empty headed Turkish impersonators of the Skate barstewards ! Grrr.... -

Loving the half time music -
Also discounts for over 60's whereas we are over 65's ! Big difference - 5 years !

Class Bearsy (just one little MLG type correction though - it's 'could have' not 'could of ', otherwise splendiferous !)
-
Originally from Scotland but my wife is from Southampton so I got married there and started going to the Dell with her dad in 1971 ! Have lived in Belgium and Germany but now on the IoW so I have a ST and go to most of the home games !

Cringiest football 'anthem' ever? - (Basingstoke Town)

A bit repetitive but the close harmony is a joy to the ear ! -
Don't be daft, real life is different from a web forum and meeting fellow Saints and kindred spirits will be uplifting ! We have also had some verbal spats on here but I would happily meet up and have a beer if I was going !

Where have all the derbies gone, now that we are in the Prem.?

This website is fairly typical of it's ilk, I have friends who frequent QPR, Reading, Man U sites and they have similar views as I have on this one ! It's normal to have Wums, Trolls, Stattos etc, so nobody should get the hump, if you don't like it don't visit the site ! Personally I prefer here to the UI but respect that if you want a Saints forum you takes your pick and gets on with it !!

Seems that the clock is not on time !

I am pleased to read some balanced comments in the last few posts compared to the original scaremongering ! I visit Cape Town every year and travel around quite a bit as well, whilst taking only reasonable and sensible precautions, I have never really felt threatened and consider it to be a pleasure to be there ! The 'Mandela Effect' has been largely discounted as the world knows he is on his last legs and the political fallout in the aftermath is likely to be minimal ! Personally I see no parallels with Zimbabwe and feel pretty optimistic about the future of SA !

MLT - No contest !

Nathan Dyer and Bradley Wright Phillips !
-
Yes, they are the supplier (not the manufacturer) so any technical complaints are down to them but, as MikeyC said above, someone at SFC has given the approval, therefore the design, colour etc. has been a club decision !!
-
The deal does seem to bring more benefit to them than us ! Ps. They are not a manufacturer, they are a sports brand, they buy from many different factories in Asia !
-
The Adidas compliance unit is very strong (I have dealt with them !) so it is highly unlikely that kids would be involved, also the standard of factories in Asia these days is pretty high, in many cases much better than those in Europe (the few that are left, that is) ! Putting that aside, the ex-factory cost of these shirts will be less than a fiver !
-
The £50 price tag is a result of dealing with an international sports brand, their mission is to offer design, development, style, innovation and more sales outlets ! In this case they are taking advantage by using a basic template and adding our own badge and main sponsor, thereby cutting their costs ! TBF, we will probably sell more because of the 'brand awareness' and wider exposure but those who buy it are paying a premium price for a product that is no better than most standard high street items ! Also, don't be fooled by the 'moisture control' attributes etc.. they have mesh panels but basically it is a 100% polyester knitted fabric which makes you sweat in hot weather, however it is easy to wash and wear ! All in my (formerly professional) opinion of course !
-
Talk about the weather !
-
You may well be joking but I was in the rag trade for 40 years and have been to factories all over Asia (including those which produce these flimsy polyester rip-off shirts!) and believe me, these cartons are standard issue ! Beyond that, I know nothing !
