I watched that show last night and (just for the sake of balance) I did not think that he was denigrating Saints at all ! His point about Shaw was that he is so good that he will quickly move to a top 4 club, he was very complimentary re. Lambo (even reckoned he should get an England chance!) and with Lalanna he said very skilful but not the complete player (check out the thread on here re. his shooting and we tend to agree !). The show is all about banter anyway so nobody should take it too seriously and I can't understand why some of you are getting so hot and bothered !

What I meant was that people who have a high equity in their property are likely to leave this to their offspring ! As the average house price is currently £238k and the percentage of homeowners is around 65% that means that many of the upcoming generation will inherit a lot more than their predecessors ! You may disagree but that was my point !

A very bold statement considering you have no idea of my personal situation ! I suppose that it is too much to expect a government which takes my money to invest it wisely and help me in the future ? Ps. I'm still paying tax on my private pension and investments etc.. so am not completely dependent on the charity of working youngsters today !!

TBF, the winter fuel allowance is a joke and should be abolished for all but the frail and most vulnerable ! I can categorically assure you that by the time I start collecting my state pension later this year, my tax contributions over 40 odd working years will amount to a hundred times more than I receive (even if I live for another 20 odd years!) and I will STILL pay tax on this at the same rate as working people !! Your generation can also expect to inherit so much more (not for everybody, I accept!) than the previous one ! I do not accept the argument that today's young people are paying for existing pensions when they were clearly self-funded over the last few decades !!

I think that you have been pretty realistic, sure some be be a bit more, some a bit less but your bottom line looks about right to me !

TBF these groups have been at each others throats for centuries, the tribal culture in the middle east is the main reason why it will (at least in my lifetime!) always be a hotbed of hatred and violence ! Add in the undemocratic nature of most (maybe even all?) of their governments and it's easy to see why it's a volatile, unpredictable and often dangerous part of the world ! I have travelled extensively but mostly flew over the middle east, I reckon that this is good advice for most of us !!

As a Saints fan I enjoy going to matches and supporting my team ! With the expectation that 17th would be achieved with great difficulty, I have been encouraged by many of the performances under both managers so far ! We have chucked points away by making elementary, individual mistakes too often but the quality of play has generally been very good ! Pochettino clearly believes in style and panache and I think that given time to adapt to a new situation he might well prove a shrewd appointment (I was unimpressed when NA was sacked!).

Next two games are Man U and Arsenal, both away, so whoever takes over has a job on his hands even before they play us in 3 weeks time !!

I met Tony on a few occasions (my daughter was his daughter Libby's best friend at school!) and he was a good lad ! Easy to speak to, loved his football and many other sports ! RIP
