  1. Just for the record, Adidas do not 'manufacture' anything ! They are a sports 'brand' which buys from a few hundred manufacturers, mainly in Asia ! They design, develop and market many different products but do not actually own any factories ! I realise that I am being pedantic but (having been in the business for many years!) there is a big difference !
  2. If this is the case then they are doing it all wrong ! Very few sales will be achieved on a kit which is widely known as becoming obsolete within weeks, if they had reduced them by a sizeable percentage prior to the season end when potential customers were around, they would have cleared old stocks, improved turnover speed and added some turnover ! "A 'mark up' is only a 'mark up' once the article is sold" is a fundamental retail principle and holding on to redundant stock is not a sensible option ! Having said all that, my guess is that it's the store buyers/managers who will be making those decisions rather than Cortese himself, but I could of course be wrong on that count !
  3. I think that you're right in terms of his quality but at the age of 35 with a dodgy injury record there might not be many takers ! Anyway, good luck to him, I hope that the 4th division cloggers don't damage him for life !!
  4. It's still £72 grand a year, which for playing football just above non league level is not at all bad ! When you consider that it is approximately 3 times the average wage in the country then he should be happy especially as he has the opportunity to get into coaching at the same time which will open new career opportunities for the future ! You would also expect that he has built up a significant pot in his better days as a premier league and international player !!
  5. Of all the theories spouted on here, this strikes me as (far and away!) the most plausible ! Well put !
  6. We love you Kathy, cos you're a Liebherr girl, We love you Kathy, cos you pay our bills, We love you Kathy, Markus through and through !! To the tune of 'We love you Freddie' (Arsenal version!)
  7. I guess that the Cortese chant will be in full flow tomorrow now after the breaking news this morning !!!
  8. Thank f#ck for that, he is not everybody's favourite person but we desperately did not need destabilisation at this stage !! Whoopee :)
  9. Have turned on radio just to be sure, hope they've got it right ?
  10. If pirces keep going up like this I'm going to need an ambukance myself
  11. It's nothing personal, just that your opinions and postings come across as aggressive, negative and sometimes just plain stupid ! IMHO of course !
  12. I agree, I once called him an arsehole, which I regret (was in a bad mood and his negativity niggled me!) basically he's not in the same league as the likes of Alpine and Barry Sanchez who go out of their way to be obnoxious !
  13. 8/10 - never heard of a f#cking gerund or a modifier ! I can live with most things but 'loose' instead of 'lose', 'should of' instead of 'should have' and 'are' instead of 'our' really drive me mad !!!
  14. As with all your comments, Codger
  15. My squiggle has been added, good luck and I hope it works out for you !
  16. Do you honestly believe that there won't be any changes in the summer ??
  17. I'm sure it's just a coincidence but Rooney has just put in a transfer request
  18. Am always tapping with my fingers so I bought a set of bongos ! Have never used the bloody things since !
  19. Art + Alpine = Arsehole !
  20. Don't build up your hopes mate, he is still chuntering on about Hoddle 18 years since he left !
  21. A lousy 6778 points, I wouldn't mind but I'd been to most of the bloody places, just think I was trying to be too clever ! Next time I'll go for the more obvious !
  22. I'm led to believe that Alpine_Saint has been employed as a consultant
  23. 'Air India' was never really a problem as it was their international airline and had to conform to strict regulations, but 'Indian Airlines' was their domestic carrier and could scare the sh#t out of even the most seasoned traveller ! I think that they once lost two planes in the one day IIRC !!
  24. Approx 30 years ago I was aboard the Chinese national carrier (CAAC) sitting up front when one of the two pilots came out and went to the loo, while he was still in there the other one also came out and did a bit of shadow boxing ! I could see straight into the cockpit and there was no fecker actually flying the plane ! For sure they had it on autopilot but in those days an ancient trident was risky enough with someone at the controls let alone without ! I considered making a complaint when we landed in Shanghai but reckoned that they might stick me in jail so I thought better of it and let it be ! TBF they were better than Indian Airlines at the time but I'm happy to still be here to tell the tale !!
