Football attendances are suffering across the board, partly due to the £ crisis but also the game here is in a popularity recession. It has been very fashionable for 20 years, driven by the whole Prem-Sky thing, after it had reached a nadir of attendance figures and fashionability in the late 1980s. Now it is on the downturn of the cycle again, I can't see boom times for a decade or more. People are fed up with overpaid but poor quality players and so-so teams and faceless, soulless, corporate clubs, screwing them for every penny. The Prem has collapsed in quality this last 2 years and is failing in Europe, while the national team - England - is an utter joke. A few more Rangers disasters are long overdue....
