Saints fan that collapsed at Rotherham game passes away
Saint_clark replied to markr27's topic in The Saints
That story has genuinely blown me away. Sorry to pick this out of what is an incredible story but; Was it!? I seem to remember the Rotherham keeper going nuts at the ref trying to get the game stopped, I don't remember the game stopping at all. -
F*ck sake.
-
If only we had a calmer, more experienced head who knew how to stay focussed to the final whistle.
-
Haven't seen it, but I knew you weren't talking about the Watford keeper here.
-
Can't see him surviving this.
-
Stays like this, the top four have pulled away from the rest.
-
So is it 1-1 or not? (Tongue in cheek!)
-
He did. Now he's a really good keeper. In 10 years time I have no doubt Bazunu will be a really good keeper too.
-
Disagree fully. We conceded the second most goals in the league last season, whereas a bunch of teams stayed up scoring the a similar amount or even less than us. There were 20 games last season in which we either drew or lost by one goal - fine margins. If a better keeper made the difference in just half those games, turning 5 draws into wins and 5 defeats into draws, we'd have had an extra 15 points and would have been safe.
-
That was Che, I was the first person to say it when we signed him looking at the compilation of his goals, I was largely mocked for saying it and then it became the prevalent opinion after a couple of seasons.
-
Leno, Henderson, Pope all available the summer we went for Bazunu instead.
-
I agree, it shows we should have signed an experienced keeper and maybe we'd have stayed up.
-
Luton can only blame themselves...well Kabore anyway. He took absolutely ages strolling over to a throw in with 60 seconds left and the referee clearly indicated he'd be adding time on.
-
Thank god you shortened your reply.

I do think we are one of the better championship sides that with a favourable run could go far, my point was that I wasn't saying what I said because I'm getting giddy with excitement about Saints winning the cup. Just that the Prem is weaker, the draw looks good for 6 of the Prem sides being out before the 4th round, and the top championship sides are stronger than they've been in years.
-
Didn't realise that, surprised we didn't have an unbeaten run like this in league one.
-
No, but Leicester and Ipswich are far ahead of where Championship sides usually are in terms of points and Leeds look good as well. Of course not, but a couple of upsets a round and two more all Prem ties next round and we could be looking at a 5th round with less than 10 Prem teams out of 32. I'm not saying I think it will happen but it WILL happen eventually on the balance of probability, and this season when the top Prem sides are looking weaker and the top championship sides stronger than ever, why not.
-
Calm down lads, I wasn't even talking about us.
-
3 Prem sides guaranteed to be out by the fourth round, couple of tricky ties for others (Newcastle away to Sunderland for example!), championship is the strongest it's been in years. Could be a good bet for a championship side to win it this year.
-
Was hoping we'd get Alfreton away, love those non-league cup ties.
-
50 or 63 please.
-
Wonder if I could get away with going sick for 4 months with arm problems, doing 2 hours of my first shift back then going off sick for another 2 months with a completely unrelated issue.
-
Both shit in the Prem, both scored prolifically at lesser levels.
-
I agree, Onuachu would be able to convert crosses in the air and not just chances on the floor.
-
Absolutely ridiculous. We'd have been better off keeping Onuachu, i'm confident he'd have got goals at this level. Proof - Adam Armstrong is second top scorer.
