Talking of players out of contract in the summer, there are some potentially great players available. Andre Onana, the Ajax goalkeeper, would be a massive upgrade. Luiz Felipe, centreback at Lazio is good on the ball and only 24, would be an upgrade on both Stephens and Bednarek. Bit more ambitious at CB would be Romagnoli from AC Milan who at 27 would also bring experience that we are, in my opinion, severely lacking in that position. Brereton Diaz is someone that gets talked about a lot and he too is out of contract. 20 goals so far in all competitions this season for Blackburn.

Good point. Need to be extending these players contracts before they start getting ideas of moving on. Right now he isn't getting into his international side (how!?) And isn't even being talked about as an option for the top sides - extend his contract for the full five years.

We didn't need Perraud to be top quality for him to be an upgrade on an aging Bertrand. I think he is a very good player for our system for the next 3 or 4 years, with a view to upgrading if we are lucky enough to find ourselves consistently top half and wanting to push on.

The problem with paying kids enough money to set them up for life, they can easily lose their passion for the game.

The £20million profit would probably be eaten up in wages but the way to look at it is we'd be getting a top class striker for a few seasons for free.

They've also spent huge amounts on Werner and Lukaku recently and are one of the teams interested in signing Haaland. I think there's a chance we could convince them as long as a buy back was included.
