Better keepers would have kept those shots out, that's my point.

I'm not writing him off, i'm just saying that absolutely nothing about him from his stats to the clips i've seen suggests he is a Premier League quality player. His shots on goal are all scuffed, rough ones that look like the keeper is falling over them, or defenders passing the ball straight to him, or tap ins. He won't get defending or goalkeeping that poor from Premier League sides (bar once or twice a season). I've also seen people talk about his pace - again, seen no evidence of that. Doesn't seem any faster than anyone we've got, and certainly slower than Ings, Redmond and Long. Personally I don't see anything that makes me think he's an improvement in the squad on Gallagher or Obafemi. If the choices were Adams or no-one, i'd rather we went into next season with Ings, Long, Redmond, Obafemi and Gallagher as our options up top. I still don't believe for a second that there isn't a better option in the lower leagues or abroad that we could get for £10-15million. I'd actually rather we use that money to pay a loan fee for a much better quality player, there must be someone out there at one of the top clubs who won't be getting game time next season?

If you tally up the total amounts spent and received since we were promoted back up, we have spent far more than we received. It's a myth that we haven't invested more than we received from player sales.

The summer before 14/15 we spent £81million. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Brilliant. Top scorer 19/20 confirmed then. I think there's better out there, even looking in the championship and even at the price we're looking to pay. If we signed Adams to be the man to get us goals I'm betting on us to get relegated next season. Sent from my SM-J600FN using Tapatalk

Charlie Austin does and he ain't up to scratch in the prem anymore, stick him in that birmingham side and he'd bang them in as well. Defending is the biggest difference in quality between Prem and Championship and nothing about anything I've seen of Adams makes me think he could make the step up. Majority of his goals in that video are gifts from horrific defending/keeping or tap ins. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Mane ran into people, wasted chances and looked lost at times in his first season. Takes time and effort to turn that raw skill and apply it correctly in a much tougher and fast paced league - look forward to seeing what he can do over the next couple of seasons. If we sell him to another Prem side I guarantee within half a season people on here will be moaning that he is performing better than bertrand.
-
Targett is good enough as second choice and we won't get better than him for that money. Concentrate on improving the areas that we can actually improve - centreback, striker, right back.

How exactly do we do that when we have players who are capable of winning trophies but they are poached at the earliest opportunity because of the unlevel playing field? Honestly, watching Liverpool win the CL last night with a team assembled of players scouted and coached by other clubs who they then just threw money at has been one of if not the final nails in the coffin for me and top flight football.

A very tolerant, well reasoned argument that is sure to sway many people to your way of thinking. People love being generalised and insulted. Sent from my SM-J600FN using Tapatalk

That's the key...challenging at the top is a non-starter now, so play entertaining football with players the fans can identify with and take the cups as seriously as possible, that's all the other 14 clubs can do.
-
Exactly. Expect every aerial dual in the box to leave a defender clutching his head in agony from now on.

Skov with 0 assists from the wing this season?
-
No-one see a problem with this...?

I think JWP will be cut from the final squad but I feel Redmond should be ahead of Rashford and Wilson.
-
Yeah, if we suddenly start handing out big contracts and huge transfer fees we need to know where this money is coming from and that we're not doing a Pompey and spending on a promise of future revenue.

Leicester?

Is the white kit definitely on sale? I really like it.

Like the two away kits, home kit does look awful thanks to the black though. Sent from my SM-J600FN using Tapatalk

Why are people saying it's dodgy??? Seemed obvious to me we would be getting a big deal from an Asian company that probably none of us knew anything about due to our new owners. If the club are saying it's the biggest sponsorship deal in our history well then that's a bloody good thing, finally pushing our commercial revenue in the right direction.
