Puncheon to Palace - Official (Season Loan)
Saint_clark replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The reason things kicked off with him before is because he wasn't getting in the team, he probably asked for a move knowing how many players were ahead of him. Shame, but the alternative is disrupting the great team spirit we've built. -
The football league is probably less anal about squad numbers and because Puncheon already had 42 the PL just accepted it.
-
Playing on the pitch for Southampton, You know he's gonna get us a goal Seventeen on his back, and he's gonna attack ya The one and only Osvaldo *repeat* Can even clap along for those unable to stop themselves as it's quite fast paced.
-
Love it!

"You'd probably be the burglar". Gained so much respect for Gary Neville since he retired.
-
Our atmosphere is one of the best in the league already, no need to change anything.
-
Shouldn't be too hard to figure out come the end of the season.
-
Considering how solid we were defensively V West Brom, I really hope we don't go for this.
-
Snap, although Mayuka on the bench for Puncheon IMO. Need to have a striker on the bench.
-
Boruc Clyne Yoshida Lovren Shaw Wanyama Schneiderlin Rodriguez Osvaldo Lallana Lambert

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We have no idea how good we really are until we get a decent way into the season. Right now all I would say is we're better than Hull, Cardiff, Palace, Stoke, Hammers, Sunderland, Villa and Newcastle. Everyone else (yes, including Swansea and Fulham) are either on par or ahead for the time being.
-
I really doubt we're paying over a million a week for our players. That would be around £40k a week on average for our entire squad (not counting the youth promoted this season). I reckon we're around £40million a year.

He said weakest, not weak. In the same vein that Dani Alves is probably the weakest link in the Barca team despite the fact he's a brazilian international.
-
All except the two keepers, although it's worth noting that they're all out on loan with the exception of Bosingwa. So chances are QPR are still paying some of their wages. However they are all older players with little resale value, completely different to the younger signings we've made.
-
Agree that he is the weak link, but that's only due to the quality of the rest of the team. I said all last season that we could probably improve on him (when people were saying he had come into his own), but i'm not too worried if we don't sign a replacement for this season. He may well improve and become good enough for "the next level" as he's pretty young for a CB, but if not then next summer that needs to be a priority.
-
I'd wager we got a sizable amount for Chamberlains first England appearance and first goal.
-
How long have Everton been finishing in the top 6? When did they originally break in?
-
This level of spending won't continue season on season. It's one of the reasons we're investing in younger players, so we're set for at least another 2-3 years. And should one of those players wish to move onto bigger things, we know just how good Cortese is at getting us a fair old wedge.
-
Even Turkish is starting to believe, that says it all. This is a massive season for us now though. Would love to see us win a cup as well.
-
I'll be honest, I know absolutely nothing about him other than he's an attacker and he scored 16 goals last season...and I only know that from reading the post above. I can never be bothered reading the single-player mega threads so miss out on detailed info. Any youtube videos?

For 10 years ago, perhaps. Would sound bizarre sung now.
-
Quite like that, but surely the lyrics would be better as... "Oooosvaaaaaaaaldo, Osvaaaaaaaaldo..." etc.
-
I don't see what position we could realistically improve upon, except for CB replacing Yoshida. Personally I'm quite happy with our business this summer and wouldn't be worried in the slightest if we were done.
-
As mentioned above, didn't have a problem keeping everyone happy last season.
-
Turnbull is a couple of injuries away from making the bench as well. Wouldn't be shocked to see him overtake Hooiveld with the latter being sold in january.
