  1. I agree with you last sentence, but you misrepresent me. I said a reason for keeping was IF his replacement wasn't an improvement. I don't know if, with Pinnacle, we will be awash with cash or head above water. Are you telling me you wouldn't prefer Wotte to Francis Vines? Consistency of knowing the players. I'd rather have someone who knew the players, their weaknesses and strengths etc., than a clean broom 2 days before the season starts. ps. plus if he's not around, what are you going to have hissy fits about
  2. He was imprisoned for sh@gging monkeys.
  3. What a load of boll0cks. 'Semblance of character'? Why don't you demand that he commit suicide in the centre circle - you could sell tickets to see it in a kind of Saints SuicAide? I agree that a clean sweep is preferable, but because I think there will be people wanting to perpetuate the disunity if he stays, not because I necessarily agree he couldn't do a job for us. Two reasons exist for me to support keeping him as 1st team coach: 1) If the replacement isn't of any calibre. 2) If the replacement comes too late in the pre-season to make a difference/signings etc. In those situations I find it hard to support a change for changes sake. Also, Wotte gives us consistency and continuity and for that reason I'd favour keeping in him some role. At -10 points, we cannot afford a bedding in period.
  4. Ostlund was gash. I am unconvinced by JPS. Sometimes solid, always strong in the air, but a bit naive at times (three pens, each a carbon copy of each other). I agree though that we need strong CBs to compete in L1.
  5. Trousers is on the money. Either John Magnier is taking us over to develop the football team into a wordclass outfit, or he plans to mince the players and make sausages.
  6. No entiendo esto pallabra. 'Ke' es Que, no? Para su informacion - Acomita es un vehiculo de inversion - el patron se une a Irlanda y Suiza.
  7. Acomita Swiss Irish - Google is a wonderful thing.
  8. I was going to post this the other night, but I didn't believe it. Acomita baby. Acomita.
  9. I agree with a lot of what you post, but it makes little difference if we are a PLC or not. The key factor is administration. Private companies can go into administration too.
  10. **** me he was sat in the office for a long time.....
  11. Deja vu. It's an 'anyone but Lowe' strategy.
  12. E) ****s (choose from above)
  13. Properly managed and motivated, Euell is an asset. If you've got a manager that can show Euell he's wanted, he'll run all day and night for you and that is what you need in League 1. BWP I'm less convinced about. At least though he can make up the difference in his wages by nicking stuff. There's also an expression some of you seem to be struggling for. It starts, "Beggars can't..."
  14. And I respect your opinion too.... Do you know why I have no opinion of Souness' arrival? Because I was living c500miles from Southampton and had only passing interest in the club. Them being the days before the internet brought distant fans information and jumped up tits like you with your 'clever' answers. (My opinion of Souness as a bit of a tosser is in part down to my natural suspicion of anyone with facial hair and really has nothing to do with how/why he left.) But hey, if it suits you for me not to have an opinion, please let me know.
  15. Are you Alpine in disguise....
  16. To be honest I can't think of any. Regards, Alain
  17. LOL - 80's videos with sophisticated CGI!!
  18. Really? I didn't understand the concept.... It's not as if this is false though, is it? There were rumours at the time to the same effect.
  19. ... be busy this weekend in 2010?
  20. From Wikipedia.... We know about the personal problems, but what is the low down on the 'rumours of player disatisfaction'? Does anyone know who the ringleaders were, who said what to whom?
  21. Fair point. We may be relying on pity to get a decent manager who'll be offski as soon as he makes/rebuilds his name. However, I'm not proud How about Hoddle?
  22. Fair points. I think playing in a stable (in as far as we were) side is different to loan spells and (largely) sub appearances. I'm not making the case for the guy to be Maradona, just that beggars can't be choosers.
  23. The key is not getting rid of the manager, it is appointing a new manager. So I think we should understand what we would get instead, before we hound the guy out of office. We are a League 1 team with no money. Repeat that 20 times and see how many 'star' managers come running. That said, there's nothing we fans like more than a good witch hunt. It must be his fault we're crap, no, it's him, no, it's him (repeat repeatedly). For example, how many of Rupert Lowe's 1,321 appointments did people want to go? And in how many cases were the replacements better than the 'replacee'. My opinion on the Premiership ones: Graeme Souness - Arrival: No real opinion Departure: Thought he was a bit of a tosser tbh. Dave Jones Arrival: Up and coming, but not a big name. Departure: I was losing faith, results were bad, when events overtook. Jury says: Better. Glenn Hoddle Arrival: Exciting appointment. Departure: Gutted, I didn't want him to go. He signed some trash though. Jury says: Better (results. football not always great) Stuart Gray - Arrival: Uninspiring. Literally a 'grey' man. Departure: Didn't want him in the first place. Wanted him gone. Jury says: Worse Gordon Strachan - Arrival: Strange choice, unsure in the first place (better than Gray). Departure: Gutted. Didn't want him to go. Jury says: Better Paul Sturrock - Arrival: Thought he might be good. Would have preferred Hoddle Departure: Played some pretty football, I didn't see the problem (on the pitch) Jury says: Worse (hard act to follow) Steve Wigley - Arrival: Gray deja-vu. We're doomed! A good coach does not a good manager make. Departure: Wanted him gone. Jury says: Worse Harry Redknapp - Arrival: Any port in a storm, but wouldn't trust him with my wallet. Departure: Wanted him gone. Jury says: Worse So I wanted 4 to go (supported decision), 3 to stay (disagreed with decision) and 1 indifferent. Pretty balanced to be honest.
  24. "Some bloke on another thread said he called the police on him for watching from the bushes whilst his 11 year old played football." .... And that my friends is how rumours start. Completely unfounded, stupid, allegation. The post and the posts quoting it, including this one, should be removed.
  25. His age is (largely) irrelevant though Arizona. This is his first season playing in the first team. He's proved at reserve level that he can score consistently. He's not my first choice, but I think words like 'obscurity' are misused. We need to remember that Saints are a League 1 team and DMG might be just the type of player we'd need to keep hold of. Kenwyne Jones was ****e in his first season...
