  1. And Newcastle were singing it way before that.
  2. Was with a united season ticket holder on Wednesday night. He said we're the loudest they've had at the ground this season and we were the loudest last season. So the others must have been terrible.
  3. Not sure what it'll include. Maybe formation of the club, 1976, 1982, JPT, promotions, The Dell, Matt Le Tissier, Charles Miller, Keegan, Ted Bates, Markus, Academy, European games. What else?
  4. Check that bio out. They still believe which is cute. As you can see, he's a biter. Go gentle on him.
  5. If I was on the pitch yesterday I'm 99% sure I'd have got him sent off. Bertrand had a brilliant opportunity to wind him up and stupidly reacted and got himself booked.
  6. Unfortunately they did narrowly win today. I am absolutely green with envy.
  7. He's bad but he's still not as bad as Kevin Friend imo. Or (was it) Trevor Kettle.
  8. Lol We're getting so left behind. Here we are sat in 6th in the Premier League above the like of Liverpool and Chelsea. About to play the defending Champions at home who we've already beaten away. While they, the Top Division Dodgers/Promotion Dodgers/Tax Dodgers/Charity Dodgers, are facing yet another season in the 4th division and today take on the mighty Cambridge United in their decrepit stadium. Soooooo #jealous
  9. I've recently got myself a dog and after a few months training her she's now calm and settled around strangers and other dogs. Any excuse to go to a pub so taking the dog out would be a good one to convince the missus.
  10. Had to stop reading this thread pretty early on so I'm sure he's probably got a mention. But Ryan Bertrand is a great example. His career obviously started with a bang. Winning the Champions League. However he was often not played and eventually loaned to Villa. He didn't do at all well there and when we signed him I was a little underwhelmed. However, he's been sensational.
  11. Talking of coin throwing I completely forgot 1 of the 2 times I've been hit by a coin was on my way from Fratton Station to the ground. Right in the side of the head and drew blood. So it's been in their fanbase for a very long time. The other time was at Burnley. A pound coin hit me in the knee.
  12. Guys, remember. It's next year that they want to win the league. Rather than go up before they're ready. Losing to Barnet is all part of the bigger master plan
  13. Making up Portsmyths is one thing. Stealing stats from your rivals is quite another.
  14. I'd say I've met Saints fans on nearly every holiday I've ever been on. Including Spain, Italy, Greece, Vegas, Chicago, France, Prague, Cuba (who was actually Cuban) and on a cruise. Only time I met a skate was at the Camp Nou in 2003. We'd just had a cup final and they'd just been promoted. I had a Saints training top on. He came up to me and said "Won't be long until Fratton is as big as this". I laughed. He didn't. Turns out he was being serious.
  15. Doubt it. He got a full 45 minutes of fans chanting his name in Arnham and just a couple of weeks later he didn't play due to kicking off about wanting to leave.
  16. I'm in the 'cash in' camp. He's been exposed since Morgan left. He's a liability and I get the feeling he's also not a good influence in the dressing room with the strops he's thrown. He can have a fantastic game but only when it suits him. If he's not in the mood, which is all too regular then he's not worth his place. When he's like that he slows the game down, puts in silly challenges and in general is a negative in the team. He seems to be rated highly by other teams fans but I think many of the top 4 who were interested have moved on. At this point, he is no better than us in this league. I don't mind him staying so long as he pulls his finger out.
  17. I know her son posts the odd bit on Instagram every now and then. But is he really an avid fan? Or just someone showing an interest due to family connections? If it's true that he's become a super fan then maybe the intention is to eventually have him step up. Seems a long way off though as he's very young and living a bit of a party boy lifestyle. Which is fair enough.
  18. I didn't say acceptable. Just it's more understandable. It's unrealistic to ask everyone you meet for ID. Especially in a scenario where everyone has to be over 18 or even 21 to be there.
  19. I work in and around Portsmouth on the road. Fareham is definitely more blue. But that's central. As you'd expect, west Fareham is more red. I'm in Petersfield today and have seen 2 SFC car stickers. But generally it's more Pompey here too. They do have a decent catchment area to be fair. Fareham, Gosport, up to Petersfield and down to Chichester. As well as the IOW. Be that as it may, floating fans and kids from outside the boundaries seem to avoid them now. The longer they bumble around in the footballing doldrums, the more their fan base will dwindle. Shame.
  20. I thought this the other day. I remember girls at my school going out with blokes over 18 and getting picked up from school by them etc. Johnson needs to face the consequences. He knew what he was doing and it's wrong. I haven't seen a picture of this girl but if it's true she looked her age (barely 15) then he's a weirdo in my eyes. It's very common for 15 year olds to look over 16 and even 18. And if you're unaware (meet in a club) then fair enough. But he knew and persisted. Chuck the book at him.
  21. Chatting to a skate mate last night. They're giving up already. He said he'd rather win League 2 next year than go up this year when they're not ready. So there it is lads. They'll win the league next year instead.
  22. Ha. True. I knew I was supposed to dislike them but I must have been about 16 at this game and they'd hardly entered my radar until this game. They were rivals by name to me. But before 2003 they were a complete irrelevance really.
  23. Was sat right next to the segregation that night. Genuinely had zero hate towards them until that moment.
  24. They're always out in Southampton. Even back in their PL days their players lived and socialised in the SO post code.
