Play offs is failure really. They should be winning the league. They'll finished 3rd IMO which is job done I suppose. They'll have Sheff United, Wigan and maybe Bolton in L1. When we were there we had Norwich, Leeds, Charlton and Brighton. As well as very good Peterborough and Huddersfield sides. They won't have the luxury of 3 automatic spots either.

It's about time they trashed someone. With their squad, management and overall advantages over the rest of the league they should be doing that on the regular.

Theres definitely less than 1976 in existence these days. My first one got thrown into a small fire by a charming ex.

It will happen. Stoke knew that climbing all over him would go unpunished so did it all game. It was laughable at times. Lambert used to get similar treatment. Probably not as bad actually. He lost it at Brighton away. Pelle will too.

When was the last time we scored a decisive late goal at home?

I blame the early leavers. Fans give up, players give up. -
Ha. I checked the scores after our game and saw they were 1-2 up. Was annoying considering we'd just lost. Literally just found out about the equaliser. Brilliant. Nice long trip home that for 900 of the bestest.

0-1 down with all to play for today. 85 mins up and mass exodus. I've always been one for 'who cares what people do, they paid their money' but I noticed a huge change in atmosphere today when half the ground started leaving and it clearly filtered to the players. Those who say the crowd don't change the result. Bull****. At 55 minutes today we had done nothing and the crowd got right behind the team. The atmosphere picked up and so did the players as we had our best period of play all game. Do that for the final 5 mins + stoppage time and it could be the difference between a loss and a draw. Instead it just petered out.

Exactly this. He coached me for 3-4 years and was the best coach I've ever had. He just wasn't a manager. That said, I wouldn't want to be on his bad side. He was too chummy with the players at Saints and too inexperienced to manage at that level. He still managed to beat the skates though.

This. Nothing terribly wrong with Sturrock. He'd have kept us up judging by his results. It's Wigley's term that screwed us over. Still, everything for a reason. I wouldn't change a thing considering where we are now.

Hahahaha! Apart from the tower it's literally a collection of chain restaurants

Security at St Mary's in light of the Paris attacks
Golden Balls replied to Johnny Bognor's topic in The Saints
I'm also surprised PL football seems to not have been targeted. Very easy to get stuff in if you ask me. And very high profile. When I was in LA I went to watch the ice hockey and basketball. It was like airport security with metal detectors and searches going on. I realise America are completely over cautious but I can see that being the norm at football grounds soon enough. -
Was such a shame. Had some decent bits but overall was bland as hell. Wasn't it a former Daily Echo writer who wrote it? Which would explain a lot.

Looked very dominant. What sort of team did Ajax put out?
-
That would actually be very good. Sponsors can still get their exposure as an 'ad break'. Probably some sort of regulation that says they can't show the highlights on the screen.

On one hand it's something to be proud of that we don't over pay and are doing what we can to be sustainable. On the other hand we will always lose players and it will eventually catch up with us.
-
Not just that. They're also building a football museum. Not sure if that's common knowledge but it was news to me.
-
Ha.

You know what, I've always said I didn't want us to get them in the cup as they had nothing to lose and the thought of an unlikely upset is scary. But after watching them today I'd love us to get them. They are awful. We'd smash them to bits.
-
So did I. But that wouldn't have been on TV would it.

Boos ring out around Fratton, again.
-
Assuming they haven't had a home game since 11/11? Also. Peoples go to war from there innit. (Despite more troops passing through Southampton than Portsmouth during WW2).
-
Apparently this is the "best atmosphere in world football". I give up.

Wanted to edit to say back to front but wouldn't work.
