  1. Until he REALLY learns to play football with his head up consistently I think you can make an argument for AL returning in place of Puncheon and Guly switching sides. Puncheon is IMHO our most frustrating footballer, he is so close to being excellent but it is always around the box that something seems to panic in his head. He delays the final ball, it is too weak, picks the wrong optionb or he just doesn't shoot with conviction. Since his return Guly seems to added the ability to "appear" to Saints fans to run around more hence less stick and does at least seem to have more conviction around the opponents box. What are the pass completion stats again? Would wager more of Guly's are in the oppo half than Puncheon's
  2. Have to admit after an appalling first 5 minutes (when our taters were wondering why NA hadn't subbed him) he seemed to grow in confidence and towards the end seemed to have a confidence and stature about him. His positioning for Walcott's long range shot and the dismissive way he gathered the ball with his entire body in the right place compared to us wondering whether KD would dive the wrong way, let it under his ass etc.. He'll do in goal until we sign a proper PL experienced keeper............ But, to be fair, our set up & performance meant he had naff all to do
  3. So Eric decides to have a small NYD dinner party - he rustles up a roast for an average pcfc away following - 34 of us. We're munching away and ooh let's check Twitter to see any Saints team news. And then the feeds kept coming in Goal Swindon 1-0 then a couple of moments later - well you get the picture. Made for a very pleasant start to the evening.
  4. What a great game AGAIN. From just the 4 stragglers watching the game we ended up with about 20 or 30 joining in oohing and ahhing with us and even had one major OWTS from everyone (mixed footie fans who loved watching Arsenal get a footballing lesson) Cork showed real class today, especailly when he put Gervinho on his ass. Compare him and Wilshire as England candidates? Hmm Shaw owned AOC. Davis & Guly put in exceptional shifts, Morgan, Lambert did everything we would expect. Fonte? Slowly becoming true PL quality as is Yoshida. Ramirez? Oh yes he's had a run now since he came back from injury and as the TV taters said "starting to prove to the sceptical Saints fans that he will be the real deal." OK it was disallowed but what a finish for the second "goal" Puncheon non existant in the 1st half came into his own as the game wore on, still took the wrong options though. Subs showed why we need to spend money. But as the Arsenal haters said "wow, you boys have a great team there, well played" REALLY enjoyed the game even though am sick as a pig today
  5. Picked helluva day to give up beer Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

  7. Never EVER drink on a boat. EVER again

  9. Sydney Harbour blew 4million quid in 10 minutes of fireworks. Skates blew 150+mil in smoke and mirrors over 3 years. Much more entertaining
  10. A ideo cilp filmed inside my head this morning. Ouch Well, actually this was pretty cool. Burj Al Arab just up the road had an awesome display as well. It wasn't Sydney Harbour. BUT tbh
  11. http://www.thenational.ae/news/uae-news/dubai-braces-for-new-years-eve-celebrations#ixzz2GbNRSk5f Aw Krap. There goes any chance of getting anywhere tonight... Cops expecting 1million people coming into town tonight. We have one major road into the City. Anyone fancy spending the evening in a traffic jam?
  12. Pah, talk about plagair plaiga oh feck it copy & pasting. She's done nothing clever she's just been reading this thread. I said it a couple of months back - all Chinny needs is a proof of funds and a bid for the land. IF only one other tyre kicker existed out there and TB did not talk to them and they found Chinny's email address, the PDT is screwed.

  14. Or according to the article, they get the money early in the article to pay the wages of the rest of the team....
  15. This. Also I gave Guly a few comments on the match thread & reactions. They were aimed for comic effect not the normal p1ss taking. Thought he did his job really well and was my MoTM (and yes that was a really hard halkf chance at speed that he missed. My frustration with that was more on the lines he would have become a hero IF he had buried it. Never mind) Was an amazing evening to be in the pub with all the different games on all around us. Brilliant evening of football to watch.
  16. Totally with you (and him). Way back before I came here, NYE was THE best night of the year. It was spent with real friends in our local pub. When I was much younger we used to have a Village "Do" in the Village Hall. Since coming to bling city it has without a doubt been horrid. Imagine Turkish's nightmare scenario but then add 8 quid a pint and ALL your mates have left town or have to take their missus out to a 500 quid gala dinner..... Hate it. This year we haven't been able to get out of Sin City due to FMDP's company having to move their showroom over these next 3 days BOO! But the best fun I (or my Kids) have had were in the Gogo bars in BKK. We could use up airmiles and book in August so the flights cost 50 quid and then 30 quid a night for a hotel. Party & shop for 4 days and STILL save money on a sh1t night out here. Our "organised" events are Zane Lowe, Roger Sanchez & Zane Lowe with Rita Orr & Ellie Goulding - a 12 hour event 40 quid a ticket so a bargain on Brit pub price (Alternate is Snoop Dog Gorrilaz Sound System & a Faithless DJ Set for 80 quid(yuk). BUT at each event it costs 8 quid for a 330ml can of Heineken or 200 quid for a twin pack of Absolute & mixers..... plus the joy of 8,000 drunk Holidaymaker Brits on a beach with hour long queues to get away afterwards... enuff said. Only day of the year I truly wish I was back home with the lads, listening to The Zucchinis play in some pub somewhere around the South. Maybe tomorrow will be different some good friends and something unusual... Hope so
  17. Well. First time in 4 years I'm stuck in Dubai instead of The Dolls House in Soi Cowboy with FMDP 2 local bars available at 40 quid entry. Everything else STARTS at 150 quid a head for "International Buffet and a glass of Bubbles" - ie cheap Aussie fizz and overcooked food. MOST places are charging 300 quid a HEAD. That will give you the INternational Buffet, a choice of bottled Heineken or Budweiser and Montes Argentinia Cab Sav or Chardonnay all night long. We HAD planned on staying in and walking down to watch the fireworks, but some friends who run a Tourist Business have a 35ft Catamaran that they are mooring in the Palm to watch the Atlantis Fireworks and invited us. Only second NYE in 19 years that I will spend with some friends. Normally everyone I know is out of town. How is it in Blighty? How much is your local charging for the night or have you found something special/local to go to? (Oh and Bearsy? Yes they DID plan to fill the boat with Bikini clad babes but it is REALLY cold (for here) at the moment (bloody Iranians) which is why we got invited I guess.... Last year a Russkie went to the Carvalli club (no never been there) at the Armani Hotel (yes, been there "liberated" a nice set of cutlery) He spent 250k POUNDs on Crystal Champers. I spent 15 quid on 4 bottles of Aus Fizz at Phillipine Saint's fav hole in the wall today
  18. Saw that on Skynews this evening. 1) A real WTF moment 2) Hope he kept his own image rights - would make a fortune from that clip!
  19. Bearsy. You are my hero for walking out of Jack Reacher. Anyone who has ever read a book simply knows that it is an error of monumental proportions to cast Cruise as Reacher (ooh see what I did there) Here's a good one for Satellite watchers - The Debt - was on Sat here tonight. Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson Sam Worthington. Mossad hit squad sent to "render" The Surgeon of Birkenau from East Berlin in 1965. Great story, twists and acting - an old fashioned 60's "spy" thriller
  20. And has been reported as playing very well in a poor Blackburn team
  21. Tbf he will not have to come for short corners aimed at Kenwyne in this game. But has to be Boruc - simply because IF he has a blinder & is now mentally fit then it saves us a few million for elsewhere in the team in the transfer window
  22. We're gonna get mullered. But it's our own fault. EoA is having a NYD party that starts at 1:30 your time.....) As for the team? Clyne (if fit) for Jos Guly out left Ramirez for Rickie. Simply think that JRod would pull their defence around better for the first 60mins with SRL coming on to finish them off (in my dreams) Shaw maybe a doubt, took a knock in the game in which case put Clyne at LB & Richardson at RB FFS not Jos in at CB against Theo So depending on knocks mental fatigue ...................Boruc (but it will be KD until we sign Robinson/Butland) Richardson/Clyne Fonte Maya Clyne/Shaw ..........Cork.............Morgan Puncheon......................Guly .................Ramirez .................JRod
  23. sammysaint outed as Simon Clifford shocker!
  24. Don't think 3I are likely to want to invest in them
  25. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2254676/Luke-Shaw-transfer--Arsenal-pole-position.html 5 mil? Really? Jeez I'd love to get my hands on some of what these Journos smoke.
