  1. That is only a part of it Hatch. The "Shock & Horror" and "bad publicity" that this is giving the UK is the real issue. It's a How far does this go? and Who knew? Problem and the fallout could be very damaging to innocents as well as Guilty Parties
  2. Glasshouses and throwing stones. What is worse? The Jimmy Saville and his gang of merry men or this? The Swat Valley. One of the world's most amazingly beautiful places. The "Superpowers" abused it for hundreds of years in their battles for Afghanistan and the locals ignored it in their corrupt and internal infighting in Pakistan. You leave anything to run wild for a long time it turns Feral. This is not JUST a failure of Islam it is a failure of the World to give a damn about people in general. The days of the Raj/Khyber Pass, through the Soviets & the CIA to trying to kick the Taliban out of Afghanistan. No wonder the whole damn area has become a failed state. Such a shame. The Trout fishing there was some of the best in the world.......
  3. I have only ever listened to one speech by a Politician that had sensible, serious and deep content. It was educational, entertaining and absorbing. The man was a "genius" by current Politician standards. It was actually about managing Monetary Policy and the Macro Economy. He understood the dynamics of how Politicaly inspired decisions had really harmful effects on us, the "General" public. Such a shame that the man who gave the speech was Enoch Powell, and instead of giving it to a wide audience he was reduced to giving it to people studying Economics at College. Even though it was more than a decade after "That Speech" we still had to wade through protesters outside the college. I like Boris, with a good team behind him he can do a job and The Olympics are a shining example of that. The PROBLEM will be that at the next level, that team behind him will be made up of people with "Special Interests" and "Lobbies". That is a whole different ball game to delivering a project on time, and with his "buffoonery" I worry that he is one mis-placed joke away from a disaster. Still don't see anyone better out there though.

    OAP Drugs

Back in the UK in a few weeks. Brother already agreed on FB we're gonna have to start sending Mum out to more Car Boot Sales every weekend We're all having a big ROFL about it down here what with a Life Sentence etc if it had happened to someone down here
  6. Don't often pop on here but I have an anecdote for this thread. The world of Islam are a it "touchy" about things between unmarried people shall we say Every copy of the Sun (or FHM/Maxim) sold here has lots of big bold black marker pen lines over inappropriate pictures (ie Bewbs or people snogging) Movies at the Cinema are cut to stop unweds being seen snogging (let alone anything else) And yet 50 Shades of Grey is on sale in the local Supermarket let alone the local Bookstores. #confused
  7. TOTALLY disagree with that. And yes evidence to support that your theory is not correct is stored by certain forum members for the day when it is time for FF to write the history of those dark days, and no it will never be PM'd or put on here
  8. Bless In other "pending insolvency & financial meltdown news" tariq panja ‏@tariqpanja Birmingham City owners tell HK stock exchange that they've been approached by buyers and board discussing sale of team. Retweeted by Matt Slater
  9. Sorry, the page had got a bit dull, and even Granty had dropped the ball on his Notlob v Nottarf comparison Point being Eddie D is earning a decent rate of interest on his loans..... (All well and good but sustaining the income to pay that interest could be an issue with their awful start) But a better comparison would be Notlob with Newcastle & Rick Astley .. Sustainable for a season maybe two but then implode Anyway we had gone off topic so seeing as Ohio should just be eating his cornflakes around now.....
  10. Forgetting the Politics for one moment, at least when he opens his mouth he says something it's normally come from inside his own brain as opposed to a Spin Doctor. Hence the clusterf**ks he makes, but also why he is a breath of fresh air. He says what people think not what somebody is telling him the Sponsors/Stakeholder etc want to hear I enjoy his rants in the Torygraph. Would he make a good PM? When did UK last have one of those to compare against?
  11. Totally do not agree with this Alps. It was clear to anyone with enough of a brain to be able to sit and watch Saints on TV at the ground or listen to them on the radio. What IS open for debate is 1) How many of our primary targets failed to sign? 2) Why did they fail to sign? 3) Does anyone really believe that NA went to NC and said sign these players please? IMHO Our "Back Office Team went to ""somebody" with THEIR selections. I'd love to know what NA's actual wish list was, but I have a sneaking suspicion it wasn't what he got
  12. There will be two extra fans in the ground. Moi & FMDP - she is finally getting her first trip to SMS and is totally buzzed about it.
  13. BBC Solent Sport ‏@solentsport #saintsfc Southampton's St Mary's Stadium confirmed as one of 17 potential match venues for the 2015 Rugby World Cup: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/19868520 …
  14. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/portsmouth/fb_news.php?storyid=18346#.UHH2FMzNWVY.twitter No it is still there Raises soooooooooo many more questions
  15. I wasn't intending to knock it at all. It is obviously good work - it raises so many more questions though... There are enough new angles to allow everyone to look back and also to allow this to debate into another 200 pages My one liner reaction would really be. SURELY, now, SOMEBODY has to go to Jail for all of what happened down there (Which is kinda what we and the more intelligent few have been saying for 3 years)
  16. Going back through this thread. Not in a "we were right" way but in the "how many times did BTF and others mail or ping media guys" to draw attention to the story. Nobody ever followed up, nobody seems to have had off the record lunches with Storrie/Roberts etc to see the picture. No doubt they will all start following this up now. Matt Slater ‏@mattslaterbbc If u want 2 know why football, despite glorious simplicity of game, isn't quite right, on number of levels, try http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/portsmouth/fb_news.php?storyid=18346 …
  17. There are a lot of holes in that and some errors. Perhaps the biggest holes being that Storrie Lampitt & Roberts were all officers of the Company and yet appear to have done nothing to report misconduct to any authorities At the moment it is a story, to have published it they need to have one hell of a lot of actual evidence. Which begs the question who gave it to them. But the thing is, it had all pretty much been speculated on and discussed on here. As the article stands it is a clear attempt to destroy Chanrai's chances of taking control. Unfortunately it could also deliver a clear opportunity for legal action - which, as we all know could kill any chance the trust have So as Pearce says - good investigative work. But possibly something that they should have sent to the Press and not published themselves... Which again shows either egos at work or naivety Unless of course the Press wouldn't publish it because of lack of evidence and holes in which case Mr Hall may be receiving a knock on the door very soon The real interesting part will be "How does this evidence impact upon submissions given at the High Court with respect to the original HMRC Winding Up Petition?" If this turns out to show "falsehoods" were stated in a court action involving the previous company which meant that it WOULD have been liquidated.... Hmmmmmmmmm
  18. I'm assuming Liverpool fans have 500 threads on their forum tonight demanding answers for dropping more points And that the Geordies are working out how to pay AP compo for his 100 year contract when they sack him next week. 75% of our current problem is that our players are cowards. They don't have the guts to do what the boss tells them. Two decent passes against them and we revert to 8 men within 10 feet of our own box. The problem is the players not doing what they are told and nobody on the pitch with the nous to do something about it. Whatever Marketing Luvvie came up with the idea that Lallana should be our on pitch Leader... Jeez since he's been captain his own game has dropped off let alone the team. Fonte is showing guts on the pitch (to the amazement of many) give him the armband and let Adam concentrate on his own game
  19. Think you are right on how you put that (and the articles do follow a similar line - cannot judge what happened in another time by the standards of today. Think the shock and horror of the story will be how widespread it was, and more problematic - how much covering up went on. It's going to be a slap in the face to the image of the UK expressing moral outrage at events elsewhere in the world.
  20. And then in the pub for the game, met up with the other Saints fans down here and the two others who tried BOTH got through within 20 minutes and have their tickets Ho hum April it is then
  21. Good first trip to Barasti, accumulated two more local Saints fans to join the massive. Should have been 3 or 4 in the first half, Rickie left his shooting boots behind today. We ALL agreed with the Puncheon substitution. Yeah he runs around but EVERY time he got near the box the final ball was just not there AND more importantly he didn't look capable of providing it. Guly got in the way more and with arms and legs going in all directions at least he made their defence work to get the ball back off him. SRL was knackered & Mark Bright had said as much about a minute before the change. In the 1st half he was running and harrying the defence and appeared to be playing in the hole more than upfront. Bright said part of our problem was that SRL wasn't doing the same chasing. The PROBLEM was that taking him off meant we were much more unlikely to score. Thank God for Jose. Jos. What can you say he had to try and also with the deflection Gazza was at least going the right way before the ball changed direction.. Overall? Same problem as I said last week. We are TOTALLY inexperienced at this level on the pitch and if NC wants to have TV money next year then he HAS to bring in some wise old heads on Bosmans and fast
