  1. Guys Until the server can truly cope with the workload on Match days then you have to restrict access to the main Saints section to those who have paid. I think this is actually a krap idea, BUT the performance the past 3 games has been awful, and I don't see any other way around the problem. It HAS to be temporary as the banter and shared emotions are the life and soul of this forum and we need everyone we can get cracking one off on game day. But you HAVE to sort it out guys, it's embarrassing
  2. Well, I believe that Alpine will probably become Happy Clappy now. But I bet he throws all the toys out the pram in the Championship
  3. Glad I stayed up late. Was worried about today's game. If nothing else I had fish & chips after our weekly old f@rts golf society evening and thought it may have an impact. Not needed any naughty Nuns, Muffins or weather forecasts. Team have turned up and performed in fornt of SAF & Comoli. Oxo probably added a fair few bob to his value and SaF may decide Rickie would be good cover for Berbativ in the CL
  4. OK guys. This is now beyond embarrassing. Two games in a row it crashes or takes ages to refresh, and then today it doesn't even make it much past an early goal. We stopped posting pictures so that is no longer an excuse. The Match Thread is the heart and soul of this forum for many of us. It is our way of sharing the game time experience. I think we are due an explanation and a recovery plan. If it is something as simple as needing a better server then some of us would be happy to help, but not until we get some guarantees. If it really cannot cope then you are gonn have to ban the Registered Users and leave it to the members. And that really isn't right or fair as we are all one family on match day FECKING SORT IT OUT PLEASE
  5. Not sure which is more weird. Getting a score update from Totton during commentary Or hearing that Canada are 30 something without loss against Hampshire...... In mid January
  6. DM isn't whispering tonight, he's purring. SAF in the crowd must be cacking himself at the thought of playing us. Comoli watching Oxo again, price going up each week. Oldham fans moaning and groaning more than a dodgy Prono Video C'mon this is Saints we can't keep this up surely?
  7. Feck me, I nearly spilled my very large Bacardi & Coke
  8. wooo Rickie you beauty sets up Oxo
  9. Excellent play shot in from AL, corner
  10. Almost had a temper tanturm, tuning in and getting a hiss - then the ref's whistle then over to the commentary team and Silence
  11. Can I make a suggestion IF we have a Mod around tonight? Close the match thread after HT & open a new one for the 2nd half? It MAY stop the delays and hanging that we've had the last two games. Anyway thank fook game is about to start. GF is listening to a Michael Bolton Greatest Hits next to me in the home office and it is MURDER. Surely nothing on the pitch could be as bad tonight. Headphones on and away we gooooo
  12. I'll be happy with a battling draw up there, tough game, midweek, long way from home. Be fecking ecstatic with a win but not expecting it
  13. Can I buy a seat with Airmlies? If so I'd like my usual manager's seat. Although OldNick may be forced to move from his spot as he was going to be the Away manager this season
  14. He'll be fine. A very desirable Managerial Vacancy will shortly come up, giving him the chance to work with a real club and with real funds for the transfer window. yep, Eddie Howe is expected to quit Bournemuff, SC will jump at the chance to move to a bigger club with a more loyal fanbase
  15. How can we be sure they were Fairy Cakes. They could well have been Muffins. They are cool and trendy and an integral part of Match Day culture On here at least
  16. What a cracking goal from Guly though. Well worth the watch from all angles. That was the second time the dummy on the edge of the box was used (that I noticed in the highlights), first time Richardson nearly scored. Nice, shows confidence and trust in fellow players Score one for the radio listeners re our tactics though. DM picked up very early that RL & LB were pulling wide and Lallana was getting into the space that created, described as a deliberate tactic to upset Blackpool's normal way of playing out from the back. Credit to NA, we played a Plan C and whipped their asses
  17. Can see both sides of the argument, but to be fair, 150 quid for Corproate Hostility is probably about the same price that Touts will be charging for a normal ticket. There'll be some of us Johnny Foreigner types who are in town and don't go often enough to be on a database who's only chance of a ticket will be Hostility or a tout. Although some of us still have mates who will help out, so why shouldn't the club price the premium tickets accordingly. The Curry Club (GM's post) for 49 quid allowing a bunch of Kids in free is a great idea for League games as it means that a whole new generation of Kids get to games and start to get the Saints Bug for the future. Something that many of us have worried about during our fall (the Kids weren't wearing OUR shirt around town). Don't think Kids going free on a good "deal" to see the Mancs is needed to help get the Red & White flowing through their veins. It's going to sell out and many far more regular fans who have been to 4, 5 or 6 games at full price this season won't have a chance to get tickets. This way although "it can be argued that it is a rip off" at least they have a chance to go. Economic reality vs Semi-Socialist style hand outs. Tough MORAL call, easy business call.
  18. Bart has a critical job at the club. He has to be READY. Whether injury, sudden loss of form or a suspension, he is being paid well to be ready. That is Football. Whether or not KD is a better all round keeper is not the argument, KD has done nothing to deserve being DROPPED in a Robert Green way. When KD has made a mistake he's got back up and kept us in another game. Bart is the furture, he can't now be loaned out because if KD became unavailable you cannot recall in the first month (or something like that). Loan out Bart KD gets a straight Red for giving away a penalty and we've got Forecast in goal for a game or three. Nope, he's being paid very well for being Ready, and the really important thing is - that KD KNOWS it. KD ain't gonna get dropped for Forecast if he has a few bad games, but Bart keeps KD on his toes. For the Cup Game, different call, because it's Man ure and likely on TV we need our first X1 on the pitch to see where we are in our rebuilding and how far we really have to go. KD it should be
  19. Get him to the Greek on DVD today. Well done movie documenting the mess of fecked up Rock & Roller (Russell Brand) that manages to include humour and depth at the messed up world of Sex Drugs & Rock & Roll. And even manages to take a dig at Russell non-acting as the same character from Sarah Marshall by including a clip from her TV series. Good comedy, enjoyable shambles of a trip to LA and it manages to make you feel something for the shallowness of the singers life. 6.5/10. Worth the download/quid for the dodgy DVD.
  20. Lars Uhlrich in Get him to the Greek almost manages to act.
  21. Nah, it's a solid idea. The ST holders get a half price ticket for the 5th round game. C'mon, it's only Man U, walk in the park
  22. One thing is for sure, he'll be off somewhere..... Eddie Mitchell needs the compensation
  23. I hope the team doesn't go into the game on this fourm's wave of easy easy we're playing well. At Daggers we had to battle hard to get the chance to play our football (to steal a Whipering Daveism), and we will certainly have to do it again up there against a team that wil be motivated to take the big scalp and push on their own climb up the league. Battle first, then play football to win second and we'll be fine There, think that gets enough cliches in the the thread to counter OSM's indecisiveness
  24. You are in good company Alps. Boycott also blogged in one of the Tests that dropping two catches was an unprofessional disaster, wouldn't have happened in his day and we had lost the Ashes in those few balls. We then proceded to bowl em out for 98, nobody remembers some of the better analysis he did during the series, just the we've blown it comment. Chillax, you have a place in history now as a co-holder of "most memorable post of all time" go with the flow, Dine out on it, enjoy the fact that it brought (and continues to bring) a smile to many people's faces
  25. The Telegraph covered a lot of Holloway's ranting but it did include his comments praising us and the way we played and we deserved to win. Also today there was a large write up about the 4th round draw with a great picture of Guly scoring his goal But yes, compared to the other games it was not as in depth and kept NA's comments to mostly wanting to play Liverpool next
