  1. OK that was far too easy. Next up Saints players with a Number in their name (and no, not Fitz Hall) No it doesn't have to be spelt right, just when the name is pronounced it sounds like a number
  2. And meanwhile. So, anyone remember any players with the letter Q in their name that have played for the first team?
  3. The thread title says PLAYED FOR US - ie the first team, not the reserves forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and
  4. To be fair, I can understand why we "worry" We had 15 or so years of having our best players sold to the highest bidder and the lack of real intention to Improve every season. Years of mediocrity and being grateful for survival takes a toll on the psyche over that length of time. Having new management and owners coming in and saying "We will do this" "We will not leak what we are doing" "We will get promotion" is actually very hard to take. People make huge amounts of money out of training courses on "Change Management" because in general people get set in their ways, and don't believe it is happening. AP & NC told us what they would do. I think it is fair to say that we still haven't learnt to trust them yet and we don't have an ingrained belief. Our reactions are more happy clappy shock, hence the gloating. Will we ever come to terms with the reality of our new status? How long will it really last? Hopefully for the next 5 or more years. The club IS changing, it is upsetting some fans (booking fees) some employees (car parking fees) and it is also upsetting the old mind-set. We're Saints fans we go to football to moan. That's the next problem we'll face as hopefully we'll not have anything left to moan about
  5. My bad, just when she's on Al Jazeera the male population here seem to only have thoughts about that region of the body. Wrong I know. Now, you found that snippet out so now go and find a picture for us
  6. Why were you commenting about a Skate fans forum oin this thread? oh
  7. All European final? Nah they'll give it to some "emerging nation" now
  8. Watching any game involves around 2 weeks of planning, getting people to schedule meetings with me for a week with a home game. That is always my mantra when I look to come back. The JPT final cost me around 700 pounds for the flight ticket, 50 quid for the hotel and 30 quid for the train fares before match day tickets beer and food. Leicester away (1-4, just like watching Brazil cost me around 300 quid. Cardiff cost me around 800 quid) Changing Satellite systems so I can watch L1 games next year cost me 150 quid for the 4 0r 5 times we'll be on telly The cost of a ticket is nothing. The AVAILABILTY of a ticket for me is everything
  9. For those of you still using Windows Vista or IE 6 your computer may not have recognised the irony Filter in Windows 7. My apologies for any emotional stress caused :vuvu: Bring it on 2010/11 THE season I wished I was an ST Holder and at SMS every week Sign the best players for the League we are in. Wonder where that idea came from?
  10. Dear Lord what is WRONG with you people Nothing happens for weeks and then one small snippet and you're all Happy Clappers. FFS Not a single moan, He's a CCC quality RB, that's RUBBISH - we shouldn't be signing that sort of player. How does this solve our problem of playing on ploughed fields on Tuesday nights. And who is this AP bloke you all give Kudos to? I thought he'd left already and been replaced by Owen as Player DOF First Team Doctor Rubbish signing. Why haven't we signed Lahm? Very disappointed
  11. Eric you tosser. You are old enough to have learnt to stick to OSH by now, I do the Cab Savs and you do OSH. Stick to the script you muppet
  12. Question Arjen Robben scored from a header from a cross this evening. I can't remember that many crosses actually finding a player. Anyone have any access to any statistics. Headed goals from crosses in this WC vs the average in the last 3 or 4, bet that figure and also the number scored from corners is way down
  13. Tonight we had John Helm commetating, Souness, Venables and Hoddle in the studio. Oh and I have found out who the Chick is that does the World Cup News section Lauren Souness. Graeme may have done marvellous things on the footie pitch and as manager at The Dell but that pales into insignificance as to what came out of his loins. Mamma I would :rule1:but all I could find was her facebook page in Arabic and trust me that doesn't work
  14. Ah ha so you guys finally got to the Nirvana we have been watching of ONLY a commetator. Couple of cracking goals but technically not a good game at all, Well done to the Dutch Manager for changing tactics at HT, and oh look at that uruguay concede an offside goal. I love the smell of Karma in the morning The Sports Bar at Emirates Golf Club had 1200 Dutchies in it tonight, good reason to go home and watch the second half. Dutch football fans with only beer is really not fun
  15. Guys, give it a rest. We all know that Minty and most of the players from that evening now all have new lives as Professional Footballers & Photogrpahers up the road doing their bit to ensure the Blue Few's embarassment continues. It is also TSW's secret plan - Granty put a fiver accumulator on the few losing all their first five games by 10-0 or more so he could set up a fund to give installment plans for our worse off fans and also to buy out ML so that DBP can become the chairman he believes we need OK OK so I'm as bored as the rest of the members on here. I blame the Mods - Admin OUT. We PAY for a service get off your asses and give us some NEWS
  16. Oi STOP IT. Everyone's bored, surely we can have a good argument about nothing to fill in the days until the squad fly to Interlaken with Owen, Heskey & Beckham
  17. Lol and then you'd have 8,000 threads as to how the club had ripped off the ST holders (like we did last season at times when the club did specials) We don't HAVE to sell 32,000 tickets - we will HAVE to sell around some abstract number such as 18,000 every week to "break even", but we'll probably be getting close to 24/26 providing we get a good start and are on target for automatic promotion. Oh, and BTW, the variable costs of a crowd of 32,000 will still be a little higher than a crowd of 24,000 as the whole print runs, stewarding policing etc will need a bit more effort (remember the Ticket Office queus for walk ups at some games last season? The reason we WANT 32,000 is the atmosphere and getting the next generation of kids hooked it will get there with good football and good results (ie a Product that the un-committed customer would WANT to watch). Ain't no point having 32,000 watch (for example) The Dutch disaster. Field of Dreams this season, build it on the pitch and the results and they will come.
  18. oh c'mon, we all know who it is, we need cover for Rickie. We all know Rickie should have gone to the WC with England so obviously we'll get Heskey as cover on a season long loan
  19. Why would they? We've still got Paul Wotton on the bench. See - I can do it too :
  20. Start by not scoring the strokes you take. Use Stableford points. A par 5 for a 24 handicapper can suddenly become a par 7 and you can be on the green with 4 reasonably hit 6 irons, 3 putts and bingo - Par. The brain then picks a different mode. As for writing it down - NO WAY - that makes you THINK about what you are doing. At the MOST you should just note "Greens hit in regulation or number of putts per round" what you will find is thinking makes you think in your swing and flub.
  21. Two tips Hammie 1) Golf is not a game of perfect by Dr Bob Rotella. Took it on a holiday to Portugal and it totally changed my golf. In simple terms walk up hit ball end of. 2) Go watch a European Tour event for 4 days. I'm lucky enough to be involved in the ones down here. I've seen Jimenez on a par 3 take 5 from 10 feet away. Els 3 putt from 4 feet, Els, McGinley and others hit a 3 wood lying dead centre in the fairway 50 yards. I've seen Tiger hack into the desert and when Rory won last year I saw him slice it into the same trees us hackers think it would be impossible to go into The prefect shot happens once or twice a round. Getting to understand that makes you understand you're just gonna score a 94 instead of a 92 when you hit a bad shot. Last September I played in the US the first 8 holes - actual par on everyone. My mate told me what my stableford points score was ( I play off 24) last hole double bogey and that was as close as I got to a par for the rest of the round. Everyone makes a bad shot all the time (Hell even Justin Rose 3 putted twice yesterday) the ONLY thing everyone else is thinking is thank fook that wasn't me Good golf is in the head
  22. Gordon Ramsey. The food in his restaurant here is fantastic. But he is a real bloke and also (cue story again - slitting of wrists on the forum) "My Hero". I got an upgrade from cattle class to Biz on Emirates 5 years ago, bloke asks if I would swap the Aisle seat for the window - it was Ramsey. Sat next to him for 8 hours talking about Football, food, Dubai, the life here clubbing Emirates girls and stuff. Long talk about Saints he had a four letter name for Lowe that started with c and ended with *nt I asked if he was doing one of his gala dinners yep - he got me a table for my (ex) wife's 50th. 8 courses with wine, at the end he's going round the tables talking to guests, ex has no idea what's coming. He walks over & says "I hear it's someone's birthday give us a kiss and promptly snogs her, looks up and says "Where we going clubbing Phil?" Oh the wife's face was a picture, but she duly dropped me off at the club. I get the the club, 4 best mates giving me cr@p for being late "Sorry I was out with a Celeb" yeah yeah Bulls*t He walks in comes over and clocks the lads and says "Wow Phil you were right let's get a drink and then get laid" puts his arm round my shoulders walks me to the bar orders me a drink and says - "That wasn't over the top or anything was it?".. I'm just rofl'ing and the mates are standing there with chins on chests and one had dropped his drink. Priceless. He's a bloke who made it in a tough world has over extended himself these days but I'd watch him telling some loser how the world works over one of those luvvies like James from Saturday Kitchen.. Oh I also love the Hairy Bikers Merrilees Parker works for me for some reason & had a great meal at Jun Tanaka's restaurant
