FIFA rule protects Lambert & Hammond from leaving
dubai_phil replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Ah ha, the old sleight of hand trick eh! We all look THAT way worrying about Lambert & Hammond and woosh http://www.tribalfootball.com/fulham-boss-hodgson-targets-southampton-youngster-lallana-519901 Mind you, 1.5mil ROFL and all that -
Morgan should be fit, that's good news http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4815728.Morgan_fit_for_Boxing_Day_clash/?ref=rss

Not sure they have enough confidence in Rashid yet for a test, hence why they took Treadwell in the party. More likely to be Wright, he at least has some bottle if not the technique for Test Cricket, can't be that difficult to score more runs than Bell? Cook will keep his place, he "has too many runs in the bag" from previously before his technique messed up, and the only alternatives as opener would be Trott Prior or Bell, and that ain't gonna happen Although depending on the weather conditions and the state of the pitch Sidebottom could get a surprise call up to wobble it around a bit. I'd go for Wright with Ryan if the conditions look like it could really swing around. Hopefully Steyn won't be quite ready

Of course, all this speculation regarding which day is what forgets the impact of Time Zones. It will of course be Christmas Day when it is Christmas Eve. Which is probably why taking a bus would be the wise choice. Don't worry though, I'm sure the weather will screw the schedule up... But, in reality, seems the management at BS cannot be the brightest commercial buttons on the planet. There's Saints having a huge Boxing Day crowd with many wanting to go home after a few beers and the game and they haven't noticed. Surely they could have put on some "Football Specials" Ho hum

Bruno is probably THE single most "wrong" thing I have ever sat through, and as a result was really funny once you got into it. Having been to Beirut & Jordan and seeing those scenes filmed there I can imagine what happened off camera - ROFL Off to see Avatar Thursday, looking forward to that. Had a house full of family and mates couple of weeks ago we watched Superbad. Twice in a week. That IS the classic :smt046 movie of all time, get through the first uncomfotable 15 minutes then it just rocks. The two cops have to be the silliest movie characters in a long long time

You will be pleased to know that this is all a figment of your imagination The BBC forecast is for Grey skies and sleet for North Hampshire So you're all making it up just like the Hurricane
-
Why thankyou. Keeping to positive energy, your Christmas stocking will be stuffed with exactly the things you need and 2010 will bring you a ticket to the play-off finals. And of course, the joy of another 5 months of positive energy watching the train crash. Hopefully they'll stay up so we can watch it again next year. Hell, I almost enjoy watching them as much as I enjoy watching Superbad on DVD

Anyone know if it has got down as far as Salisbury? May have to start worrying about my mum

"Speak to anyone in the world and they know all about Pompey winning the FA Cup" hahahahahahahahahahahha the muppet doesn't even realise that only a few parts of the world even BOTHER to show the FA Cup these days. Oh I do hope he doesn't drop in here during his tour looking for money he may find out why we let him have Fahim & Faraj.... I may not be that popular at any future pompey Poly reunions :-)

Nah, if you can make it to Beachy Head you can max out your credit card and head down to Bangkok for NYE. That will sort you out until you have to pay the bill. Well, it will sort me out anyway feck it I'm on holiday

Extra Mayo on the bread (Italian) first Then simply Tuna, Tomato & Jalapenos - but that was another thread. Seriously gang, was driving up to Heathrow on Friday and it was really pretty. Sounds now as though it has turned ugly, so may you and loved ones be safe tonight. I joke, but I once had to spend the night on the M6 in snow, it really isn't fun, especially as I had an Austin Allaggro at the time (borrowed I may add) Hope Eric's enjoying his skiing holiday in Lancashire

I agree, enjoy what makes you happy. Watching them down the road suffer makes me Happy so I enjoy it. I wouldn't have enjoyed it except for the fact of the txt messages and emails I got when we were close to extinction, but now I take positive energy from enjoying it. Being a Saints fan right now gives me positive energy - Damn I FEEL good on Saturdays rather than dreading them. Then, on top of that I see the stories and - yep it makes me fell even MORE positive about Life, The Universe and Everything. Being a Saints fan right now is great, when the people who gave me nothing but "negative waves" are suffering, it's even better. Only ONE Skate mate actually gave me any sympathy & support - I give that back and yep it makes me feel EVEN better! Now if only Man U fans could start to worry and suffer life would be perfect

I suppose this would be a really bad time to mention that I ate my Subway lunch while sitting on the Beach and paddling in the sea today in a balmy 20C :-)

True, but not even slightly amusing:) This one is a bit of an oops though http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/6847363/Schiffers-special-treatment-on-nightmare-Eurostar-journey.html Everyone's equal unless you're a fit chick with a big contract with (wait for it) yes that's right - a FRENCH company... I'm not racist but I fecking hate the damned French.....
-
Did I spot some trolls on here? How the feck did the Eurostar story turn into a rant about Kiddie Porn lists of names? Must be the cold weather. Anyway, if they hadn't been French on that train then they'd have known the problem straight away. It was the wrong type of Snow

I'm reminded of that old Disco classic - Don't push it, don't force, it let it happen naturally... All good things come to those who wait

Just had a loltastic moment.... Tried to explain this to my Polish GF...... (Who obviously (thank fook) has never watched X Factor as it is not on down here - as good a reason to emigrate as Politics & taxes IMHO) Anyway, the classic response was - You British, no wonder nobody can understand your sense of humour, why is this funny? are Rage Against the Machine something to do with Monty Python? Cue an attack of the ROFL's - which means I'm sleeping on the doormat again tonight But worth it
-
What a feckin great result. Well done you lot back there. Great Effort

Every team needs a Delap or a Telfer. We'd all prefer NOT to need one, but in every squad they are vital. IMHO I think we need a good DM with distribution skills. Cover for Lambert (ie a CF type who can hold the ball up and bring others into play, not just the scoring skill) as I think we would miss that part of his game more than anything else if he was injured or suspended. A young but not raw CB (Trottman before he had some sort of brain fart) And, depending on the prognosis on Murty a Right Back. We'll probably lose one or two that we don't want to and that will no doubt mess things around a bit
-
It isn't Christmas yet. We've already played 29 games. The fixture list shows a total of 55 games this season assuming we get knocked out of both cups. Compare that to an average European League, how many games do they get to play? English football is too greedy, want too many games and there is no way 2 weeks could be lost from a fixture list that big, hell there'd be no time for the Cricket season
-
Lining up a creative attacking midfielder. Strange nobody asks the obvious question - why? especially when we have a very good one at the moment... Oh. Meanwhile, I know what to get many on here, Reading Glasses for Christmas chaps... Rooney 2 is a MIDFIELDER. Now where's the rumours about cover for Lambert?
-
Whoa there. I wasn't Supporting it, I was saying it doesn't matter two hoots whether fans OR players want it, because of GREED no football club in England will ever vote to allow two or more weeks without income. The Xmas quote/example was to match David's "Germany is now closed" was about clubs not wanting to miss the selling opportunity of having their shops closed when they can pump kids full of crap made in Chinese factories exploiting low paid labour to maximise their profits! Whether the break is over Christmas or in January is irrelevant, it will never happen. As a FAN, I would support a break in seasons when we have a World Cup or Euro Championship if only to give the England players a rest and to the chance to cure "niggling" injuries. Hell, I miss the Boxing Day games and will never forget the nightmare of that early morning new Year's Day game at The Dell against Arsenal with the hangover from hell. The issue about winter break won't happen, English teams play too many football matches and burn their players out. They'd be better having a few less games of better quality but again that ain't gonna happen either. As for what date you pick, when did English weather EVER follow a reliable pattern:), set the break for Jan/Feb you'll be knee deep in snow at the end of April for 2 weeks!

Do I hate Skatesmuff or do I simply pity them? Tough call, they spent so long dreaming of days when only their Grandparents existed, got all excited and then poof. Nah hate the feckers. Others - I like watching the way Arsenal play football these days but hate their fans who put me in hospital simply because I wasn't smiling when walking out a game early to avoid trouble. Mancs am starting to also get p1ssed off with citeh fans as well, look forward to seeing them slip up For some reason never liked Forest, but the runners up behind Skates have to be the two Milan teams followed by Argentina - not because I don't like them as a team, just every local down here wears an Argetina shirt when England are playing just to p!ss us off for some reason. But the worst, by a long stretch in the realms of sports related hate has become the Yarpies. Nowt to do with football but simply their offensive, loud mouthed arrogant attitude to all things especially their beloved Rugby team. Hell, they're about the only thing in sport that Aussies, Kiwis and Poms can agree about! District 9 the movie shows them up for what they really are

MB you should know by now that any public support of a Saints Legend caught DD means you must apologise and vow to ensure a set of Xmas Bewbs is mailed to all PM'ers http://www.dailysoccerblog.net/29-soccer-players-caught-drink-driving/
