  1. Wow, that must have REALLY got to you? Obviously you were persecuted at school or something... Oh and YOU TWERP - your phone was switched off this morning lol you'll hurt even more this evening when you find out what you missed out on :smt040
  2. Any male, with any remote interest in sport who allows his future wife to "push" for a date that could interfere with a significant global sporting event might as well simply send her half of everything you own. It will not last, she will not understand and it will end in tears. Fact (Approx 2/3rds of all men are interested in sport of some sort (excluding skate fans of course) approx 2/3rds of marriages end in divorce these days. Case closed - just send her your money and spare the pain and legal fees)
  3. You forgot to include Dark Matter, the impact on the timeline from the Large Hadron Collider and MOST importantly the complete absence of any sign of an I or S in your equation (Injuries or suspensions) Namely that Rickie is showing some strain already and looks like he could do with at least a week off, and while we have an excellent striker in Connolly, our style of play is such that any loss of Lambert for a week or two to injury or suspension would leave a major hole in our playing style. Think that is a far easier way to look at things rather than lies damned lies and statistical analysis stuff
  4. What do Tiger Woods and baby seals have in common? They're both in danger of being clubbed by Norwegians! Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. He couldn't decide between the iron or the wood. His wife Elin told police that she went for a rescue wood. But it looks like she really went for the driver. Did you hear that he inspired a new Kung Fu movie to be released? "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Hydrant." Did you make it out of your own driveway safely this morning? Then you can say that you outdrove Tiger Woods. Elin Nordegren got hired today as a consultant. She's teaching Phil Mickelson how to beat Tiger. Did you hear about Tiger's last outing? He drove into a tree, then ended up with a bad lie. What kind of club did Elin swing at Tiger? Looks like it was a *****ing wedge. What's the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 350 yards. What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2.30 in the morning? They went clubbing.
  5. Dubai Rugby 7's all weekend, just seen some pictures that show I was apparently there. :-) Completely forgot there was a game on Saturday. Only just worked out that the txt messages from EoA were new ones not ones from a week or so ago. How could I have been the only one in the prediction league NOT to pick 3-1? Great result though and brightened by the news that it's a year until the next 7's so may have a chance to recover and also that I have to make a biz trip next week so I'll be able to be back home for the Norwich game!
  6. Might be some out of contract players down the road in January. Won't have to pay re-location expenses
  7. Good read Ron. But it is obviously written by someone who has never met the man. He's almost more mechanical than Smith makes out. When he walks from the practice green to the first tee, you can almost see a switch being thrown in his head, the eyes glaze over and you know he is "in the zone" Self hypnosis is the only word. The minute he completes his round, click, a different programme is loaded, within a millisecond of coming out of the scorers hut he is in TV & Press interview mode. No more than 5 minutes after leaving the playing field. Everything is focused in mentioning or showing his sponsor logos and spreading the Brand Woods. Then, the switch is thrown and there are the fans, he is immediately scanning for the smallest ones, he makes the diversion to sign 4 or 5 autogrpahs and give a glove or a ball to the smallest, then, the minute he is clear, the switch goes and there is a human being in there. A couple of quips, with his caddy or his manager, a review of the evening sponsor functions and when he expects to get back to the hotel. Every time he has played a tournament he has arranged for a round of beers to be brought for his support team, again, all part of the programmed machine. Like Smith says, it is really hard to understand how a mere human can be so focused so as to be almost a machine. He is a wonderful golfer who has done a great deal for the game. Like Smith's article, apart from the zillions, perhaps the game is taking his humanity away. There is an easy solution of course. He could retire, but then the world of golf would be a really dull place Must be tough being so rich and so successful, we'd all hate it I'm sure....... NOT
  8. I love it when a plan comes together.
  9. IMHO the train wreck will continue for some time. It will be in the PL's interest to continue to bend every rule in the book up until the point that they get relegated. This will run and run and run
  10. Alpine is, for me, a really important member of our online fraternity.... I need him...... He has wobbled a bit of late, but his persona reminds me why I left the ex wife.........
  11. After the evening in Dubai, we know that the real Matthew Le Tissier would have already chosen....... All of the above
  12. Burn the Witch, burn the witch! Boy did you miss Rosie on form last night. Place was chocka with 7's players - about 4 rows standing in front of the stage. Could swear Rosie played Sweet Child of Mine with her naughty bits at one point when she took over lead guitar... But I haven't been very well today
  13. yes not only hot but she is a really nice person but she wouldn't get into the Master Bates PM's lists Which may explain a lot HTH
  14. I'm no expert, but have a mate who is learning the whole "make money on the web thing", so here is a couple of really base level (bleedin obvious) ideas to work from With an ebay account, the critical issue then is to drive people to that, apparently this is then where we as fans can help by driving people to sign up to facebook groups, we act as the "advertising" and anyone with a blog or Twitter can do the same. You need to set Ron up with a scanner or something to save having to run around yourself and show him how to get up and running. Maybe a Twitter site so people can request or order pictures for him to put onto Ebay With 200 or so active members on here pushing it out to our network (of in my case) 2 friends we could actually get coverage. A letter to the Echo and maybe the web-site team and we could be up and running In "marketing" terms, a couple of "freebie specials" for auction at Charity events will also go a very long way. Get this right & Big Ron should be needing to come to Southampton to meet his customers, not just his fans.
  15. Is it just me or has St Landrew stumbled upon the plot for an unpublished Harry Potter book with his Thread Title? Having not seen him play live either, I wonder from our resident experts how they would compare "The Papa Offsides" with the "BWP Offsides". Reading opinion on here it seems that Papa is getting into positions but it is a matter of minute tweaks to the timing of his runs, whereas with BWP it seemed to be that he was just thick? Any thoughts?
  16. Great idea Tim. Must try and find an easy way to find a wider route to market for him than just this forum so that he starts to get enough work to keep busy from it.
  17. Well done Bart 1st clean sheet for ages Thx Eric for txting me updates while I was out taking daughter, her BF & my GF to dodgy bars on the Dubai tour.. Seaview was humming tonight damned shame the band wouldn't play OWTS. Next
  18. Ah yes good point, however that was on Sky
  19. Once upon a time in a Galaxy Far Far Away... A TSW member was working as a volunteer at a golf tournament. This approaching golfer was renowned for wild drives, so he was assigned to work with an (allegedly) hunky Swedish bloke in making sure they found Tiger's golf ball. Anyway, as Tiger approached the 10th Green, the boys were sheltering under a Palm Tree when these two fit chicks stopped by... (one blonde, one brunette) So, do you guys work here or are you on vacation? says the Swede. Giggles from the fit chicks who reply "we're sort of working temporarily I suppose" was the answer TSW member summons up his courage and asks Oh, so you seen any of the real Dubai, The Seaview, Ravi's? Drank any Bullfrogs?" - more giggles. Hey at least you guys must have been shopping down Karama? says the Swede. At which point the blonde really fit chick says, "Hey guys, great effort, but you really have no idea who we are do you?" - strangely, the TSW member was sharp enough to reply "Of course we do, you're two really fit chicks standing under a Palm Tree on a Golf Course"....... More giggles followed by "that was really funny, but we have to go now, our fiances are coming". At which said fit chicks moved off to rejoin the entourage with a smile and a wave. Which was when said Marshalls realised it had been Mark Steinberg's & Tiger's fiances.... God bless him, after the round the man himself came up and said, well done guys, we haven't laughed so much on a golf course for ages.... and said Marshalls received free beer all night for being such numpty heroes. Would have been funny for the Marhsalls as well if only their wives hadn't watched the whole 2 minutes of the encounter on TV...
  20. hahahahahahahahahahahaha..... Serves them right for the Sarkosky Box hoax gag
  21. Give Le God a wave from us at the game please chaps.
  22. Oh dear. 1) Saudi money cannot be behind it because he is employing Israeli's. End of discsussion 2) What are his other potential sources of money? He either has to find the money in the "Greater Middle East" or he has to find it in "Emerging Markets". At the end of the day his most likely source would have been "Bank Loans" from "Banks in the Middle East". That source of "High risk funding just went extremely publicly t1ts up.. Get past Atticus's finger and you can see why. Dubai World owes $80bn to ME banks. They just froze repayments - sure the banks won't LOSE that money, the announcement today from Abu Dhabi shows that. Just they ain't gonna get their cash back for about 10 years. Add to that the fact that what villas Nakheel DID sell, 60% of them went to - yup, Arabs. Guess who THEY borrowed from? Yup, ME banks... The property collapse in Dubai means they are worth around 40% of what most of the loans are for.. Think that is called Sub Prime part 2. So, where is a local branch bank manager going to get his cash from? Hell, I have more chance of getting Nakheel to pay ML $100mil cash up front for Saints right now than Al Faraj has of getting any more Loan money/Bank Debt. His only other sources will be China or the left overs of old man Dawood's alleged money laundering empire (google him and Dubai and White House)
  23. Wrong, they are places that you can go to and use your mobile phone without fear of interuption from any outside traffic noise
  24. A minor technical point for anyone ever thinking of passing by this way, the locals do not treat "gestures" in the same way they are viewed in the UK. Many expat motorists have, in the heat of the moment, resorted to using this gesture when cut up by idiot locals. The result is always the same, their car is rammed off the road, the police are called and an automatic one month Jail Sentence and a 1,500 pound fine follow. (Oh and their insurance is invalidated as they had performed a criminal act and they have to pay for the repairs to both cars) HTH
  25. Pedantic point, we aren't the Man City - we WIN games.... You also forget one thing in your calculations, the club will still be at best breaking even or even losing money. The estimated monthly losses with the old squad were around 500k a month, we have kept Saga & Thomas who are on higher salaries. So when you say ML has spent so much to buy the club and so much on players, you may find even WITH the higher attendances that the actual cash flow of the club needs supporting, not by much but it won't be a small figure, until such time as the player salary/contracts issue works its way out the club (Saga) and to an extent Thomas
