  1. Ok google kings Richard Williams is from Heaton Heaton is very close to Blackburn Who else do we know that is from that part of the world and has the surname Williams? Uncles, brothers, cousins or just seeing reds under the beds?
  2. Ah yes, but was the bid less than Pinnacle's or was it less than...... Have mentioned before that the structure is the thing, it is possible to bid more than Pinnacle but still not get acceptance. Was IMHO probably in all likelihood the difference between CASH and Deferrals. So if Pinnacle bid 12.3mil cash and the Swiss bid 12mil cash Pinnacle would win as the deal is better for the creditors But IF Swiss bid 12mil and offered to pay (for example) Aviva an extra million a year for 5 years when we get back to the PL, the Swiss bid becomes 17mil and better for the creditors. However, Fry would still stick with the cash figure. Never as easy as it all seems But your post again shows how the PR swayed decision making. Just imagine OUR reaction 4 weeks ago if some secret Johnny Foreigner had kicked MLT into touch... HOW many ST's would have been sold???
  3. Stern John returns to training hoping to Milka new contract at SMS
  4. Oh FFS Saints saved from the Pinnacle by Alipne rescue Team TSW in turmoil as attention shifts from Whacko to Alps Saints fans Watch and wait and hope Fry doesn't Clock up new Saints hope
  5. Just for the record, I have no doubts that when they set out, Pinnacle had backing. Fry would never have let them through the door. However, it seemed odd that while (most) others remained professional and silent, Pinnacle conducted all their work in the public eye. While it is not "fair" to label Farmer as a "Plant" he, and others who posted on here "In Good Faith" did have a (probably to them) unwitting media management impact in helping to sway public opinion behind Pinnacle. As did the "interesting" sudden arrival of virulent "anti anybody else" posters at the time. It is publci record that after looking at the BT internal Due Dilligence information 3 of the 4 investors pulled out, (TBF IF people could have actually took a closer look at the figures for last year and the cash flow forecasts, many fans and investors would have had to take a deep breath.) The issue with Pinnacle is that having lost 3 backers, they sailed into battle with one, and doubts remained in my mind at the time (and now clearly to everyone else) as to how committed that one person was to the project. The media management campaign made it VERY difficult for anyone to question them or their structure. Was Fry taken in by this as well? He granted their exclusivity allegedly less than 72 hours after informing a rival group that no other bidders were at the table, and allegedly about 48 hours after having an argument with the legal team of a rival bid regarding a clause in the exclusivity agreement. IMHO I think that the spin, plants and media management played a role in them getting as far as they did. I doubt they ever really had their final remaining moneyman nailed down on a contract and had hoped that the DD process would either cement that relationship or provide an alternative backer. In the end, the reality was that TL was left standing up in public as naked as MJ in the Bournemouth fiasco. The only differences were that TL had a spell checker, and didn't try and talk about Football on TV but instead offered his wealthy backer to the press, the result was the same, wasted time. The lesson for everyone on this? If you want to buy a football club - 1) STFU 2) Have EVERYTHING nailed down in contracts BEFORE you start talking (However that is really not that easy to do in reality!)
  6. This one will never be proven unless one of the creditors or a senior exec at BT makes a public statement. I'm happy with my view on this and I did mention my misgivings about Fry way back in May based on input from the "Industry" in general and while results in the end count, personally I think that while his actions may well have led to 3 or 4 weeks of extra fees for BT, the delay has caused damage to the club, it's squad and it's preparations for what will be a difficult season. Because the fees increased, I do think that also increases the likelihood that the creditors will receive less and so they may well also be asking similar questions in the future although likely not in public
  7. So wealthy (ish) new owners, so far nothing to indicate experience so have to start by assuming No great track record of running a football club No "hands on" experience of the history of our club No knowledge of the "hangers on" that spent the last however many years getting freebies in the Director's box (insert names to fit own anti-luvvie position here) Great news IMHO - a clean break and a fresh start. The next big set of questions will be who will he/she/it bring in to actually manage the running of the club? Will we have a set of Execs? Will we have a hands on owner? Chairman? CEO/MD? FD? DoF? What will the scouting network be looking for? Plenty more to come, weeks worth of speculation.. How many experienced Execs available that are any good? Lee Hoos won't come back I'm sure. Could we make 200 pages?!
  8. You HAVE to be joking right??!! How about - how the hell did he rush Pinnacle into exclusivity and waste FOUR weeks when THESE guys were talking to him??.... Which is what the senior partners at BT will no doubt be asking him if he saves his ass and our club with this.
  9. PR, spin and plants from Day One, but this time round seems like not only this place fell for it, so did Fry
  10. So did some of us And hopefully one day we'll find out Was there ANY mention about "The Other Bid"? still sounds good though Onwards and upwards.
  11. Take your pick http://pipl.com/directory/name/Liebherr Knowing our luck it's this one http://pipl.com/directory/name/Liebherr/Bobbi still could do a better job of running us than all the other incumbents of the past 4 years or so
  12. That could actually be VERY good news. Let's face it, if it is a family member they may not be so hands on with running the successful company and may well be simply a rich person with more wealth than sense and a lot of time on their hands.. straw graps
  13. Phew, well done to Thorpie, some serious debate about his choice of type face and his subsequent banning order has seen us safely over that critical milestone for this morning's events yep it drove us across the 95 page barrier Has TSW actually had a thread that reached 100 pages before? Are we experiencing the Wimbledon Final of takeover threads? What will happen when it is revealed that it was one of Leon Rupert Askham MJ TL Helpmerhonda Harry Redknapp Barry the Briefcase The Fake Sheikh Thaksin The Big Bad Wolf Adolf Hitler Josef Mengele Richard Fry etc That was the "middleman" for the consortium.........
  14. Yes, I agree, perhaps the mods could change his default type face setting to Comic Sans MS.... tish boom
  15. Oh alright, entering into the spirit and considering it is the Echo Liebherr -Yo'del for us say fans Liebherr to construct new future for Saints Saints fans craning their necks for first sight of new owners Liebherr in the mix to cement plans for SMS etc
  16. Lol MB predicting the Echo when we all know he gets to "buy a copy" before anyone else while walking to the Newsagents
  17. No chance. Rattlesnakes doesn't open until 7pm tonight! Hope that the whole takeover thingy doesn't happen today.. It MUST be Friday - then we have a proper reason to go to Waxy's & Karaoke on Friday! (Oh alright that's WAY too long to wait!)
  18. Sue You've been off line for a week. Things are happening. Obviously YOU are the llucky mascot so take one for the team and we'll see you back here next Sunday with it all done and dusted and the 7th (ish) richest club in England...
  19. Was with some of the traffic marshalls. The story seemed to start with a fatal accident on the M4/M5, that led to a tail back that went all the way back to Bristol. Then there was another accident think it was a Lorry fire on either the A39 or A37 which also had to be closed by the police. One of the only other roads then had roadworks... We got 2.5 miles outside Shepton on the A361 at 12:45, went back to Frome and cut up to Radstock then across country and came out 2.5 miles north of Shepton. It then took me until 5:05pm to reach the site. The mate I was giving a lift to got out the car by the Gaymers factory in Shepton at 3pm and walked. They got to their registration bang on 4pm. I arrived at 5:15. The problem got worse and because the car parks have to shut at 10pm, there were huge numbers of cars and distressed hot fed up people being corralled into temporary staging areas. The problems were further compounded as many people stuck on coaches in the heat got off to walk for a few minutes to get some air - especially in Shepton, then suddenly one road would clear for a few minutes and during the night there were hundreds of kids walking into the site with all their gear on coaches that they had lost/couldn't find. In the end the road from Shepton to Frome was a car park and the traffic was backed up and slow moving all the way onto the A303 Organisationally it wasn't a screw up, some people died and the knock on effect produced an almost perfect storm. All I could say was thank fook my rental car had a/c Those who finally got in on Thursday found that most of the camping spots inside had been taken and were stuck right down on the south of the farm or by the toilets - yuk But have to say that Radio Somerset & Worthy FM were close to useless at telling people what was going on and why and how long it would take. And as for the traffic radio station we found it was simply rubbish
  20. I take the credit for that - in pidgin O Level only just German, Liebe = Love, Herr is sort of = MR or man. Somebody else mentioned James May doing a thing about one of their trucks which suddenly brought to mind the Top Gear special in the US where they drove from Miami to New Orleans and had to paint each other's cars as they went through Redneck country..... Hell, if they buy us and really run us properly I'll take the abuse. They invest mega bucks and take us into Europe - hell I'd wear the Tee-Shirt (Though not over here, they sort of don't like that type of thing, is like better to sh*g a fat chick on the beach in public than to wear a tee shirt saying THAT)
  21. An eagle - lol - although I once got a Pelican - topped snap hook drive into some reeds I bought a Donnay Tee Shirt once in Cardiff There is a great rule of thumb with Golf Balls at Dubai Creek course - buy cheap ones - there is one hell of a lot of water Interestingly though, back on subject a little, normally during the summer we bump into PL players down here on the course on their hols. (Is great for the celeb photos on the wall in the office thingy) but this year the only PL player anyone has seen has been Kanu. Maybe they all knew a skate player was coming here and all went in the other direction?!? Oh and did I mention I was on CNN once with The Fed Express and have the photo... ANYTHING to stop me worrying about the next few days!
  22. If they gain ownership of the club, then anyone they damn well want. They buy us, they appoint him and they back him. That's how it works. They may know the next Brian Clough/Alex Ferguson from their overseas base They may not even care about the club wanting only the car park as a storage location for their cranes while they are being unloaded. All I care is that we have a damn club next year, their train set, everyone else fooked it up, their turn.
  23. Now if you could only get some others to sign up with you to this deal....
  24. Well, staying power above and beyond any mere mortals Mental strength and belief And sheer obstinacy to accept defeat to achoeve a glorious and historical victory And Federer put in a fair effort as well. Always thought the Swiss were a little bit sort of neutral - not anymore Well done to Fed Express, let's hope it's a double whammy for that country this week (Then no doubt we will find out that Keith Harris is in the US talking to Paul Allen who is his client to buy us....) doh
