  1. Oh dear, poor old DP got a right load of stick back when the poopey deal got announced for pointing out that their big man may not be quite as big as our friends down the road thought, and mentioning it may be a little "dubious" - LMFAO Thaksin has been based in Dubai for some time trying to do dogdy and PR related deals, Fahim has a nickname here..... He wants to be the Middle East's "Mohammed Trump..." Google the Hydra Executive - no ego at all that guy. Real down to earth dude
  2. lol Or of course, this could be it - totally fits the bill from the spend way too much money that you don't have school of football management of the past few years, then without any possible doubt, Princess Maha will get it! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/5514600/Saudi-princess-runs-up-15-million-shopping-bill.html 15 million QUID on SHOPPING!!!????!!!?? FFS Saints are worth less than than a bag full of lingerie and a couple of watches
  3. Got it. Took some doing, wealthy, needing a new challenge, had the possibility of being out of work so it can only be Mahmoud Ahmadinejad About the only person apart from Mugabe who could make us more unpopular than we were, seeing as Thaksin is off down the road
  4. This nothingness is spreading to other blog/forum sites... http://www.oleole.com/blogs/saints-blog/posts/jenga-with-stubby-fingers-how-awful
  5. On the subject of Dolphins, unfortunately there weren't any yesterday when I went snorkelling at Snoopy Rock over on the East Coast in Fujeirah emirate. The only other two things of note were trying to decipher the news of a football transfer from a ranting Arabic reporter outside Old Trafford, and the fact that the BBQ provided by the hotel took around 1.5 bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon to light (time wise not fuel wise!) and actually managed to produce some of the best darned ribeye steaks I've cooked. (Oh the Jalapeno Shrimp ladders rocked) Interestingly, the sea temperature was 28C, which rather unfortunately obscured the fact that the outside air temperature in the shade was a gentle 48C, allowing us to pass our SPF factor rating. So, I would have been on here earlier postualting that it could actually have been the train's windscreen wiper that had intervened in the Bee story and caused a random chaotic event, but instead I found myself rummaging around the garden for a wild growing Aloe Vera plant with which to address the fact that my face and shoulders from that exposure to the sun feel like they have been stung by a million bees. Luckily we didn't drink alll the Zubrocwa, so there is an ample supply of painkiller. Now, most importantly was it a Honey Bee or a Bumble Bee? Did the accident occur in the northern or the southern hemisphere? and was Dr Who around in his Tardisat the time So, anyway, apart from sunburn I just spent two full days fantastically doing Nothing. It has a lot going for it!
  6. That's because American Beer contains no alcohol and tastes of Absolutely nothing
  7. Nothing to see here, move along please
  8. Thank the Lord that Tony Lynam was supposed to have been either at SMS or in Switzerland today (depending on which Echo story they print) Would have been horrific news IF
  9. Ah yes, now the next step in the logical thought process... Who benefits FINACIALLY from 3 weeks of exclusivity? And who benefits IF during that time the buyers are "scared away" and another few weeks have to happen with somebody new...... And of course, who actually gets screwed? Who's money is being eaten up during this time
  10. I feel a song coming on In fact you've given me an idea... Ah no sorry it wasn't important, probably nothing
  11. I do not believe that there is actually anything to add to the above two posts
  12. Could be something like Vegas Today at 6pm on ITV allegedly ran with this story ...... In Other news, Vegas Law Enforcement Officers are apparently seeking an elusive mystery punter who has allegedly been spotted in the MGM Grand and other gaming halls running up to big winners asking them to lend him their new found winnings to invest in some Sports Property related business in an unknown British Town called St Mary's. This alleged hustler is not known to possess any investment licences, and yet has been spotted outside the Stratospere imploring vistors to take him to the Top, or as he says, The Pinnacle. It is believed he may have sold his possessions and airplane ticket in order to pay off gambling debts, he is notable by what appears to be a vest of Red and White colours under a hoodie. He is described as being around 5 feet 8 and a bit, has possibly dyed blonde hair and seems to speak with a Britisher accent. he is not thought to be dangerous, just Lost. Anyone seeing this man should contact the nearest Virgin Atlantic office where his parents have wired him a return ticket Or something like that
  13. Interestingly, Dragonmart Mall in Dubai offers a centralised location for Chinese companies to get a toe hold into the supposedly lucrative Middle East market. While walking through the maze of shops today I mentioned - maybe I can get some cheap beach towels for my weekend snorkelling - and lo and behold - I get 4 at 1.80 EACH. Wow, I could do with a nice summer bed cover, but you never find thin cotton ones - and the next shop had one at 19 quid. Then found a shop selling fake football shirts. Ha I said I remember the days when you could get fake Saints shirts in Thailand for about 3 quid. AMAZINGLY the shop had absolutely NO fake Saints Shirts on sale. Luckily, there was also a shop offering BIG DEELS (yes the spelling was right) So I had to do it - went in and asked if they had any news on any BIG DEELS. They said yes. 70% off Battery powered LED lamps that flashed in Red & White stripes.. Now THERE's a deal reckon I should get a few hundred for the Mega Store next season
  14. Bugger, if it is a "load of questions" then their forum will go ballistic. Hope he gets as much sh*t as others did when they tried to ask some questions early in the week. It cannot HELP the process so it is plain wrong. Thank goodness I'm off snorlkelling with Sharks at the weekend, much safer
  15. Uh oh Well probably because My daughter just got back with the rotisserie chicken and I lost my thought train at that point I then had to go and make Jalapeno Shrimp Ladders (Ainslie special on Beeb Food) for our "beach trip bbq at the weekend") As for MB - I have to leave at 6am and won't have internet all weekend so I really would like to know what Mr Law's new story is - surely he is running out of things to say as much as this place by now......
  16. On a lighter note, the Echo have allegedly been charging round looking for quotes to tie in with tomorrows big story. Will it be The aftermath of Patred's prank Who leaked the nasty Pinnacle stories The completion of the deal or uh oh Master Bates - better get up early tomorrow your forum may need you
  17. IMHO Three options 1) It is a business person who is successful, OR some form of equity/property fund. IF something goes wrong by maintaining silence there is no impact on their business reputation (eg avoid a Jacko scenario) 2) There wasn't one but they were still looking when they found the deposit 3) It is a household name who doesn't want to be named as it would make all the smaller creditors, players out of contract, players/manager/coaches being targetted want more money out of them. My bet would be 1)
  18. Anyone talking about a five year plan to "Get back into the Premiership" is IMHO doomed to fail. The PLAN should be to return to and secure our place in the Premiership. There is a lot of difference. Getting there could be done with a small squad, motivated players and a good coach (ie Burnley). It is the planning to actually STAY there and be established ie not yoyoing that is the problem. To stay up needs a player and wages investment of getting on for 50 mil. Hull got away with it this year because of their good start and because Boro forgot that you have to score goals to win games and Newcastle just self imploded. Building a plan to get to the PL is good and achievable on a low budget with good management and luck, but to plan for one without being aware of the need for the risk of the other - ie buying PL quality players on PL level wages and long contracts is a really hard thing to do And needs around 50 million pounds WISELY spent at least
  19. :smt011 :smt021 although, to be fair, you're probably right, after all, my place normally has a queue outside the door of said chicks waiting to stay over. But I am very fussy, Dunkin Donuts are BANNED! Automatics at Alpha on Friday - may get back from Sandy Beach in time to see if there's any monsters coming after you (ie intimating you're over the hill)
  20. Scooby, Stanley & 19C are on their way, sounds fun!
  21. Very funny, well done patred! Now, could a mod PLEASE amend the thread title to help save the planet and stop another 4,976 people reading this thread from start to finish and 1) Using up valuable scarce fossil fuels in running their computers 2) Avoid hitting their own 65th without noticing life went on without them while they were on here!
  22. Many of the Sports Bars here carry the South African Channels for games that don't get wider English Language coverage - like England Internationals and Carling Cup. TP has been an excellent "studio expert" on there for a long time. I like others was lucky enough to see him play, and yet even today he still looks like HCDAJU
  23. Ouch Hang on, I have absolutely no issue with Crouch being a member of Tony's new board, it's not a bad move PR wise and he did have some time at the club, during which I would hope he learnt lessons from watching the cr*p around him. That is fine and he will be a good value add. You can never beat experience. But I would shudder if it was him actually getting the keys to play with the train set as Chairman, that would not fit into the bright new future I thought was coming with MLT & Tony. Would grin and bear it, but would be a little disappointed. Nothing I have seen in the leak earlier today makes me think that is actually likely, but I would start to worry if some of the others come back with him, LM, MC et al
  24. Last time there we snorkelled with a big group of Black Tip Reef Sharks. The largest was getting on for a good 3 metres in length. Looking forward to it - couple of the bungalows, stocked up on Rib Eyes & Booze and sun block, nice to get away from the internet for a weekend as well!
