Cheers thanks for that, so in theory then he should only have been dumped on by the Don't eat & drink bad things brigade. It seems centuries ago when I last went up there, they probably had at least 3 sides then as I recall

"Southampton dodge administration (for now)..."

As an FYI it was posted on here a few times before that the Stadium is on a fixed rate. But as you point out, IMHO nothing is ever as black and white as we try and paint it here and I'm sure people are burning up the midnight oil trying to keep us going and finding rabbits to pull out of hats. -

Uh yep they did... Darned if I'm going to trawl back through all of it, but in the press statements in the Echo and on the official site there was a very clear and specific statement when Wilde & Lowe came back in stating something along the lines that they were willing to engage in conversation with any party that had the funds available. Sure it can be argued that nobody has found anyone with funds available, but the answer to your question is yes they did say it in corprate legalese and it was printed a number of times -
Just passing through this thread, but can someone clarify The fan LEFT the "designated spectator area" and was between the stand and the perimeter hoarding and was asked to return? Surprised he ONLY got carted off by the police - would have expected 200 Health & Safety Nazi's, 180 Buildings Standards Commies and of course 225 Government Appointed Don't Eat or Drink things bad for your Health Inspectors didn't nab him as well. I won't pass judgement on what he said or did or how he did it, but forgetting the whole civil liberty/chav/freedom thing, it's kinda always been bad form to try and get outside of a "designated spectator area" at any event from Australia to UAE to USA...

It's that magic line "subject to availability" no doubt it will be as easy to get the game you want as it is to use airmiles to upgrade on British Airways... But that's another rant
-
Nah. We ARE short of CASH. We have a stock of shirts that aren't selling this time of year. The match voucher is subject to availability - let's face it, there have been plenty of empty seats all season. Oh and BOGOF is only on away kit. So more like buy a ticket for any home game that doesn't sell out and get a free shirt. May give us enough cash to pay the ref's match fees against Charlton Desperation is the mother of invention for Marketing people

Reducing costs is obviously important, but in the short term over the summer that will not help us out at all OK doing some really rough maths from some of the numbers bandied on here We owe the bank something like 4mil which they want back We will owe over 1 mil interest on the stadium loan which they will want Dumping out of contract players for free stops us paying wages but where is the CASH coming from to pay the rest over the summer. Rod Stewart's gig and our kick-about won't keep the club going all through Seems nobody wants to renew their season tickets (apparently) but let's say we get 4,000 at 350 quid average each gives 1.4 mil Now, the ST's cover the Stadium but don't give much to keep things running when there is no income in the close season and we still have to pay wages. So we look at the out of contract players and wonder who has some value as obviously we will have to sell. Nobody seems to buy players at the start of the transfer window so we may have to ask Aviva to wait for their cash and use some of the ST money to keep going. On that basis I would expect that KD would get a contract - as if we own him and his salary is sensible, we could get 750k at least for him and maybe more. I would hate to lose him, but he may be asked to help us keep going one more time... What chances of getting money for Saga/Rasiak/Skacel?? hmmm What would we get for Surman/Lallana? Maybe 500k for Dyer? Seems a struggle to get to 4 mil.... But it could still mean that maybe we WOULD renew one or two contracts simply to be able to get a fee for them later in the summer, dangerous game but even if we get through to May, the bank are still going to want to see that overdraft reduced. IMHO there is a lot of haggling going on behind the scenes

.......BTW FWIW. Something for you to bear in mind, I don't respond well to being shouted at. Reminds me too much of the ex wife.... OK got the point, I'll skip the page about how to throw/kick a football boot like Fergie in the changing room then -

Why - you think our lot will be quick enough to get near them? Anyway - there'll be no such thing as a FREE kick in the game - they'll all be costing you lot Meanwhile... Motivational cliches page 3 So we've moaned for months that the kids weren't ready to play football at SMS and now you older heads are worrying about playing against kids at SMS.... Dunno if I can get an oxygen tank on the plane as cabin baggage. Will duty free Jaegermeister do? I'm sure we can find somewhere in Southampton that sells the Red Bull to go with it - sure won't need no magic sponge in my team! CharlieMiller in the away dressing room, gets better and better. All we need now is to sort out the perfect hate figure as ref....... Anyone got Rupert's number.... Nah actually that wasn't even slightly funny -

I think the manager should allocate the shirt numbers based on the old proven track record of who buys the most beer.... Why do we have Season Tickets for 9 & 10? shouldn't we have CF & GITWB (getting in the way bloke) or BOAT (being offside all time) -
Oh good, another must win game As I said before Blackpool, our success record this season in must win games is HOW good? ................Like about zero percent??? This should have been a nah don't give a sh*t about game, now we'll draw it or heaven forbid lose it... grrrr

OK Home Team, I just want you all to know that I am taking this VERY seriously. I am sure that after our resounding success on the big day I will be in prime position for the role as Saints Coach next season. As I see it, I'll be an almost internal candidate, I'll have no idea what I am doing in the match day situation and I can make nice condescending speeches about the fans/weather/pitch/ref, makes me odds on I reckon! Meanwhile to show how seriously I am taking this I am just going out to search for some important books on the subject so I can pass on some wisdom in the run-up. I'm told some of the old second hand bookshops may still hold copies of the right stuff.. MS Football Management for Dummies (with forward by JP apparently) And most importantly The StuRomseySaint's Guide to Match Fitness Apparently getting fit is a pretty important starting point. An ex egg chasing mate of mine says that one good way to improve fitness levels is to stand up at the bar all night instead of sitting down. Will see what I can dig up in regard to proper fitness tests -

Fans in uproar at cash strapped club trying to make money Fans in uproar because club is cashed strapped and can't afford loans Don't worry, if things are as bad as the rumours flying around on here, the games won't happen as the new owners of the stadium won't want to spoil it before they rent it out to the Skates for a zillion next season -
Actually, so can anyone else, you or I included - I could offer US$2 and you could offer 2 Euros. The only critical issue would be knowing how much the competition were bidding All you have to do then is find enough up front cash flow to pay the rent on the Stadium which would likely be set at about what we pay in interest now, and then pay the FL debts off. Piece of cake....

Yep somewhere in the region of Surman's fire sale value should cover that. Wait for the yepls of shock from those who advocated this route

Don't have to be a rocket scientist to know we are in trouble Will Rupert's last act to seek redemption be to save the fans the anguish of losing their 09/10 ST money by not releasing ST's yet There seems to be more leaks on this subject than there were below the water line on the Titanic. Either they are putting pressure on some people or we really are in the pooh I mean - the Man CITY web site? What do those guys from Abu Dhabi & Salford know that we don't? Oh yeah - there's the link Trousers - Abu Dhabi own Barclays...... hmmmmmmm

Application has been in for a few days now, airmiles are now sorted, all I need now is confirmation from Baj that the promised backroom staff for my critical role as manager are in place. I'll need one person to pick up the drinks tray as I kick it over regularly. Two cute blonde chick masseurs to stop my shoulders getting too tense during the game and a mega-phone to shout abuse at the ref from the technical area over the noise of the capacity crowd. And the all important bald headed thug looking bloke to look angry all game (what is it with PL teams and angry looking Bald headed blokes - all the games I saw at the weekend had one) Anyone want any duty frees bringing over? Fags are already sold to help pay the cost of the place, but still have the booze and pong allowances available for auction Oh and my team WILL be playing 4 - 4 - FOOKIN - 2 After half a season managing Coombe Bissett FC way back when I reckon I have enough on my cv to manage Saints let alone half of you lot! (all we have to do now is hope we don't go bust before the game and find that Kranser cancels it and keeps our money) -
There'll always be another must win game But Booze and chicks dressed up posh under their waterproofs.....
