    Coronavirus

As opposed to a lot of drug addicts, many of whom had their first jab by the bins round the back of a Superdrug.
  2. Does sound good. I'm quite excited to see how my son's friend gets on. He joined at the start of last season in the U14's and had been playing up a year quite regularly before this lockdown.
  3. I just bought BTC or ETH from coinbase and then traded some. It's insanely volatile. There's definitely money to be made if you have a lot of time to research coins and study charts but even then there's huge investors who can wreck you in no time by manipulating the market.
  4. I looked it up. It's £1.9 million per place in the league. Each team in the Europa group stage gets £2.92 million. Plus you get £570k for any group games won and £190k for a draw. Let's say we win 2, draw 2 that's an extra £1.5 million. Qualify from the group and you get about another £1.5 million. Add in a load of extra ticket revenue, sponsorship, merch sales etc and it's easily the same as finishing a few places higher. Plus we'd have won something.
  5. This, and also people who list qualifications in their email signature. It's a BA Hons (probably a 2:2) for God's sake. Everyone has one and nobody cares.
  6. If we won the cup we'd be in Europe which would be a bigger financial boost than finishing 9th instead of 14th. Plus we'd have actually won something which is surely the point of playing in the first place.
  7. And again. Maybe he should just launch it upfield. Wouldn't have happened if they'd had Fraser Forster in goal.
  8. I'm going to predict that he's going to end being a brilliant player for us and people will be dragging up quotes from this thread and laughing at them in the future.
  9. We have quite a game plan in possession which involves moving the ball around defence and the base of midfield while the front 4 make runs to try and pull their players out of position. As soon as that happens a quick ball is played through the midfield to hit the runners whose space is created by the full backs pushed high and the number 10's dropping inside. Vestergaard being out has had significant impact on this because a lot of our attacking play starts from his pass which is triggered by the movement further forwards. I don't believe any of our other CB's are capable (maybe Salisu will be) of playing these sort of balls. If the opposition are disciplined and don't get dragged around then we recycle the ball until this happens. This then makes it look like we are passing it around the back for no reason. Earlier in the season it was working perfectly, but opposition teams have started to work out how to counter it, especially while we've been struggling with injuries. Other teams play a very similar style, difference obviously is the better ones have a load of world class players who can adapt and do something with individual brilliance that unlocks a defence. I don't think there's anything wrong with our tactics, and when we are on it we are exciting to watch. At this point they are let down by a small squad with many players carrying injuries and too many individual errors. However I'm sure this will be overcome in time and we'll get back to winning games soon.
  10. No doubt there's a Wolves forum where their fans are saying "Saints are in a terrible run of form, who better to help them out than Wolves?" Salisu will start and have a stormer which will prove all the experts wrong. Ings will remember how to score and we'll comfortably win the game.
  11. I'm not sure if Walker Peters would have been there anyway. Our full backs average position is high up the pitch, Newcastle regularly played the ball over the top into those areas to exploit this. The fault in my eyes lays with Bednarek for half arsed attempt to win the ball. He was also culpable for the second goal because his feet were in a mess, body weight all wrong. They teach that stuff at Academy age groups. It's the equivalent of a goalkeeper getting his set position wrong and letting one in because of it. Add to the fact he was lucky not to be sent off he had an all round stinker of a game. I'm not blaming him for the loss, all the players have that on them, but his mistakes certainly had a big contribution.
  12. Terrible that we barely created a chance after getting back to 3-2. Other than Ings hitting the post and the header straight at their keeper from the corner we did nothing despite having a 1 or 2 man advantage. We were so predictable in our play that it was actually very easy for them to defend.
  13. It's harder to play against 9 men than 10.
  14. We'll equalise and then it will get called off because the ball's getting stuck in the water.
  15. Fuck yes, red card
  16. Fucking hell that's probably the best free kick I've seen in years.
  17. He's only doing what he's told to do. If Forster comes in just continually whacks the ball upfield he'd get dropped. Don't get me wrong he was partly at fault for the 3rd goal but the way Ralph wants our keepers to play doesn't involve launching the ball in the air every time it comes to them.
  18. We just love giving shit goals away
  19. Stephens own goal
  20. Best to ignore him, he's always like this. Silly goal to give away. Ings should have scored then.
  21. They have CB problems. Had a quick scan of their fans thoughts on the line up and the main thing I noticed is how much they dislike Hendricks. I'm going for a 2-1 win.
  22. Good post. I'll definitely renew my season tickets but they aren't the games that excite me. It's trips like you describe that I miss so much. We'll be back to proper aways next season.
  23. TalkSport is shite, not sure why any same person would listen or engage with their content. It's probably where Mike Dean will end up when he finally retires.
  24. I have a few coins from a while ago. Mostly BTC & ETH but also some BAT which hasn't done a lot. At the previous BTC peak of $20k I was doing alright. I got carried away and fucked up buying some altcoins some of which went to shit, one of them even got delisted. I got pissed off with myself and sold them all apart from BAT, consolidated into BTC and ETH and ignored it for a 18 months. The recent rise has got me someway back towards where I was but I probably lost 50% compared to what if have had if I'd just left it in the 2 main coins and not basically gambled it on shitty moonshots. Didn't get involved in GameStop although I love what Reddit did.
  25. Liverpool surrendering their title quite meekly this season. Another poor home result. Fair play to Brighton for sticking with Potter during their bad patch. 9 games without a win but he's turned it around. Just goes to show that teams can pull themselves out of a slump, much like we will do when we have players back from injury.
