  1. Why is that? Have they changed the rules or is it because the cup game was delayed?
  2. He's just been part of a defence keeping 3 clean sheets in a row including one against the Champions. He's not as good as Vestergaard but neither is he as bad as people seem to like to make out.
  3. No it doesn't. Stop being a whiny prick.
  4. Played so well considering all the injuries. Massively fucked over by the ref for the goal. It's not even funny how he didn't give us a free kick, it was so fucking blatant and no different to what he booked Diallo for about 5 minutes after.
  5. Wolves having a tough season so far.

Yep. My view is largely that they have cocked a load of stuff up but seem to have got this right, which they knew they had to after previous errors. I guess the only country who could claim to have done better is Israel who got the army involved straight away and have smashed through about 2 million in no time.

Vaccine rollout is really ramping up. I know quite a few who had have one now, and other than my Grandad none of them are old. Obviously my sister and brother in-law as they are frontline NHS, but also a friend who is a mental health nurse who has been pretty much working from home since March. My partner's cousin took her Mum to have her jab and was offered one while she was there. Apparently people at vaccine sites have been offering spare vaccines to colleagues, family, other front line emergency workers etc. These would be ones where an appointment has been missed and the vaccine would go off and otherwise be wasted. It's all a bit unofficial but makes sense to use them rather than have them go to waste.

Maybe it wasn't Chartwell who sent out the packages in the Twitter photos. They aren't the only company doing it. The Chairman of Compass who own Chartwell is a Tory donor though.
  9. Ok, that makes sense. Seems the revised fixture list might work out for us. Can't say I agree with the rules being different in the qualifying round. For many, of not all teams at Step 3 and below the FA Cup games are their biggest of the season. They should be given as much chance to play them as possible, a couple of wins could gain them a lot of well needed money and exposure and in some cases be vital to the club continuing. It was great seeing Sholing have a decent cup run and getting to play Torquay this season. Seems a bit patronising to Non-League teams to call them AFC "bloody" Sudbury or whatever.
  10. Snow isn't much a problem for our home games because it's so rare here. Maybe I'm not keeping up, but how come Villa had to play a bunch of kids at the weekend but Shrewsbury are given more time to play the game?
  11. Haha. Definitely not. They did once have a massive sheep made out of flowers plonked in the town centre and a takeaway called Abrakebabra both of which made me laugh every time I saw them.
  12. Margate is pretty popular now although Broadstairs just up the coast is the place where anyone sensible lives. There's a Turner gallery in Margate, a big art community, quite a decent music scene. Probably more going on there than there is in Southampton although we're not exactly the type of culture benchmark that anyone is comparing themselves against.
  13. Strawberry Moons, haha there's a blast from the past. We mainly went to Drakes, Hogs Head and Club Orange for the crap indie club nights. Chatham is where the word chav originated and anyone who has been there will know why.
  14. I know a few off here, in fact I have quite a few mutual friends with Turkish from back in the day. Met a few people off Ugly Inside when I posted there in the early 2000's. Went to a games with a couple of them although one of them disappeared after he sent me an email meant for his girlfriend which included some quite graphic details.
  15. I was born near Maidstone, plenty of family around that way. It's a bit shit to be honest, but then so are most small towns less than an hour from London. Had some good nights out there but also some absolutely terrible ones. The clubs were often full of chavs on a night out from Chatham which is a truly godforsaken place at least 50 times more grim than anywhere else I've ever been.
  16. Reading the comments from their fans under this tweet is interesting. They mostly seem very excited by the signing even though WBA and Saints fans are telling them he can't run and is overweight. He was obviously a bit of a hero for them in the past but it seems unlikely he'd have much of an impact now.

The fact we've only just started making people prove a negative test before flying into the country seems totally bizarre to me. Why wasn't this enforced 10 months ago? Loads of other countries did it but we were welcoming people from all over the place with open arms.

    Coronavirus

Got this from Reddit, regards the General. It was sent to all staff yesterday. Dear Colleagues, We are all aware of the rising numbers of patients suffering from COVID in London and the South East fuelled by the presence of the new variant. The NHS has the capacity to cope if the R rate is less than 1.2 we are currently running at about 1.7. The national lockdown is welcome since without lockdown, the NHS risks being overwhelmed in 21 days. We are now experiencing an exponential rise in local demand with 200 COVID patients in the hospital, 50 of which requiring Level 2 or Level 3 (ICU) support, with a doubling time of between 7-10 days. It is clear we are moving into a difficult phase of the pandemic and will need to match this increasing demand with a rapid escalation of support and capacity to ITU and ward based COVID pathways. This will not be accommodated without dramatically reducing activity in other areas and I am asking you to again step up, calling on your flexibility and goodwill to support these areas. This can no longer be managed by the core teams. Lockdown is predicted to start to reduce this growth, with an impact beginning in 2 weeks. I have no doubt the next month is going to be extremely difficult and we will experience significantly more pressure than ever before. We will get through this but only through all of us pulling together to avoid a crisis. The magnitude of the demand will be significantly greater than wave 1 or 2. There will be much we need to do. I am writing firstly to make you all aware of the situation we find ourselves in but also to let you know of some immediate actions and provide some detail: · G Level West Wing is now fully occupied by COVID patients. · F7, F8 are full and we need to create capacity in F5. · We will preserve ASU/F6 and therefore our next escalation will be to E Level. · We will open Bassett Ward, PAH. · We need to open and staff an additional 20 ICU beds. · We will need to ask for a significant (circa 100) staff to support to these areas. I apologise to have to ask this and I acknowledge the stress this creates. · We will close 4 theatres tonight and will undoubtedly need to do more in the next few days. Prior to this, we have already stood down 6 theatres (one of these replaced at the Nuffield) and redeployed teams. · Outpatients, where possible and safe, will need to be run virtually. We would have wished to avoid any redeployment and do not under estimate the impact this will have. This is going to be difficult, despite everyone’s efforts to minimise nosocomial infection and infection rates in our community which have put us in a better position than our neighbours . This has bought us some time for lockdown to have an impact and we should be grateful for that. We will continue to roll out vaccinations as rapidly as possible. We will keep you informed as things change over the next few weeks. Please look after your colleagues and yourselves. Details of all the wellbeing support available are on Staffnet. Thank you to everyone in the UHS family for what you’re doing and are about to do. I know that we will find our way through this together. David French Interim Chief Executive Officer
  19. Trump telling people to go home but still banging on about the fraudulent election. He's such a twat.
  20. Why don't the police just tear gas the fuck out of them and charge them back up the road like they did when Trump wanted to wander up to the church?
  21. Just turned on CNN. This is absolutely nuts.
  22. Don't start with all this passing it backwards is good nonsense "GET IT IN THE MIXER FFS"
  23. No doubt he will for the cup game. He's certainly given Ralph a selection headache going forward, but it's a good position to be in.
  24. Absolutely amazing win. Just an incredible defensive performance. Diallo was ridiculously good for a player making his second start.

Looks like they are now going to give people on the priority list one dose and delay the second one until 12 weeks later so as to vaccinate as many people as possible over the next few months. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/dec/30/covid-19-second-stage-nhs-vaccinations-delayed-across-uk
