The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

At this point they are just blatantly taking the piss out of the public. It's impossible to buy anything vaguely expensive at our work without going through a convoluted procurement process while the Government hand out billions of pounds worth contracts to friends and associates without even blinking. -

We got a clap one week I think as part of the other emergency services and could jump the queue into Costco with our ID Cards. We should just be grateful for that. NHS pay award should be weighted. Crappy paid nurses and social carers get higher percentage. Don't forget that some GP's who already earn a fortune went and sat at home and did virtual consulting while their colleagues were in the thick of it. Spare a thought for cleaners who would have been knee deep in work at hospitals and are probably on zero hour contacts with no chance of a payrise. -
That happens in every non league game. I'm sure that if a bunch of plasterers and plumbers can ignore it then your £100k a week Premier League player or pro ref will be fine.

Maybe that's because there's only about 17 fishermen left in the country and no one cares?

By the time the vaccine had rolled out to the wider population we'll be in a period of very low covid anyway. Cases are clearly heading back down now but there will most likely be another mini rise after Xmas once everyone has spent 5 days pissed with their families and friends followed by a big drop off in spring. Chuck a vaccine in and we'll all be shagging in the streets come May.

I was joking, I don't care where anyone lives. Who is this Mick Mills chap? I guess he must have played for us before football started in 1992.

Anywhere from Swanwick to the East is dodgy as far as I'm concerned!

We shouldn't let anyone in a PO postcode in. SO goes most of the way through the Forest and up to Winchester. That's plenty of people to be filling the 4000 seats. Anyone else is just a glory hunter.

Going 2-0 up wouldn't have necessarily been game over, they had loads of chances and if it wasn't for McCarthy and some bad finishing could have scored a few. Very happy with a point.

Only 12 points off relegation now though. PANIC

I'd definitely exclude anyone who buggered off to Dubai during Lockdown 2 from the list of supporters allowed back in.

They've gone balls out on that petition asking for a 10% payrise which is completely ludicrous. I might start one asking for 20% payrises for all Saints season ticket holders who work in the public sector. See how much of a Southampton supporter Sunak really is. If he was a true fan he'd like nothing more than giving me a hefty payrise while the Pompey woman I manage with gets nothing. -
A brisk walk at lunchtime up the country park showed the sheer volume of people not sticking to the rules. Loads of big groups, parents meeting up with other families and grandparents, no social distancing. There were so many people gathered outside the cafe that if someone had put some music on it would have broken the attendance record for the illegal raves that people have got themselves worked up about. I'm not particularly bothered what other people get up to, especially outside, but it just goes to show how many people aren't listening to the Government.

Interesting findings from mass testing in Wuhan where they discovered that no asymptomatic people spread the virus. If that's true then lockdown seems a bit pointless for anyone without symptoms. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-19802-w

Don't most of the really rich people take advantage of the ridiculous tax rules which allow them to transfer money through a complex network of offshore accounts and therefore avoid paying the full rate? Or is that just people like Rees-Mogg and his cronies? -

Not sure if I'd like to pay higher tax unless there's some sort of guarantee it isn't wasted on a bunch of shite by this government. I otherwise agree with the concept. Most countries who pay higher tax have better social services, are happier and end up with a better standard of living. But they probably also don't have complete bell ends running their country like we do. -
Brighton win at Villa Park for the first time in their history. Bit of a weird one. Not really sure why the commentators were so convinced it was a penalty, March kicked the ball.

Brighton take the lead against Villa with half an hour to go.

If it means I can go back to gigs and football then I'd allow anything to be shoved inside me.

I don't remember ever getting a pay increase above 3%. Plus we never get bonuses. Still, as long as our pay freeze means the Government can spunk billions on crappy track and trace, invisible PPE and waste god knows how much on vanity projects like the garden bridge it's alright. -

As one of the poor public sector people who went to work every day while half the nation sat at home getting paid I'm a bit miffed although our pay rises are normally so meagre anyway it probably doesn't make much difference! -
Hamble's had loads of cases which culminated in Years 9 & 10 both being sent home from Monday this week until next Thursday. They'd been following guidance and only been sending kids home who had had positive contact with others, at one point 4 separate positive tests came back in one day and they identified 87 kids from Year 10 who had been in contact with them. 2 days later they sent the whole of those 2 year groups home which was a great decision. They are now doing 3 zoom lessons a day and being set work for the other 2 periods which is working well. I can't begin to think how much extra work this situation has caused for schools having to continually trace people who have been in contact with anyone testing positive and then messaging all the parents. If the Government are set on everyone having a family Christmas they should shut all colleges and secondary schools from Year 9 and above at the start of December and make them teach online.

Presumably the players sent out on loan are the ones we don't want. Getting them game time will make it easier to sell them if they play well. There's no reason to keep people here that are going to be moving on.
