  1. Not had an email but everyone is in the Kingsland, they mentioned that during commentary on the U18's game.
  2. I largely agree with this, especially the part about not the players probably not knowing what's in the BLM manifesto. When this started it was clearly an attempt to show that racial inequality will not be tolerated. That's obviously a good thing and it's sad we live in an age where people are still face discrimination based on race. Taking the knee is a symbolic gesture to show they are upset with inequality at a time when the issue has been catapulted into the global consciousness. It's not supporting the apparent Marxist beliefs of the organisation. Most people wouldn't even know about that, just like most people don't know the ins and outs of the manifesto for whatever political party they vote for. This has now got muddled. Kick It Out has been going ages but is underfunded and underused by the FA. They should have been straight on this and aligned and any show of support by the players with their own organisation. As normal though the FA was slow to react.

    Coronavirus

Wow. Thanks for writing it all out, that really brings home how shitty it is for some people and not just a mild illness because that is anything but. Glad you are feeling better now. Hopefully it stays that way.
  4. Difficult one this. There are some people as egg said who have addictive personalities and for these people gambling can be a slippery slope to ruining their life, much like alcohol can be for others. There's very few people who make much money out of betting other than the bookies but is that a reason to ban advertising? I suspect most people who do bet are chucking a tenner on a weekly accumulator or placing the odd wager while watching a match or a race to make it more interesting. For most people that's not a problem, for the others the advertising could be said to be luring them into a very bad place. It does seem a bit cheap having a betting firm sponsoring a team but if it's allowed and they are offering more money the clubs are mostly going to go with it.
  5. I misread the article. Most really good kids are in a pro team's academy long before they are 14 though. There's obviously the odd exception, he must be one of them.
  6. They went to home and away games. They spent an awful of a lot of money and time following the team around the country. They are clearly the biggest fans because they put in the most effort. These people were up and down the country on road or by train covering thousands of miles and spending thousands of pounds over the season. They took time off work, juggled finances, got home late from midweek aways and then up early for work the next day. They should be applauded for their dedication. They didn't just wander down to St Mary's every other week. I did every home and a decent number of aways but have no hesitation in saying those who managed every game are better fans than me and deserve to have priority.
  7. Mad that he was playing for Thatcham Town until we signed him.
  8. Is he actually not that bad? Can't say I've watched any Lazio games but he's obviously played a load of matches, including Champions League, so must be doing something right. Played against Dortmund the other day and they only let in one. On the bench today by the looks of it.
  9. Haha, the other one.
  10. Obviously have to remember the standard of opposition when judging a player. Coventry maybe a little light in midfield and mostly chasing shadows. They have a decent CB, keeper and one striker looks very lively on the ball.
  11. Maybe. He has a lot of positives, so comfortable on the ball in the middle of the park, always seems to have time to do what he wants. Everything comes through him, plays well on the turn just like Ralph likes his CM's to do. Tidy passer. Maybe a bit slight still for men's football but plenty of time to bulk up a little.
  12. Bellis definitely has something about him, although finishing has let him down. Carson at LB, great technique, good dead balls too. Olaigbe direct and skillful. Can't say much about CB's as not troubled. Keeper doesn't have great feet, looks awkward. Not had any real saves to make.
  13. Could be 6 or 7 if it wasn't for the Coventry keeper who has pulled off some very good saves. Saints so comfortable now.
  14. 3-0, great goal by Chalk. He looks some player.
  15. He must have some allegiance to the area and his roots because he randomly turned up to watch his old school Hamble play a Year 8 match one afternoon while he was at Liverpool. From what I heard he was back in the area and decided to pop in to watch. I do wonder if this was around the time he started talking to Saints about a transfer, although it was a while before any media outlets started linking him.
  16. He was very excited when they decided it was going to be at St Mary's even though he's not a Saints fan. Some very decent play in the first half. Really like the look of Chalk in midfield and Olaigbe is a handful. Lots of technical play on show, quick passing, good movement. Enjoyable to watch.
  17. My friend is linesman for this.
  18. It's Monday again? FFS, I didn't realise.
  19. That's just ridiculous. I've no issue wearing one in the concourse but there's no reason to wear them outside when everyone is miles apart from each other.
  20. There would have been a time when I'd have easily been in the second category, nearly the first, but things change, lives move on and new people become the week in and week out support. The people in the top 2 categories have given their money over this season and probably spent a good few grand following the team last season too. You have to draw the line somewhere. There might be some people who scoff at your 30 years because they've had one for 50. It's impossible to please everyone and I don't envy the people who have had to make this decision.
  21. Seems fair to me even though I miss out on the second category by a couple of away games. Surprised we only have 62 in the first section, that's just over one bingo bus. I'd say it's only right that those who travel up and down the country every weekend get priority. They put their support above other things in their life to follow the team. It's a big commitment to do every game and they should be rewarded for it.

    Coronavirus

Southampton General already has the vaccine on site. Not sure if they have to wait until a certain date to start vaccinations or if they can just crack on now.
  23. Yeah I like Goat Girl, some great tracks on the first album. Saw them live and was a bit underwhelmed though, maybe just a bad day but they seemed thoroughly bored! Funny comments about Crack Cloud. Haha. What time shall we meet for the fight? Some other recommendations that might be a bit more your style, these are all quite new bands Yard Act, Famous, Personal Trainer, Egyptian Blue, Global Charming, caroline, LICE (they're a bit shouty though) Wych Elm, PVA, deathcrash.
  24. Do you get bored housewives open the door in a skimpy dressing gown with their cleavage bursting out asking if you could bring the package up to the bedroom like what happens in those documentaries on the internet?
