  1. Both are amazing. Hyperdub put out some real good releases. Burial is always my go to artist when travelling on trains out of the city late at night. Just fits that time and place so perfectly. If you like that sort of thing and haven't heard Actress then get on it. He's done some quality stuff.
  2. Don't forget Guly's against Yeovil. A special moment to rival that of any penalty ever scored by any player for our club.
  3. Sadly the wasp will have to stay in the glass for at least another week because there was a queue of people waiting to talk to him after and I couldn't be arsed to wait.
  4. Sold out
  5. Completely agree. The bloke did a good job there. Taking my son to Scott Bevan's coaching session later, will see if I can find out what's going on with Connolly.
  6. "Who the fuck is Pochettino, and the Saints go marching on, on, on" Started last night. I have a tiny, sneaky feeling it will get a long, hard airing on 5th October.
  7. "We are Southampton, we sing our own songs" Apart from when we rip them off of other fans and just change a few words to make them ours.
  8. We do, but not as much as Arsenal. Thay have, what 2? "Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal" and "1-0 to the Arsenal". Laughable. Here's my effort. To the tune of Mistletoe & Wine everyone's favourite, by the not-at-all-involved-in-yewtree Cliff Richard Southampton chime, Nathanial Clyne Scoring goals from near the halfway line He went to the Emirates and thumped one right in And when he plays for England the Saints fans will sing (Diclaimer - that is a joke. I do not expect, nor wish, anyone to be singing a song to that God-awful tune in St Mary's)
  9. He's achingly good. Regards the penalty I thought he waited for the keeper to dive then adjusted his foot at the last second to divert the ball the other way. I could be wrong though.
  10. I've said for ages he'd turn out to be a decent player but was happily surprised by just how solid he looked in a game against the toughest team he's played in the biggest match of his life. His whole demeanour filled me with confidence. It's performances like that which will force Bertrand to keep playing well because if he lets his game slip he knows Targett might take his place.
  11. I don't think anyone expected it! It's one thing having a pop but that goes in what, 1 in 10 times? Still reckon Forster would have saved it.
  12. A mate of mine did some media work at Arsenal last week. I don't think it's any coincidence that the players happiest to spend time chatting to them were the 3 ex-Saints.
  13. Here's the full quote from Wenger. I'd say it's fairly classy, he gives us a lot of praise. “We made two unneeded errors on the two goals, and big ones,” said Wenger. “We lacked a bit of experience at the back but the first reason of our defeat is the quality of our opponent and the performance of our opponent.”
  14. Yep. The one thing he won't do is pretend he's something he isn't and mess around with the ball at his feet. He didn't even start playing football until he was 13 so his ability to play on the floor is somewhat limited but as long as he keeps it simple and does the right thing that's fine.
  15. Massively enjoyed that. We were so strong all over the pitch and even coped comfortably in the last 15 minutes when we started defending a bit deeper. Mane looked exactly what we need, although he'll have to cut out the predictable diving before I completely warm to him. I really can't stand players throwing themselves to the ground theatrically every time someone gets near them. Stay on your feet lad, use your skill and pace to beat them instead. Would love Fulham away in the next round, and another 5000 Saints fans in London.
  16. Booing some 19 year old kid just makes us look tinpot. I very much doubt it unsettled him, that was more down to the ability of our attacking players and the inexperience of his fellow defenders. Also he didn't just leave Saints. We got £16 million pounds for him. Our Academy uses players just like they apparently use us. Spot the talent, bring them through, sell the odd one for big money. Reinvest. That's what we do.
  17. According to the chap in front it's different because Chamberlain had 2 chances to leave before he joined Arsenal. Yes mate, those 2 bids that Cortese accepted. They were all over the news at the time, we all remember them right?
  18. Had an argument with a bloke in front of me who was booing him. He then clapped Chamberlain when he came on.
  19. He's pretty much all they have at RB at the moment so I can't see him being played at CB in a cup game.
  20. Yeah, they will. After winning away this weekend I'd imagine the rest will shift quite quickly.
  21. I used to live with a strange bloke who would eat mayonnaise on toast.
  22. Going deep undercover tonight to see Gruff Rhys at the Wedgewood Rooms.
  23. The groundsman have been quiet with their pitch designs so far this season. Building up to mowing Markus' face in to the grass every week?
  24. If you're on your own just stand at the end of an aisle near the back. No one will care.
  25. I don't know anywhere in Richmond to park for free so always head up to Kew and park on the street. You're always guaranteed a spot within a 2 minute walk to the station.
