From the family stand I could hear the Itchen singing more than the Northam, but when the Northam got going they were louder. It's ideal to have both sides going at the away fans. A lot of grounds only have one singing section so when both are being loud it sounds superb. There are still plenty of times when we go quiet for long spells, although that's pretty much the same at every ground.

On MOTD in the crowd, then allowed to embarassingly hijack Allardyce's interview - a moment which they gleefully replayed on the sports news on 5live this morning? Apparently he ditched turning up at a march in London yesterday to take corporate seats at West Ham. How does that his in with his current stance?

Flapped at a cross against Newcastle which they somehow failed to score from. Was very average at Spurs and extremely lucky not to give away a penalty last week. Other than that he's been excellent.

Went to the ground earlier for a Stoke away ticket and there were a steady stream of people buying for tomorrow. Most of them were taking a while to choose their seats because the choice seemed very limited.

Last few times I've been there they barely sang at all. It was quite loud for the last 10 mins of the 3-3 when Jerome equalised but that really was it. I'm not claiming our fans are better, just their "famous" atmosphere is massively exaggerated.

It's rubbish for drinking. Best is to find somewhere a few miles away and get a taxi. I'll no doubt end up driving so it's of little relevance to me this time.

They mostly go to the pubs inbetween the station and the ground which invariably means Yates. It's pretty much now known as the away fans pub. I guess it depends on whether they want decent beer or not. There aren't that many pubs which are home fans only so you can pretty much take your pick.

We were right in line with it and thought at the time that it should have been a penalty but not a sending off. Had that been the case it most probably wouldn't have made much difference to the result because they would still have been playing with the same terrible defence who had no clue how to deal with our attack.

Unless we have a big injury crisis I really can't see any team that finished below us last season overtaking us. It's totally unrealistic for us finish above Chelsea and Man City. Over the season Man Utd and Arsenal will both gain more points than us. Hopefully it will be reasonably close between us, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton for the next 4 places.
