  1. And I have monday and tuesday off work. I'm not doing a good job of convincing myself not to go.
  2. My 5yo old likes to ask "who would win if" and then picks 2 teams to play each other. This morning he asked what the score would be if Liverpool played England. While explaining the whole club/country thing to him (again) the 9yo piped up with "but which team would Lallana play for and which bench would Lambert sit on "
  3. The U18's are in FA Cup action against West Ham at St Mary's on Tuesday 9th December so come and see for yourself. I'd love to watch them more but Staplewood is still only open for family etc to watch and games at St Mary's are few and far between.
  4. I wish this would sell out so the decision of whether to spend £41 on a ticket is taken out of my hands. It's too much, but I still feel guilty for not going.
  5. I'd imagine there is a lot of truth in the story. Jeremy Wilson at the Telegraph has very good links with the club. The other papers just copied the story and put their own spin on it.
  6. The main problem with England fans is the sheer predictability of the songs. Anyone with even the mildest sense of what might happen would have guessed they'd interspers songs about IRA with Rule Britannia and the national anthem. The ******* band don't help, no one likes them, I'm unsure why they persist.
  7. At the same age Lambert had better technique at screwing lids on jars of beetroot than he did on a football pitch. Give him time, he'll come good.
  8. I have vague memories from being quite small of England and Northern Ireland playing out a highly tedious 0-0 draw. It still remains one of the dullest games I have ever seen.
  9. He'll end up being a regular top division starter in time. I do wonder quite what some people are watching sometimes.
  10. Why don't we play like that all the time?
  11. The seemingly random littering of "actions" and "words" throughout that interview makes it read like the noise a talking toy makes when running out of batteries.
  12. Must have been strange for the locals to see 10000 people in the same place acting with decency and decorum. Despite the fact the polling station closed before they all had the chance to vote there was no trouble whatsoever.
  13. £12 a ticket at Eastleigh, although £3 extra if you want to sit. This is cheap by Conference standards. Aldersot charge £17 to stand for example. I wasn't going yesterday but have been to 4 games this season. They have some decent players there and have pumped a great deal of money into the club to achieve what they have.
  14. Sort it out Marian.
  15. From what I saw he did well. England are set up so badly there's little chance for anyone to actually look good. They play such dire, classless, predictable football I can barely stomach watching a whole game. Jordan Henderson is utter toilet, his best contribution to the game was scoring the own goal which gave us some urgency. God help us if he's going to win 70 odd caps in the centre of our midfield.
  16. This reminds me, I must renew my passport before the away leg of our Champions League qualifier.
  17. There was a rival station that had live commentary in the mid 90's, I believe Jim Proudfoot was the commentator. Was it Power FM? For some reason I distinctly remember him once saying "Beasant plucked that one out of the air like a tea cup from a cupboard shelf". As an aside to that he also commentated on the Arsenal vs Spurs FA Cup Semi Final in 1993 when Tony Adams scored and on the final whistle said "ee-ew ee-ew ee always does it for Arsenal".
  18. Jamie, hard at work.
  19. Alderweireld played for Belgium tonight in a 3-1 win over Iceland Targett and Reed had 45 minutes each in England U20's 2-2 draw with Canada at Dean Court.
  20. 4 losses. Players start handing in transfer requests, Mitchell leaves for Spurs and Les Reed goes back to Charlton his "spiritual home".
  21. How anyone could forget the momentous occassion that was Guly's last goal for the club I will never know.
  22. OK. No problem, just let me know.
  23. Said just after the transfer window closed that it made sense for him to sign a new contract. Chuck a release clause in for £25m-£30m and everyone's happy.
  24. One of the Greens problems is they don't have enough candidates. As far as I'm aware they've never stood in Eastleigh since I've been voting in this constituency which is slightly strange. Hopefully this time they will because I'd imagine they'd hoover up a lot votes from hacked off Lib Dems.
