You're such a smug pri ck.

Mastodon spent Friday night drinking in the Rockstone.

Jim Noir at the Joiners tomorrow. Mate had a spare ticket so said I'd go. Haven't heard any of his music for years so not entirely sure what it will be like.

Isn't it the season to celebrate the life of Jesus, to spend time with loved ones and pay quiet reflection to those in the world with problems? The only entertainment should be provided by over exuberant local radio dj's and washed up Yewtree-avoiding stars trampling the boards of your local theatre in Panto.

He was dreadful against us at St Mary's in our first season back in the Premier League, and it was then, having seen him live for the first time in a number of years that I said his legs had gone. It's all well and good watching games on tv and seeing highlights of his hollywood passes and 20 yard thunderbolts but it's only in the flesh when you can get a true reflection of the work a player does on the pitch. He is now dropping deeper and deeper to make up for his lack of movement, pulling the midfield back and inviting teams on. There are also ridiculous gaps in the channels, and everytime a full back dares to go forward there's little cover. It does make you wonder how a problem so blindingly obvious to many is stubbonly ignored. To be fair quite a few of their fans are now coming round to the right way of thinking that I don't believe many would be that annoyed if Rodgers did start putting him out to pasture. Schneiderlin is 10 times the player Gerrard is now. Jack Cork would probably do a better job.

Boxing Day matches are so ingrained into the history of our game that despite away games being a complete ballache to get to for many people axing it would be wildly unpopular. With the lack of transport due to selfish train drivers refusing to work it does make sense.

Here's a link to the top 10. Sadly our 350 pass move against Newcastle didn't make it. Which one would you pick? I'm quite a fan of the Le Tissier style Marco Fabian lob, and despite looking like it was scored in the park the Stephanie Roche goal is fantastic (Matty gets a mention in the interviews after) http://www.fsf.org.uk/blog/view/and-finally-goal-of-the-year-puskas-award

I'd get rid of any games between Boxing Day and New Years Day. Ok you're going to have some rearranged for TV but having an extra round of matches inbetween that is quite harsh.

I went to a pub quiz the other night where the winning team was full of Saints players. Their captain was the Fonte of all knowledge.

Rather than buy players from us they are now planning to sign our targets before we have the chance. The perfect transfer strategy.
-
It's all his fault apart from the stuff that isn't his fault even though he knew about most of that anyway. Makes perfect sense.
-
Cheers for that. Sounds like it's pretty much a done deal to get him permanently.
-
It's gone from pure goals to poor goals after his post match interview. He's also taking responsibility for it which must mean he's aware that buying Lovren and continuing to play him, Skrtel and Glen Johnson is his fault. You can add not buying a decent defensive midfielder while relying on a bloke whose legs went 2 years ago to play in that position and picking a different midfield every match to that too, plus panic buying an ineffectual striker.

£25 in the home end, £40 petrol in a car with reasonable consumption. Eat before you leave, park for free 10 minutes walk away. £4 pint at half time = £69. Granted that's stilll a lot for one person to go to a game but its not hard to save money if you put in a bit of effort. Even cheaper still if you can stomach a bingo bus.

Just had a quick look. No apparent hint of irony in this quote: "And as for what happened last year: It's history. The modern Liverpool was built on not dwelling on the past, but the here and now and the future."

Good website that. I read this piece the other day. http://www.exaronews.com/articles/5409/operation-midland-investigates-tory-mp-over-boy-s-murder There was also a story on popbitch a while back about a well to do chap who let a cabinet minister stay at his house in the 70's. As he was going to bed he heard some screams, ran down the hallway, opened the bedroom door of his young son and found the MP hanging out the back of him. He immediately rang the police. They turned up, recognised the MP and phoned upstairs for advice on how to proceed. They were told to quietly withdraw from the scene and never mention it again. Sickening.

Saints prepare new contract for Nathaniel Clyne
The Cat replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
If we are talking pathways into the first team then Flannigan has no chance of getting in our central midfield with Cork, JWP and Reed all ahead of him. We are reasonably light at RB amongst the nippers, I noticed Niall Mason was tried there recently. -

He's been playing RB lately and it seems the club like him in that position. Here's an article with him talking about it. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20141015-jake-flannigan-pre-liverpool-2017876.aspx -

I like him. Comes across very well. I'd like to think he'll stay if we finish top 4. He's our player right now. Let's just enjoy that. -
Cod help them.

Even when the new stand is finished capacity will only be 5000. This is enough for football league standards. They can expand again to 7500 but no point as despite increased attendances they would be unlikely to get anywhere near filling it apart from the odd one off cup game.
-
Only 2 arrests though. So they're not even that nawty anymore.

Sadly I'm old enough to remember when they had top flight highlights before. It was horrific.
