My Grandparents were lucky enough not to be involved in much combat during the war. My Dad's father (RIP) was a driver and chef, while my Mum's father spent a lot of time in Europe (mainly Greece) training foreign troops. Plenty of their friends and relatives were not so fortunate. We had a very poingnant tribute today at the Police HQ in Netley with hundreds of people there.

Standing? Work permitting we hope to be up there a bit early so cold meet for a pint. I'll probably give the support band a swerve in favour of cheaper and better beer in the pub too.
-
Me too but got them for my other half which shows my age! We're going on 23rd.

The Guildhall has awful acoustics which is why hardly any bands play there twice. Hopefully the richness of sound that War On Drugs have live will negate it when they play in Feb. I saw Jeff Tweedy at London Palladium last week. He was on top form as usual. Props to that venue for having the most expensive beer I have ever seen. £5 for a can of Stella. Wow.

Saints vs Sheffield Utd (A) Capital One Quarter Final

I should be able to help. Between our group we should have enough ST's and my son has an ST with one game on so if your nipper needs one it can be covered. -
Saints vs Sheffield Utd (A) Capital One Quarter Final

If they've already started selling their tickets we could be stuck with what we have. -
Taking the boxing analogy further I see it like this: Chelsea are Mike Tyson in his pomp. Utterly dominant and ruthless. Saints are Evander Holyfield. Coming up from the lower leagues and mixing it with the big boys. Liverpool are Oliver McCall crying in the ring.

5live just spent 10 minutes discussing whether we'd finish top 4. The general consensus from Claridge and co was we would. I'm not sure they were meant to spend quite so long talking about us but Merrington came on the phone and wouldn't stop talking.

You'll get one. We won't sell 5000 tickets before general sale. -
The noise at Man Utd was most probably coming from the Palace fans so on that basis I declare us the winners. Apparently they went to Portsmouth yesterday but with under 8500 home fans CRAMMED in to a PACKED Fratton Park the noise levels were so off the scale their machines broke.

Official figures for Sunday: Attendance: 10858 Away fans: 2384 Take off a few for the Aldershot fans in the home end and that's easily under 8500 home fans. Massive.

This game being on the Monday is quite handy because our players away on international duty will get extra time to recover. This is especially true of Mane who has 2 games to play and the furthest to travel other than Yoshida.
-
I quite fancy going to the replay.

Jos Hooiveld replied saying "9 years already!" whatever that means.
-
Oh it hasn't finished. Still time for them to scrape through this game and another so we have the slim chance of playing them
-
Pompey lose. Idiots.
-
Me too. But I want them at Fratton. Nothing would be sweeter than seeing us wallop them in their own backyard.

"This is why I don't go to St Mary's anymore. We are absolutely terrible and Portvliet needs to be sacked" 10000 glory Saints fans every week

It's been closed for ages now because the shopping centre has been demolished and a Morrison's is being built.

Some of their fans are waking up to this and finally admitting Gerrard can't provide the defensive midfield cover his postion in the team dictates he should. Ours on the otherhand is stunningly effective.

They say men think about sex every 7 seconds. No time for that at the moment because all my brain can think about is Saints.

Watched the last half an hour of the Man City game. They weren't all that.

I thought both full backs and Wanyama were excellent today. Leicester did their best to spoil in midfield and defended excellently at times with some great blocks and tackles. Unlike games of a similar pattern last season I always thought a goal was coming and it did from Long after a great build up. They didn't troubl us at all apart from that weird miss at the end. The "Saints are staying up" chant morphing into "we're going to win the league" made me chuckle. Plenty of day trippers about today. From people incomprehensibly queuing for 10 minutes at the wrong turnstile and holding everyone up (just look at your ticket FFS it isn't hard) to the loud Arsenal style groaning at every slightly misplaced pass, and a chap a few rows down from us who had his nipper sat on his lap playing on a tablet throughout the whole game. That half time football zorb game didn't work out too well either.
