  1. It was amazing, I was living in Sussex and my mum drove to school to tell me the news, it was the one and only time she did that. I was certain she got Keegan and Keehan mixed up, I remember the next time at school all the boys (Brighton, Spurs and Liverpool fans) were coming up to me to talk about it.
  2. Another one I can remember being excited about was Alan McLoughlin, didn't work on this side of Hampshire though.
  3. Keegans signing was light years ahead of any others, but Grobbelaar, Delgado, Phillips and Skacel were all exciting.
  4. Nigel is flanked by Rory Underwood and Clive Woodward
  5. Just google Celtic sectarian chanting and you will see that you are wrong.
  6. The sort of players we are after, young and talented, should retain a decent amount of value. So we are buying assets as well as good players, good financial management.
  7. Its nice to know that the Beeb and Sky are favorable to our great club.
  8. Get well Whitey there is a season of fun coming up.
  9. The mods thought he would have grown out of it now, not aware of his capacity to repeat the same old **** a hundred times a day.
  10. It seems it's all about money for the bloke, he was ok going to matches at child or student rates and I guess when he had to start paying adult rates we were dropping down the divs so the adult prices got cheaper. Now the wedge is a bit more he's doing the off. His money his choice I guess. **** article though rambling all over the place.
  11. So with a world population nearly 7billion we have 2.7 million fans.
  12. Granted I haven't read all 50 pages but the thread had moved on from 'like it' to 'tradition, football culture and identity'.
  13. If this kit is a best seller how does that affect the debate.
  14. I guess you would if you knew that the p*ss would be neutralised and would not effect your enjoyment. However if there was so much p*ss that the pool was a hint of yellow then you might choose to go into the baby pool instead.
  15. So if 100 non Saints fans turn up each game, thats a third of 1%. It would be like pi**ing in a swimming pool.
  16. Is he good enough to step up from Leyton Orient to the PL.
  17. I've watched loads of non-league over the years, I used to watch Steyning in the Sussex County league for a few season in the 80's, they got quite far in the FA Vase one year, also Worthing quite a bit. I now live near Maidstone and will be going to the new ground this season. Up the road Dartford have a great new ground built by the council and have been on a good run ever since, a few colleagues from work follow them and have a good time. I know a Welling United season ticket holder, and when I first met him and we were talking teams I asked who do you support and when he said Welling I asked he who did he really supported and he got quiet cross. There is definitely life in the non-league, it's old school to a degree and a decent pint at half time, back to the club house at full time for a pint and the results.
  18. We will win it this season.
  19. Yeah the forum will be full of intolerant posters calling people bedwetters and pathetic just for disliking the new kit.
  20. Am I allowed to dislike it.
  21. I think 'is' is the important word in Geneva's statement. If we want to rake over stuff from the past then no one comes out of it very well.
  22. So it's not a Saints badge but a Celtic Supporters Club based in Southampton named after too Celtic players from the 80's, one who only appeared for Celtic reserves. I guess 89/90 was the year the supporters club was formed.
  23. I would say they are the same thing, if the price goes up and we then decline to progress then we are being priced out of a move regardless of whether the reason is a) we can't aford it or b) we think its too expensive. As price in this context can both express an absolute value or relative value.
  24. The catchment thing is a red herring, there is no doubt that being in the prem will pull in more fans from the fringes, it will pull in more ad hoc fans and southern fans (****s) of the big northern teams for the big matches, but this won't be enough. To increase the attendance you have to get the less regular attendee to attend more, to do that you have to improve the offer (that horrible retail word). This is done through quality of football, quality of environment, accessibility and price. Bluewater ploughs something like 20% of their income into maintaining and improving the quality of the environment. Maybe we will improve the stadium add to the corporate offer (the red box) and improve the pre match and half time experience first before expanding the stadium.
